I’m taking a year off work to spend with my new baby …after 6 miscarriages she’s my most precious luxury.looking forward to budgeting to make it happen …love your channel …love from ireland 🇮🇪
Congrats. Please take all the time and enjoy your new baby. Hold her all you want. Enjoy every moment. Time flies so quickly and they grow up so fast. God bless you and keep all of you well.💕
“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” - Gianni Versace
What you have posted earlier resonated with me...that we can admire beauty from a far without having to own them. Everytime I am tempted to make a not so well thought out purchase, I will go back to this💞
😮😮😮WOW! Much food for thought. I was thinking about all that you were pin pointing and then your video was over😞All that you speak of regarding shopping and spending could be applied to other areas of a person's life, putting more in one area than another and creating an imbalance. I am truly not only eating, but digesting your words. Sorry I did not know of your channel when you started, but I am here now. When I want to purchase an item, I will put tin my cart, and then pause, go back and think. You can truly go down a rabbit hole if you don't pause. Just think, I thought this channel would be just another handbag channel, Boy, was I wrong and sooo happy👏🏽👏🏿👏🏼No pausing here, Thanks😎
I started watching your videos to learn more about luxury bags and YT keeps popping up videos by you that resonate!! I have a couple of Chanel bags but feel no desire to add more- and I’m glad to see someone else feels the same way as I do. Also like how you evaluate need vs want/can afford. I love that you’re thoughtful about your purchases and not snobby either and appreciate a good Lulu lemon bun bag too! Also loved the Hermes advice video. I remember my first luxury purchase (different brand) where the SA intimidated me and made me buy something I really didn’t love. I still have it and keep meaning to sell. I wish I’d had your video all those years ago. Please explore more brands in 2023 that are quality but not over priced. And some of the luxe bags that are not so coveted but are worth a look.
Oh my goodness, thank you!! Reading your comment made me so happy. I’m really glad that my videos are resonating. And yes, absolutely, I will showcase a wider variety of brands this year! Lesser-known brands, up-and-coming brands and brands that fly under the radar but offer great value! I hope you’ll enjoy what’s to come! 💕
Great video. So informative. I’m so guilty here and I hate thinking of the amount of waste I create. I think 30% of my shopping (the time and money spent) brings me genuine joy. 70% brings me stress and regret at how much I’be wasted. I plan on still shopping but definitely more mindfully!
This video is the reason you’re one of my fav luxury RUclipsrs! You don’t withhold yourself from shopping but you also recognize when too much is really too much! To be honest I noticed that you have been posting more haul videos recently and it made me wonder if RUclips has changed you or made you want to shop more. It was so so refreshing and inspiring to see this video today! Love your idea on the excel doc to pay yourself :) I also love tables and charts and will try to make one for myself! Please keep us updated on your luxury “minimalist” mindset this year :))
Thank you so much. The pendulum has definitely swung a bit far to my liking, so balance is what I’ll be working on this year. I definitely don’t want to deprive myself of enjoyment and I also don’t want to overconsume and lose sight of what really matters, so thank you for understanding that. I’ll share my journey here and hope you’ll stick around.
Wow, you and I are on the same wavelength right now. I looked at how much I spent in 2020 and 2021 and it was significantly more. My increase in spending was on luxury goods! I look and all the things that I have and appreciate that I have them, but know that I don't need anything more. It is exactly like you said in your last post that you can admire beautiful things without having to buy them. My birthday is next month and I usually always know what handbag I want from my husband months before he asks me. This year I told him, I have everything I want in terms of handbags/SLGs and don't want to spend anymore (for a long time) on those types of items. Even though I don't have that "dream bag" I truly am at purse peace and really don't "need" anything. This year is the year that I focus on being better about finances. We live in California, have 2 littles, a house, cars, etc. Thank you for the eye candy, but for also be the voice of reason. RUclips is a slippery slope and it is hard not to want EVERYTHING that you see others have.
I hear you on the slippery slope! Kudos to you for wanting to get a better handle on your finances this year. I’ll have more videos focused on money mgmt as I’ve received quite a lot of requests, so I hope they’ll be helpful to you.
I love what you you share with us. These are things I sometimes also thinking of. You are gutsy to bring forward your thoughts. I don’t mind not seeing your face because your words and points are very dynamic!
girl I love how this is more like a podcast because I can listen and not worry of missing out on seeing something. I have been doing dishes and about to make dinner so I love this type of video. 🥰
I've been following your channel from its early days and one of the reasons your videos are so compelling is that you are willing to be honest with yourself and transparent with your viewers about how you feel about shopping. You had many amazing bag offers in 2021 and I think you can cut yourself some slack there but it is true that there can be an addictive aspect to the hunt for the next "perfect" bag. And there's no question that brands like Hermes are experts in pushing all of our psychological buttons to fuel our hunger for more, even when we should be "full". Looking forward to hearing more thoughts on this topic and especially if you find effective strategies to resist the temptation for more!
