Not really. If you have access to the AH go mail as much as you can. If you can't get mail for whatever reason ware leather. In rare cases you might go leather over mail just because the mail gear is SOOOOO out of date. Stats don't change. Level 30 cloth / leather / mail X item have the same stam / int. So more armor is better. There are SOME acceptions. The blues for example. Its a cold day in hell when you find a Blue Stam / Int piece, where as they are very common as cloth / leather. Don't be fooled though. That Blue cloth 4 stamn / 11 int is WORSE for you than the 4 stam / 4 int mail gear as the same level. Leather is where it gets debatable which is better. Why? If cloth has 10 armor at X level, leather will have 20, mail 40, and plate 80. Or close enough to double double double. Q the Jojo jokes.
Since plate of the eagle gear is highly overpriced and scarce on HC servers, is it worth using of the eagle mail gear over plate of other types if that's all you could get? IE: gorilla or other non-eagle int plate vs. eagle mail
So I don't need to learn SoR beyond rank 3? Huge gold saver while leveling. Not sure if crafting trinket is possible on solo self-found, as I need to get all materials myself. But cool video, thanks
Solo Self Found for me = Be a Dwarf Paladin, Engi + X Dwarf is nice because you can find chests which have herbs and metal bars for whatever your doing. GO look up a Dark Moon Fair Guide... its one of your BEST gearing methods unironically. Chest Farming = Dangerous below level 30... no Seal of Light to carry you if things get frisky.

Nice one. The original hardcore had a solo self found character (no grouping [exept dungeons], no AH, no mailbox, no trading), so The Big One could only be created by leveling Alchemy to 210 to make the rocket fuel and then drop it and level Engineering to make The Big One. But all that will change if Bliz drops their hardcore servers. The Minor Recombobulator schematic can be bought in the wetlands (Alliance only), but most will still use the Target Dummy, because they share a cooldown. Target Dummies have round about 1000/2000/5000 HP and taunts everything around it.

Truth? You can't really have your cake and eat it too on this one. You have to pick between leveling Ret or being king carry which is the Stam / Int paladin build. Go check out my "don't be this paladin video" and others in that series and you will see what I mean. I have one video where I am soling Stiches. My advice would be to try them both if you like, Ret and Stam / Int pally. Its not like you won't be needing the gear for healing. You will VERY quickly find that Ret Sucks. In preparation for Classic HC i have been binging a shitton of your videos and ive seen how good Stam/Int scales, almost no downtime between mobs , insane mana pool, high scaling seals. But what im curious about is, with a 1h and a shield, with holy talents only going up to consecration and then doing your build and going into prot, can i still heal my allies reliably , or should i honestly say fuck it and be the tank of the group?@@pallytime2156
No. The point is that Blessing of Light while Rank 1 FoLing = +50% mana efficiency. Which is more valuable than the mitigation. You can math it though if you like. its a 1 mana for 2.5 healing on average between R1 and Max Rank FoL's going out. And Blessing of Sanc -14-20 damage per hit at 2s a hit per mob.
@@pallytime2156 By constantly casting, you're locking yourself out of the 5 second rule and auto attacks. No spirit mana or SoW/JoW regen, all you get is blessing of wisdom, and you didn't factor the mana blessing of light uses itself, or the loss of dps you could have done. In most cases, you're either not healing enough and need to do a higher rank anyways, or healing too much when you could be doing something productive and generating mana. You're holding your breath and calling it "efficient breathing" because you left the time out of an "over time" equation. Also, your hypothetical environment assumes damage rarely spikes and that combat never ends.
I am not failing in these assumptions. I have done the math and play tested it empirically. I even made a video with the maths fairly recently. Rank 1 FoL spam with Blessing of Light pared with HOLY LIGHTS is compeative with and often BETTER than max rank FoL spam of any kind. If you don't believe me follow these simple rules. 1. Light the Tank 2. FoL Rank 1's until tank will be half life soon. 3. Time Max Rank Holy Lights so tank never falls below 50% life for more than a second. Go Test. Spirt Regen is not a thing for paladin. That's 7s of down time before you get a spirt tick. We gain our mana efficiency though HIGHL mana efficient / low time efficent spell Casting SPAM Ever seen a warrior, a paladin, and a hunter Solo Onyixia? Is there any particular reason why you consider Malistar's Defender to be part of your BIS PVP gear compared to say Death's Bargain or Shield of Condemnation? Does Malistar's extra MP5 really outweigh the +healing and extra armor/block/+heal/stam on the Naxx shields?
Nope. Lots of shields are better than Maltsters. Its just all I got and is a good "anything happens" shield before I swap to something else. I just don't have any other shields worth a damn, and Malistars is still really really good. Even when you have access to Naxx shields Malistars is still solid in many a 1v1 senario because MP5 is better than most other considerations. Hunter, Druid, Rogue (assuming you don't need the armor). Come to mind. Naxx armor is overkill. Good to have but not a big deal. The 15% chance to slow shield is REALLY GOOD.
My paladin is a time on target BiS build missing a few bits here and there. Malistars is arguably bis for it for a variety of reasons... well any shield with High armor, Mp5, and decent stam = BiS. Time on target SURVIVES enemy attacks unstill certain CD's are used like Nade and 1 trinket... then it goes offense. That whole process can take up to 2m or more and the Mp5 is king for longer fights.
I tried to seal twist crusader to command,both rank 1,faster attack with command procs with rly slow weapon speed. But it's just the game is maded,you can't be much stronger,and it's not even fun like some other specs, one more btn is all we needed with low mana cost to make class fun.
There is a book in Dire Maul West I think that reduces seal cost by 20. So things change when SoR rank 3 is 40mana and command R1 is 45. Still paladins, even if we have an extra button to press like in TBC, can't well afford another GDC. We are auto-attack andy's and I get that that is frustrating in PvE but in pvp its one of our less talked about super powers that we can maintain 100% of out DPS while being almost 100% GCD free to instantly dispell things. A common tactic for say, shamans for example, is to wait tell you judge damage and Frost shock you while you are in 1.3s of GCD to get range on you. Point is free GCD's are SUPER important for us to stay in melee with targets. And when they give you an extra button to press in TBC like crusader strike... often you can't use it because enemy just uses it to run away. Seal twisting in Classic WoW = Our Crusader Strike. You need to know EXACTLY when you can use it. Or you will hurt your overall dps, pvp wise. IN PvE = get that book and twist.

If its not hardcore all you need is INT to heal until raid time.

1 Hand sheild with consecration fighting 1 mob at a time. You level about 10% slower dps wise, but you run less and are SUPER suvivable. Easily BiS.

no one in Hardcore uses Major or Minor Recombulator Trinket... if you can believe that.
