    I'm so tired of seeing, "While your experience and qualifications are impressive...". Please tell me how someone with 2 masters degrees (MBA in HR Management, and M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology), along with almost 20 years of experience, gets turned down for everything! I'm at the end of my rope, and just don't want to wake up anymore. I have tweaked, redesigned, reworked my resume more times than I can count, and I can't get a job making what I need to support my family and keep us in our home. I've never been more discouraged in my life.

      Sorry to hear…are you getting interviews?

      How many positions are you applying per day? How much are you matching your resume with the job description? When they ask you tell me about yourself, are you referring back to the qualifications section and elaborating on how you will be adding value to the company based on previous experience? Are you pulling together at 30 days, 60 days, 90 days plan for them? What questions are you asking at the end of the interview? Are you being very inclusive throughout the conversation by pulling references from internal people about your next interviewer? Are you looking your interviewer up and pulling highlights from his/her experience that matches yours, and then using that information to create similarity, emphasizing the importance of those achievements in your life and your future career with them, while building build rapport? Start from there and God bless

      @@rickcrespo4022 This is a great suggestion. Let me add- If possible ask for some feedback as to why your application is getting rejected.

    I had some great mentors back in the 80's including two college professors and a business owner. i learned a lot from all 3 of these people. But now at age 64, I am taking care of my 94 year old mother and would like to work from home. it makes more sense. I did make a mistake as far as burning bridges, when I worked part-time at Target, I enjoyed that retail sales floor job quit a bit, but I was getting burned out at the age of 39 working a part-time job and a full-time job. I quit Target without giving them 2 week notice. My biggest regret.

      Hey Ken! It's totally understandable to feel regret about burning bridges, but it's never too late to focus on the present and future. As you navigate your current situation, consider leveraging your past experiences and skills to explore remote work opportunities that align with your caregiving responsibilities. Additionally, reaching out to your previous mentors for advice or networking connections could be beneficial as you explore new career paths. I hope this helps my friend!

    People mostly decide upon emotions then prove it by logic and some are deciding due to Fear so could you tell how to communicate and convince our boss or potential recruiters into hiring us by using their Fear in a positive way ?? How can it work..

    • @ProfessorHeatherAustin
      @ProfessorHeatherAustin  4 месяца назад +1

      Great question! When communicating with bosses or potential recruiters, it's important to understand their concerns and address them proactively. Highlighting how your skills and expertise can alleviate their fears or concerns can be persuasive. For example, if a recruiter is worried about a lack of experience in a certain area, you can emphasize your quick learning ability and adaptability. Showing empathy and understanding their perspective while confidently presenting solutions can help ease their fears and demonstrate your value as a candidate. Hope this helps!