I discovered your channel in my recommendations yesterday and absolutely love your content. I don't subscribe to channels where I can't see the RUclipsr's face but the way you speak has a certain elegance and confidence that I absolutely adore. You have so much wisdom I want to keep listening to. As someone who feel that she has a very late start in my life (back in school at 29 to start a career in PR), the price increases nowadays is a bit disheartening. I love luxury bags and fashion, but I feel I am unable to really indulge considering the rising costs (and the uncertainty with where my professional career is going to be able to afford such luxuries AND a life I want). It's definitely nice to hear other luxury bag enthusiast's journeys and how you only started collecting Chanel in 2019. I definitely feel a bit of the pressure through social media, seeing girls younger than me with a vast collection already! Hopefully one day I'll be able to get to a place of financial freedom such as yourself one day. :) Looking forward to you discussing more about your journey and thoughts! (I hope you do a Q&A video cause I would be most interested in learning more about you!)
I’ll be sharing more details about my journey from age 22 to now, in an upcoming video soon. I hope it will be helpful to you. Also, I did a lengthy Q&A video about a year ago so hopefully that will help you to get to know me a bit more. 😉 I don’t believe anyone is “late” in life. We all have our own timing so enjoy your journey. 💕
Only two minutes in and already loving this video! I'm a believer in luxury minimalism to be able to fully enjoy and appreciate the things that I've worked hard to obtain.
Love how you’re not starting off 2022 with a wishlist! The content in this video needs to be more in the mainstream bc sadly conscientious spending is rarely mentioned in the luxury yt community. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
What an interesting and wonderful video. A great reminder for all of us including myself. 2022 is definitely a year for me to reflect, pull back and just really enjoy what I have at the moment. Happy new year to you and your family
Ty for sharing this information! I really do love to shop and buy new things but sometimes I look at what I have and I think, ‘why did I get this I don’t even love it, use it or enjoy it.’ I realize the impulsivity gets to me and the dopamine hits when I get that confirmation email lol. However I do want to be more intentional with my purchases and buy items that will serve me for a long time and that I just love. I have some Louis bags that I don’t use often, however I have them on display and I smile to myself because they look so good and bring me joy. Money well spent in my book. But that depends on each person and how you choose to spend your money is up to you. I really appreciate your videos. So informative and you demeanor is so sincere I feel like I’m taking to a kind friend who really wants to help!
I know what you mean about smiling when you see your bags. I had a couple bags like that as well - that I loved to stare at, but never used. One was the Chanel rainbow iridescent WOC. I took photos of it and then let it go. Now when I look at the photos, I smile just as much as when I owned the bag. And it makes me feel nice knowing that someone else is enjoying it. Sometimes that’s enough. 😉
This video resonates with me so much. In taking stock of 2021 I realized I did a lot of “boredom buying”. I’m really trying to go in a new direction this year. When I find I’m bored or restless, I’m going to pick up a game or a book rather than always turning to my phone or ipad. ❤️
Wow, what a great video! Your channel is very different from others. Also, you’re accumulated an amazingly chic handbag collection. Don’t be too hard on yourself for enjoying the payoff of your hard work. You have perfect bags! Thank you!
Completely agree. And love your mindset of not depriving yourself (because that never works) but just being mindful and the spreadsheet idea of paying yourself! Wow great idea!! Have you ever thought of using a little of your money to do good in the world? I heard that’s really enriching to the soul and at the end of life you know you’ve contributed positively for the greater good.
Yes!! I always say, giving is better than receiving. Being generous and giving to others is absolutely good for our soul. My husband and I have been supporting several organizations as well as individuals for years now. It’s a priority in how we allocate our money. I will talk about this a bit more in my upcoming money principles video. xx
Enjoyed this video. I have been looking at my purchases and realized I went overboard the last year or two. I am well known for my impulse purchases. I am feeling overwhelmed and ready to clean house. Getting items ready to sell to feel free and uncluttered. I just have too much stuff that I never use. Your video confirmed the way I have been feeling. Thanks.
For the most part I'm a silent watcher. I've been watching your videos for for a few months and never leave comments but this time I feel I have to. I have been thinking about this myself lately because I don't want to feel overwhelmed. Sometimes I feel we buy because of FOMO or just because we are influenced but it's not fun to spend your money on these expensive items to have them sit on a shelf unused. Thank you so much for this video. I'm pretty sure it rasonates with a lot of us in the luxury community.
I really enjoyed this video, the "podcast" nature was refreshing - I actually closed my eyes and listened along. For years I felt so focused on working / earning so I could get to a place where I could breathe (financially). Then when that moment came where I was able to come up for air and not worry about finances so much, I then focused on "catching up" on things I thought I was missing out on - i.e. designer bags, etc. Now that I've "caught up", I feel FULL and actually a little overwhelmed (even by my modest collection). It makes me feel like I've overcompensated and now I need to balance out.. so your video came at the right time, where I'm at! Anyway, greatly appreciate this video :)
Wow, it sounds like we’ve been on a similar journey. Balance is key. It’s not about deprivation. We don’t need to feel bad or guilty, just self-aware about what we truly want and continue to evolve in the direction that feels healthiest for us. I’m so glad the video resonated. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! xx
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos in recent days but this is the one that made me subscribe. While I’ve been loving all the details and your thorough thoughts on your purchases, this video has been the most eye-opening. Thank you for the stats and for the transparency. It’s so refreshing!
