They need to make new stuff, plenty of books out there, problem is lot of the writers dont want their books turned to movies, which is a shame. Hands down, one of the best events in Genshin Impact, well written with both dark and funny moments. And Chevreuse, it took one event, ONE EVENT, to become such a fantastic character. And the quality of this cinematic is incredibile, to the point it doesn't even feel like Genshin Impact anymore but an actual movie. The characters' movements are well done and detailed, Morris' facial animation when he was scared and begging for his life in particular. Massive props for the animators because they really stepped up their work, as always. I'm so happy and proud to be part of this community and to witness the work of such passionate developers.
For a limited time event literally themed after old school cinema, you'd expect the devs to style it up with the cinematography. A lot of homages paid to hard boiled noir detective movies, maybe even 90s John Woo if you stretched a bit with the cartoonishly villain monologue here
I agree, the quality of production in Genshin is off the charts for a video game. Sometimes I get frustrated with the game, but the stories and cinematics keep bringing me back. Hats off to the Genshin team that created this!

Chevreuse was a total surprise for me as for how good as a character she is. She was the true star of the whole event! And her VA did such an amazing job.
Morris was a horrible person for that. Killing his mistress, leaving his children orphaned, doing everything in his power to cover up the murder, even go as far as fake not having funding for sponsorship and even sabotaging the film shoot.
“You can keep your mora, and you can go to hell” gave me the shivers. And Veronique being the second musketeer was so shocking and unexpected, I expected Morris to be the one that sabotaged the cameras and stuff but Veronique was so unpredictable. I freaking love this event.
This reminds me of the albedo event. Where they put so much effort in a limited time event, it’s so good. The voice acting was amazing. I feel bad for any new players who’ll miss this amazing quest and cutscene
These kinds of scenes always reminds me of one of the main reasons I fell in love with genshin, besides the visuals and combat, the story telling is always so rich and mesmerizing, just amazing. ❤
I just watched this scene and finished the gameplay, and it was AMAZING. The voice actor of Morris did so well, and the animators animated his shaky/terrified movements so well. And the story here is very creative, for a story to be connected to a novel, I love it.
absolutely loved the way how they used lights and shadows in like 0:42 or 1:07, very contrasting from the usual "bright and happy" genshin looks but served a powerful context in the scene, impressed with the cutscene always keep getting better!!

even though it's just a minor event, they somehow managed to level up quality of basically everything of the game in this one. The writing was fascinating, interactions between all characters were funny and amazing, and the cutscene were so cinematic, not to mention VAs from EN, JP and CN contributed their best performance in the acting, definitely one of the best event of Genshin, I am so glad to see they are taking Chevreuse's character development so seriously and I think it's safe to say she's the most successfully developed star 4 character so far, hoyo just won't stop their progress in production, bravo!
Love the camera angles and intensity during this scene. I really wish Hoyo would hire a separate team to take on creating an animated series even just using this same in game type animation style.

This is what I wanted from the game and always ask for it...more cool background stories or things that shows how a new character is, more characters being together and interacting with each other in these events, awesome cutscenes like in this case and so on. Great job to all involved in these stories, from writers to art designers, voice actors and whoever makes all the great tasteful choices when it comes to the final product.

This cutscene felt really amazing for an event! The shadows, the voices and even the plotwists! I also noticed that the animators are starting to use more props and camera movements during dialogs wich make them a thousand times more entertaining! Really enjoyed the event!

Morris sounds absolutely horrified 😂, and Chevreuse’s voice really reveals her hidden rage (so later when Chev said the thought of killing Morris crossed her mind, I believe it. You could hear it in her tone). And the pressure she asserted was definitely enough to make Morris confess on the spot 😂
After hearing her conversation with Wriothsley, I think Moreis's life being hell in the Fortress of Meropide while the two musketeers will more be seen as heroes will prove cathartic for her.

I have full faith in them with their "storytelling" departement by now. They might lacking in some content or gameplay but I'm all in for their lores.
But this also means that a lot of people who miss this event will miss out a LOT of Chevreuse's character development.

Highly recommend watching Noir films to get context with why this scene has such lighting. Humphrey Bogart (1941) is a good example.