Same journey here. I curated a good collection with classic timeless pieces during the past 2 years. Even though it’s tempting, I don’t need to keep adding. It is a slippery slope, and it goes like this: “I want this + 1 more” and it never ends! I enjoyed listening to your reflections. Would love more of this type of content. Thank you!
Thank you for your thoughtful video - I had a similar experience: my shopping spend went up by more than 100% in 2021. Basically I got into Hermes and got four handbags in one year, plus all the accessories and shoes and jewelry to go with it. I love my items, and I use them all the time, and they make me happy, so I consider that money well-spent, but I'm really contented now and don't feel like I need to continue shopping at Hermes (or Chanel or Fendi or VCA or Cartier) indefinitely. 2021 was wild and so much fun, but I'm "full" and contented, and I'm reining it in this year, and will just be enjoying my splurges from last year (with the occasional shopping now and then, still! Because life is too short.) I also have a social media account and instead of unboxing videos, I've been creating more styling videos, which are still fun.
Love this!! I love that you’re going to focus on enjoying what you purchased in 2021 versus making yourself feel guilty about it. That’s key!! Feeling grateful and “full” leads us to more enjoyment of what we have! 💕
Hi! I loved this video it made me realize and pull back on shopping & everything you said! I literally purchased like 5 bags today & don’t think I need them all so definitely gonna decide on what to keep! I don’t need 5 new bags esp if I already have soooooooo many amazing ones, thank you so muc! I definitely needed this!
I was so focused on getting a few high end luxury brands this year (e.g. Chanel and Fendi) but then had a look at other options that may fit my daily life instead and reflect on my financial priorities. I decided to only put a goal onto a Chanel mini this year and looked into other brands such as Coach and Polene instead!!
I look forward to all the new content you have coming up, I am a lover of luxury but it’s not really in the budget for me at this time. I would love to see your other takes on life and living in a consumer driven society at large!
Love the podcast style video, it is nice to hear something different. The opinion and reason. Very interesting statics you pulled. Please keep sharing. Have a great day!
so interesting! its really a lot to see how much people consume lately. I recently watched LVloverCC and her 2 Christmas unboxings and I was kind of in awe of how much she had to unbox over 2 videos, like it was a lot of stuff! It's like when is enough enough, I've been trying to be more "luxury minimalist" or focus on curation like really thinking through my purchases on what to add to my collection!
They've earned it, and if they want and can afford it why not? If it makes them happy by saying love love love with their purchases who are we to judge?i enjoy watching them, What they like, will not apply to all of us and vice versa, calling them materialistic... we can do better. You do you 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate hearing your thought process. You're someone I look up to. I'm much younger and I've been following your videos since around the time you started (100ish subs).
Very interesting video. I felt I’m the only one experiencing this. I definitely splurged in 2021 And feel guilty every single day. But you’re right I will be more mindful and enjoy what I have purchased…. Thank you very much. God bless:)
This discussion really resonates with me. I love the idea about making a spreadsheet for items that you were tempted to buy but didn’t. I might try that too for myself. I would be interested in seeing a video about why you don’t make luxury wishlists and why you will no longer be buying Chanel bags. Thank you always for sharing. ❤️
I’m so glad the topic resonated with you. I really poured myself into the video. Please stay tuned - I will be covering why I don’t make luxury wishlists and why I won’t be buying any more Chanel bags. I’ll also be sharing more of my money practices if that’s of interest to you!
Thank you for sharing your story! I think last year I went a little crazy so I totally agree with you that I’m full. I don’t need it, it’s just a want but I also want to spend my money on other things (I.e saving for a house)! Thanks always Hanna ✨
I enjoyed listening to this on my airpods, cleaning and storing my bags..This video really resonates with me as I was too in 2020 spent shamelessly 100% more than what I typically spent years before due to covid and travel ban.Fortunately, I was quick enough to realise this and in 2021, I spent lesser and keep reminding myself to feel blessed and grateful with what I have.. It was a huge step for me as for years I was a shopaholic..Now as I grow older and like you said- pay myself for future. ive beginning to value money a little more.. I hope I can continue feel this motivated for years 🥰🥰🥰
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Good for you on taking the time to reflect and adjust your spending habits to what feels best for you. It’s all a journey and we’ll keep evolving as we grow.
Really enjoyed this video. Indeed, we are always looking for the next thing but need to be full on what we do already have. There’s a careful balance of what is needed and what can be saved for future plans!
Thank you for the sobering news. Am I gonna stop shopping this year? Probably not but I am going to be brutally honest of what luxury item is going to truly bring me joy. Also, for the first time in my career, I have stock shares. I would love videos on tips of saving and understanding my options. I am 47 with children, my 13 year old will go to college soon. I would love your insight and tips on how to save for my future and theirs. I would also love an eye candy video, too, so please don’t stop that! 🤣 Thank you for giving us the facts and looking out for us! It’s news that I don’t want to hear but need to!
I totally agree with everything you've said here in this video and I'm shocked by the statistic that the avg woman spends 8.5 years of her life shopping. I sometimes feel like I am spending money for the sake of spending money. For example I didn't buy anything over the holidays because I was too busy/lazy to browse the barrage of sales and deals. But then after the holidays, when I start seeing all the goodies that everyone has gotten, it made me want to get something too even tho I have absolutely nothing in mind to buy! It's that feeling of fomo that encourages me to buy things, which I acknowledge is so irrational. I'm trying to be better as well and spend money intentionally. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I enjoyed this video :)
Powerful video, thank you. ✨ I identify with a lot of these thoughts in my own way. I spent a lot last year, and sold a lot of bags to help finance purchases, but now I look at my collection and feel it's really "done." That forces me to ask myself, am I shopping just for the sake of shopping or acquisition, and can I overcome that? My goals in 2022 include no fast fashion, no jewelry purchases, no makeup purchases. One new bag, one preloved bag. No SLGs. I've been thinking of filming a wish list video but it would be five minutes long. I might do a goals video instead.
You hit the nail on this one! Your anecdotes are so true, we need to be more mindful of how we spend our hard earned cash when it comes to luxury. The data…🤯
Thanks for always sharing your personal thoughts and reflections. I always resonate with them as I think about any luxury purchase I want to make for the upcoming year. I somehow missed the giveaways as I had surgery! But I look forward to more in the future as you are always generous to your subbies ☺️
Oh no, surgery? Are you recovered now? I hope you’re okay. Thank you for watching the video. I’m so glad it resonated with you. As for the giveaways, there will be more down the road! 😊 Be well.
The idea of “spending 8.5 years of your life shopping “ is not such a terrible thing for me. I don’t know about other people but most of my shopping time is also time spent with my friends, as I mostly shop with friends. They were precious memories too
Hi, love watching your videos. I've also been debt free for years, and now I'm a stay-at-home mom. Over indulged the last 2 years, and even got my dream bag (Hermes Kelly). After getting the bag, I realized that's not my life style anymore. Ended up selling it at a loss, expensive lesson learned. I use to collect designer bags, but sold off most. Now I only keep 10 bags, started a minimalist approach, and just use and enjoy what I have. =)
Oh wow, thanks for sharing that you sold your Kelly at a loss. Most people consider these bags as “investments” and don’t really there is a real time and money loss involved in some cases. Good for you for letting go of what wasn’t working for you!!
Love this video and it actually left me thinking about my spending. I will borrow some of your strategies to prize myself for things I didn’t buy because I don’t need them! 👏🏻
I spent most of last year not purchasing clothes because I was happy with what I had. I now know what items I do want and what would serve me best and those items are few and far between. Taking a break and enjoying what you have can be so helpful. In terms of handbags and luxury goods, nothing is truly pulling me to buy a particular item (well maybe the Celine 16 bag). I had been setting money aside for a proper bag (chanel or dior) but with the insane prices, I think once I hit the dollar amount I need to spend later this year, there's a good chance I'm going to be so turned off by the whole thing that I'll just have a nice chunk of money to add to my Roth IRA instead.
Love this video! It felt like I was listening to a podcast! I was getting things done around my house while I was listening to your voice. You should make more videos like this one! ❤️
👋🏻 the idea behind the “pay yourself” list is brilliant~ I too am an analytical person and I think it will be so interesting to see that list and total at the end of 2022 to see how much I’ve actually “made”/saved. Ty for the idea and for sharing your thoughts as always ❤️
I always say, pay yourself first. It’s a money principle I’ve practiced since my 20s. I’ll talk more about this in an upcoming video. And the spreadsheet, yes!! What a great idea. I can show the total at the end of 2022. 👌
Love this video, it’s a voice of reason. Would like more about not buying more Chanel and about no wish lists. Really like the spreadsheet idea too. Thanks!
As much as I used to enjoy shopping, I now enjoy selling the stuff that I hardly ever use. So liberating! Besides, watching how much you lose in the process is an additional lesson to live your own life and not the influencer's... It 's all mind games...
@@hellocatwalkcity Once you mentioned abundance, it clicked. Whenever I refrained from buying something, it usually made me feel like I was depriving myself. But your suggestion caused me to think of it in another way. My friend and I have committed to putting the funds in a long term savings instrument, a fund or something similar. Of course, we’ll still make purchases but those things, which give us pause, we’ll invest in ourselves.
I enjoyed this video. I'm trying to enjoy my collection. My husband says all the time, "how many bags do you really need." I get it though. Thank you for being transparent. I love Chanel classic flaps but the pricing now is just ridiculous. I would love to see your video on why you're no longer buying classic flaps.
The thing is, your husband’s question is faulty because we technically don’t “need” any of these luxury items, right? 😂 The question is really, “how many handbags do we WANT” before it gets to be too much? And the answer will be different for each person. I’ll be talking about why I’m not planning to buy any more Chanel bags in my next video so hope you’ll watch! 😉
This video totally resonates with where I’m at in my current life. I set an intention this year to be more mindful of my spending. I ask myself questions; do I have something similar, do I love it? I’m learning to appreciate the things I have already. I do blame the pandemic, my depression increased significantly and retail therapy was my only self care. But now instead of mindless spending, I focused my energy into working out, which has helped both my physical and mental health. And of course my wallet. I’d love to hear your advice and tips on investing.
There's only 6 bags on my wishlist but honestly don't even know if that would be enough either because what if I get them and want them in multiple colors?? The money and time spent sometimes gets me.. the fact that you said over 8 years shopping.. I can't imagine how much money that really is.
I feel exactly the same about spending money this year... how much is too much?!?! Im a casual person and I’ve been thinking how I can save more money as well but all the new colors Chanel keeps coming out with it’s very tempting. Love your videos and Happy New Year!
I really do enjoy your videos. So so helpful. I found myself doing a whole lot of shopping last year- but they only way track my spending is through the company website. for example- when I look at my purchase history and how much I spent at LV I was overwhelmed. Please do a video on tracking the expenses. I love your spreadsheets :-) thank you for this video!!!!
I’m on this journey myself and in a similar financial situation. I felt the same way. Just because I have money doesn’t mean it needs to be spent. I just got to the point when I always wanted more and didn’t feel contented if I wasn’t planning my next purchase. I’m trying to enjoy having the money in my bank account rather then on my shelves, largely unused.
Exactly! Just because we have the money, doesn’t mean we have to spend it. There’s a different sense of satisfaction that comes with saving and investing. 😉
I LOVE hearing this perspective and I love how you are committed to enjoying the pieces you already own. You definitely have a wonderful collection and it is very refreshing to hear how you try to be as responsible as possible with your money, especially since that seems to be the opposite agenda of most other luxury RUclipsrs. I would love to see more comparison videos and I would love to know your opinion on some more affordable options that are comparable to some luxury bags and accessories, you are definitely someone I feel like I can trust for recommendations. Thanks so much for sharing!
I think I’m going to start the spreadsheet and write down how much I’ll save like you said only for temptation and treat myself once a year to a bag that I really love💖 I really love love love your channel and thank you for all the advise u give 🥰
Thank you for this video! It definitely resonates with me. I am trying to be more mindful with my spending. I may steal your spreadsheet idea! Sounds like a good way to keep things in perspective! Looking forward to your financial tips videos in 2022!
Merci. I like to buy some designerbbags sometimes. Then I realised the useful items are necessary like skincare..Clothing replacement. Gifts for family etc
This reminds me of my own experience. One lux item in 2017, one in 2019 then all of a sudden too many transactions in 2021. Completely lost my mind. Taking a step back and wondering why it all happened. Maybe I was making more money or maybe too much social media influence/FOMO. No one to blame but myself. I just know I need to save my $ and spend on something more lasting like a down payment on a home and a nice car. Maybe some land and experiences. Very nice introspection, took the words right out of my mouth.
It’s okay. We all go off track in various areas of our lives - it’s the self-awareness and desire to get back on track that matters! Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
This happened to me too. In 2015 I bought one bag, then nothing until the end of 2020 where I bought a pair of Chanel shoes, then 2021 I bought 7 new bags! I think it's because of the pandemic and I can't leave my country or even my state I live in. For 2022 I plan to not buy any new luxury items, and just really enjoy the new items I bought ☺️
Great insight. KatL also started tracking the money she almost spent on luxury but into a bank account where she can’t access the funds as a financial goal for herself this year. I feel like it will be a good exercise to really assess your spending in order to make the right financial decisions for your life.
Hello fellow spreadsheeter! Thanks for your video, it made me assess and analyse my spending trends. Interestingly, overall it has gone down since 2018, as I haven't been travelling or dining out as much. However, I think what I used to spend on travel has gone to beauty and cosmetic items. I've bought so many eyeshadow palettes, but haven't even had the chance to use them! I think it's due to watching various channels, blogs and reviews. I love watching the various channels and living vicariously through all the luxury buying, but on a whim I walked into Loewe and bought a puzzle bag. I don't regret buying it, but I can see how the shopping experience, the thrill of buying, the packaging, unboxing can be so addictive. This year I might start to curate my social media intake and have been recently adding more finance new channels (although quite boring) just to round things out. I think my change in spending is to fill the void of not being able to travel and the urge of wanting things is over whelming. Agree with you regarding having wish lists, it just makes you pine for things even more. However, I do like to take screen shots or add them to pinterest to admire from afar. Fortunately, I don't aspire for any of the flagship bags, I just need to keep reminding myself they just don't suit my lifestyle.
Curating our social media intake is so important too! I have some favorite RUclipsrs who talk about financial independence, retiring early, investing, etc perhaps I’ll share them in an upcoming video if there’s interest. I’ve done the same as you - taking screenshots to admire from afar! It’s still fun in its own way! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I really enjoyed this video and your thoughts on spending/saving/not over consuming. Your video ideas around investing and saving sound interesting as well. Looking forward to the 2022 line up of videos and thoughts! Also, really appreciate the tracking of how much you would have spent. Great tip!
Thanks Hanna. Since subscribing, I have been watching your videos. I am doing the same as I approach 60. As I am not travelling at all, I use my vacation money to buy what I enjoy. I am reaching the capacity that is full and I am enjoying the process. 😊
This is what I struggle with, we have our mortgage paid off so I noticed since I'm more included to buy things because I can, But there is much more I can be doing with my money. So this year I'm focusing on investing and building up a savings account for experience rather then material things.
luxury minimalism truly sing my heart . Adore all your beauty bags and thanks for eye candy. Look forward for finance & luxury topic in your next video
Oh my gosh yes, this is a remainder for me its ok to stop when you feel full,i dont have any luxury bags yet,but i cant stop buying clothes. .thanks for your video and your voice is so soothing❤️
We all have our thing - whether it be handbags or clothes or cars… whatever it is, once you feel you have enough, enjoy!! We get to decide when we’re happy with what we have. 😊
Discovered your channel because of this video. Missed the giveaway by 1 day but am not mad at all! Wonderful insight and really got me thinking about all my purchases and more importantly, all my time spent on browsing and looking for things I don’t need to buy.. thank you for such honest and insightful video! Just subscribed and look forward to more great contents ❤️
Aw thank you so much for subscribing! There will be more content that hopefully you’ll enjoy this year and there will be more giveaways in the future! 😉
just like you, when i travel it makes me reflect on my luxury purchases. i feel guilty especially going to countries that people don't have the luxury of living life like we do here in the US. time is of essence really... i've been working hard to get these luxury purchases and this year I came to the realization that I need to enjoy what I have and maybe get rid of some bags I own that I don't use that much...
Yes, something about travel that clears our minds. As for feeling guilty, I always say, gratitude over guilt. We can appreciate all that we have and not feel guilty so long as we feel balanced and mindful. 😉
I definitely needed this video. I’ve been wanting a Chanel classic flap but with all the price increases I think for now it’s best to admire from afar! Starting now I will be more focused and smart with my money! I would love for you to go more in depth on finances and investing/stocks! I don’t trust a lot of RUclipsrs but anything coming from you I know is legit! 💕
I think that COVID had a lot to do with my spending. It was a way to fight boredom, but also during this pandemic, my husband had an organ transplant. It was stress upon stress and shopping was/is a way for me to comfort myself. It’s messed up, but it just is. I know it’s a psychological issue for me, so my goal is to get back to hobbies I love. Many things I love to do involve being around people and I’ve had to be exceptionally careful regarding COVID due to my husband’s condition. So, my personal goals are to get back to doing the simpler things I enjoy and take a break from shopping!
Love this concept of a video. We all get consumed in seeing eye candy and wanting so many items. It’s good to take a step back and really think about or purchases and just admiring at times. I feel the same as you 💘 let’s enjoy what we have.
Thank you for sharing this video. I was also feeling myself going into a slippery slope of "needing" certain items! I bought a luxury purse last year that I love!!! Told myself I didn't need anything else, then turned around and bought another one only a short time later... I also love this bag and have gottten tons of use out of both so I'm okay with it (also they are paid off) but now I'm finding myself searching for that next luxury bag... I am so glad you posted this because I'm really going to focus on being happy with what I have instead of searching for more. 💜
This definitely hit home. I panic buy all the time and then I get this remorse feeling of I should have just saved this money. I know that so many luxury brands are having price increases so I want to buy the bags before their more expensive but I don’t “need” them. What I need to do is enjoy what I have and save my money to put myself through med school. I really enjoyed and appreciated this video. It home times a thousand♥️
Wow! This video was so insightful and certainly resonates with me. I found myself nodding and saying "exactly!!" throughout the whole thing lol! I want to thank you for your thoughtful analysis and advice. I will definitely try the spreadsheet idea bc i agree that it will motivate me to invest more. It is a genius idea so thank you! And I would love to hear your thoughts on staying away from chanel classics indefinitely. Be well dear ❤
It can be really fun to motivate ourselves in a different direction so I’m glad you’re open to trying the spreadsheet idea! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I love watching your video. It’s always fun to watch and I feel comfortable with your feedback of items you reviewed. Love all the finances talks and eyes candy… the admiring from a far… ❤️
Paying yourself is such a smart way to put it! Thank you for sharing that. I am also against self deprivation because I do think it’s still a good idea to reward yourself with something you like every once in a while. Before buying something, I always try to think about the number of times I would be able to use that new item considering I have existing items that I still enjoy using. I also try to think about how I have gone through life (happy and contented) without having that item with me.
What a great channel! I love your content. I am definitely very focused on not overspending and having a curated bag collection. Your bags look beautiful.
I am in a very similar situation as you! I purchased *way more* luxury items specifically as I ever have in 2019, 2020 and 2021. I need (ehem, must) cut back considerably. I’m so glad I already have my 401k and Roth maxed out every year. My savings definitely took a hit in 2020 and 2021 and I need to get it back up hopefully! I too want to still shop, just no where near the shopping I did the past 3 years.
I absolutely loved this video and conversation. One thing I always appreciated about you was your incorporation of being financially responsible and making wise decisions. I love your little test where you "pay" yourself... I'm considering joining especially for buying food 🤣🤣
Great topic for discussion...When Is It Too Much? I find that I don't watch as many of the other YT channels I used to because it's the same thing where they just keep buying. Realistically how often can they use everything when no one is really going out as much as they used to. So you've definitely given me food for thought on my own spending habits.
I’m taking a year off work to spend with my new baby …after 6 miscarriages she’s my most precious luxury.looking forward to budgeting to make it happen …love your channel …love from ireland 🇮🇪
Best investment ever…new life! It’s spectacular!
Congrats for you and your baby kiss
Awe babe this is a miracle great choice 🙏🏼
THIS! Absolutely beautiful. Congratulations with your new baby. Enjoy this precious time. There really is nothing more special. 💗
I thought you said the way you give.
What you have posted earlier resonated with me...that we can admire beauty from a far without having to own them. Everytime I am tempted to make a not so well thought out purchase, I will go back to this💞
Absolutely! There is so much beauty in the world. We can admire it all without having to possess it all. Thank you.
Your comments are giving me such good vibes. Thank you! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
No place for guilt! Replace that feeling with gratitude and just start making the changes that make you feel better. 😉
I appreciate the kind words. 💕
girl I love how this is more like a podcast because I can listen and not worry of missing out on seeing something. I have been doing dishes and about to make dinner so I love this type of video. 🥰
Aww yay! So glad to hear this!
Thank you for your kind words.
I love your content. You are incredibly thoughtful. I also enjoy talking videos - I can put them on and listen while I clean the house.
Yay! Glad you can get some house work done while tuning in! Thank you for listening!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
Love how you’re not starting off 2022 with a wishlist! The content in this video needs to be more in the mainstream bc sadly conscientious spending is rarely mentioned in the luxury yt community. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Thank you.
What an interesting and wonderful video. A great reminder for all of us including myself. 2022 is definitely a year for me to reflect, pull back and just really enjoy what I have at the moment. Happy new year to you and your family
Thank you for the feedback. I’m so glad I can be honest on this channel and share my journey with you all. Happy New Year!
Yesss!!! Books are my fave and I find it’s such a healthy and relaxing hobby. Let’s read more in 2022! 👏
Wow, what a great video! Your channel is very different from others. Also, you’re accumulated an amazingly chic handbag collection. Don’t be too hard on yourself for enjoying the payoff of your hard work. You have perfect bags! Thank you!
Thank you so much. xx
Thanks.
I’m glad the video resonated! Enjoy cleaning house! Hopefully it’s a freeing process that makes you feel lighter and happier. 😊
Love this. This is my year to just enjoy what I have and not worry about the next bag. I have plenty.
Yay!! 👏
Yes make a video on why you refuse to make a luxury wish list
For the most part I'm a silent watcher. I've been watching your videos for for a few months and never leave comments but this time I feel I have to. I have been thinking about this myself lately because I don't want to feel overwhelmed. Sometimes I feel we buy because of FOMO or just because we are influenced but it's not fun to spend your money on these expensive items to have them sit on a shelf unused. Thank you so much for this video. I'm pretty sure it rasonates with a lot of us in the luxury community.
Thank you for being a silent watcher and thank you for leaving a comment this time. Means a lot.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! xx
Have a cup of tea for this, I love just listening to your thoughts and views 💕
Thank you my friend. 😘
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos in recent days but this is the one that made me subscribe. While I’ve been loving all the details and your thorough thoughts on your purchases, this video has been the most eye-opening. Thank you for the stats and for the transparency. It’s so refreshing!
Wow, thank you for sharing this. I hope to be able to share more thoughtful content this year.
@@hellocatwalkcity looking forward to the content!
This is why I love your channel. REAL talk.
Thank you!! 😘
Thank you!
There is no end - until we say so. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! There will definitely be more videos like this on my channel in 2022.
Btw been a subscriber for a while now, and I Love your channel and I also have a small luxe channel! ❤️
I bought a Polene bag instead of a Celine bag. I’m glad I did, it’s a great bag and I’ve enjoyed it very much.
There are so many other brands to explore!! I actually talk about this in an upcoming video. 😉
I wouldn’t go for Coach personally. Polene is cool though. Less known. Under the radar.
I look forward to all the new content you have coming up, I am a lover of luxury but it’s not really in the budget for me at this time. I would love to see your other takes on life and living in a consumer driven society at large!
Hope you’re enjoying my latest videos! Seems like they’ll resonate with you. 😊
I found your channel yesterday and I’ve been watching all of your videos! Love your content and your perspective . Happy to be here 💕
So happy you’re here! Thank you for watching!
Love the podcast style video, it is nice to hear something different. The opinion and reason. Very interesting statics you pulled. Please keep sharing. Have a great day!
Thanks for listening to my “podcast”! 😉
so interesting! its really a lot to see how much people consume lately.
Aww amazing, thank you for watching me from the early days. So appreciate that.
Very interesting video. I felt I’m the only one experiencing this. I definitely splurged in 2021
And feel guilty every single day. But you’re right I will be more mindful and enjoy what I have purchased…. Thank you very much. God bless:)
Replace that guilt with gratitude!! No need to make ourselves feel bad. 😉
Thank you for giving us the facts and looking out for us!
Haha so funny about the wishlist video! I’m going to talk about this next.
😊 Be well.
@@hellocatwalkcity I’m on the mend and recovering well! Your videos were a happy pleasure to view while I was in the hospital. Thanks Hanna! 💗
@@joyvillavicencio3501 I’m so glad to hear that!!!
The idea of “spending 8.5 years of your life shopping “ is not such a terrible thing for me. I don’t know about other people but most of my shopping time is also time spent with my friends, as I mostly shop with friends. They were precious memories too
well said.
No one said it was terrible. Just shocking.
IRA over handbag, any day. 👍
Love this video! It felt like I was listening to a podcast! I was getting things done around my house while I was listening to your voice. You should make more videos like this one! ❤️
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I did thanks!
Decluttering and letting go is very freeing, I agree! The challenge is striking the right balance so there’s no more need to sell or let go, right? 😉
Thank you for the saving/investing in yourself option. I shared it with my friend and we are both implementing this TODAY. Thanks soooo much!
Aw love that you shared with a friend! It’s so much easier when you have an accountability partner along for the ride with you! 👏
@@toni-anndoyley7123 Wow, love what you and your friend are doing together! 👏
It's so good to hear thoughts like this! Appreciating the reminder 💕
I’m so glad the video resonated with you. Good for you - switching to exercise as your self care! 👏
Temptation will always be there until we decide it’s not alluring enough! 😉
Thanks for indulging my spreadsheet nerdy-ness! I’ll definitely share more in upcoming videos!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on luxury spending. It really resonates with me.
It’s true it’s such an addiction ..the moment you’ve purchased the item that you are lusting after you move on to something else.
Love these type of videos! I love handbags but I am also always very careful how I spend my money.
Thank you for this amazing feedback. I will try my best to keep sharing along the way.
I think I’m going to start the spreadsheet and write down how much I’ll save like you said only for temptation and treat myself once a year to a bag that I really love💖 I really love love love your channel and thank you for all the advise u give 🥰
Yes! It will be very motivating and fun! Let’s do it together. 😉
Just wondering what they count as “shopping”? Does that include shopping for essentials like groceries, medicine, insurance plans, etc.?
I’m enjoying go out shopping, it’s part of my life and happy , just make sure I manage my money very well, not end up putting myself in the debt
Absolutely!
Great video, I would love to hear more about how you paid off your mortgage in full. Congratulations🎉
Our first property had a mortgage, we sold it and then we bought another property in cash. Hope that makes sense!
The rest of your life is a loooong time! And I love the idea of paying myself for not making a purchase. Great idea.
So glad you like the idea! It just makes the process more fun if we can motivate ourselves. 😊
I really enjoyed this video and your thoughts on spending/saving/not over consuming. Your video ideas around investing and saving sound interesting as well. Looking forward to the 2022 line up of videos and thoughts! Also, really appreciate the tracking of how much you would have spent. Great tip!
So glad you enjoyed it. More to come!
Thanks Hanna. Since subscribing, I have been watching your videos. I am doing the same as I approach 60. As I am not travelling at all, I use my vacation money to buy what I enjoy. I am reaching the capacity that is full and I am enjoying the process. 😊
Aw thank you for your comment!!
I already shared a few videos about my money principles but happy to share more this year! Thank you.
Please make those extra videos (why no wishlist, why no more chanel, etc)!!! I'm trying to be better about luxury shopping this year
They’ll be up next.
Love this concept of a video. We all get consumed in seeing eye candy and wanting so many items. It’s good to take a step back and really think about or purchases and just admiring at times. I feel the same as you 💘 let’s enjoy what we have.
Let’s enjoy what we have! Cheers! 🥂
There is something very fun and satisfying about saving your money, so hopefully you’ll enjoy the process. And good luck with med school!!
Thank you. xx
Definitely not about deprivation. Glad you got the message! 👍
I agree!!! Give me more please! Financial stuff…I love it. Great video and insight!
✨This really resonates with me. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
What a great channel! I love your content. I am definitely very focused on not overspending and having a curated bag collection. Your bags look beautiful.
Thank you!
I really enjoy your honest opinions! I loved when your not purchasing a item, you pay yourself!(like putting in a savings envelope)💕
Thank you!! That’s a great idea to do it with food! Whatever category makes sense. 😉
Why you aren’t buying Chanel and why you don’t make luxury wish lists would be great! Love these longer talk through videos
👌
Great topic for discussion...When Is It Too Much? I find that I don't watch as many of the other YT channels I used to because it's the same thing where they just keep buying. Realistically how often can they use everything when no one is really going out as much as they used to. So you've definitely given me food for thought on my own spending habits.
