Roger spectacular, but we need to have a chat, where are the P11 bucket seats, and red calipers towards Miami blue? I love Porsche for making all our different tastes configurable. Keep up the good work Roger.
Janko well see my wife insisted on these seats, she struggles getting out of the buckets, and the brakes - an oversight now I see it in the metal, great hearing from you - thanks & best wishes, Roger
@@gsthree9534 I hope Roger will have the same opportunity. I'm happy you view his videos as well as mine. FYI I will have a head to head with 981 Spyder VS the 718 Spyder. Also with the 718 GT4. Thanks for watching my and Rogers channel and for subscribing to us both.
Well done you Roger, for the week following the launch I couldn’t get a night’s sleep thinking about the new Spyder. It’s an absolute stunner. Look forward to seeing your journey in the future. I’m off to sulk in silence 😪. Geof
Great car Roger, looks great in that shade of blue. Just taken delivery of a 992 s from PORSCHE Chester and watching your videos helped us make. the decision over a R8. Your great presentation skills stopped us from moving over to the dark side.

Came here unpretentiously looking after Porsche 718 / Cayman reviews. Found out and amazing car and a simple but very well made and honest video presented by this nice gentleman. Nice on Roger, Abraços from Brasil!!
Great spec and color - would look at home here in SoCal. I've had the 981 Spyder for a few years and was sceptical about the 718 GT4 as the particulate filters seemed to really dull the sound. Your Spyder sounds much better for some reason. Pretty much the same performance as the 981 Spyder. Thanks Roger, a great way to start the day.
its great the way you put these vidoes together it must take ages to do, its well worth it though, this spyder looks amazing and is now on my wish list
Thanks Roger for the review, appreciated. OMG the color alone, 4 liter 450 hp in 6 speed manual and looking better than the Speedster. The GT3 aero into a Spyder body is this the best looking car on the market with the performance to match, no kidding.

Thank you for putting together a truly informative video, the first time I have heard the exhaust note properly 😁 Sounds sublime and looks stunning, perfect specification 👌
Beautiful car, not sure I'd be doing a prolonged burn out bouncing it off the rev limiter especially with Porsche and their rev range reports, but I'm glad you did it for us on video, bet you can't wait for a road trip next spring/ summer 👍🏻
Stefan Grubesic , yes agree but for sure depending where you live, S. CA, S. Of Spain, Monaco, you name it, i would prefer the Spyder if not only for the looks.
Nice video and even better car Roger, that Miami blue colour makes it look even more special. I'm a big Porsche fan, currently owning a 986 and a gen 2 997. I have subscribed and look forward to seeing how your adventures in your Spyder go.

I haven't posted my spec I'm not sure where it is right now, probably in an email somewhere, as for the spoiler I am very aware of its lowness but not touched it as yet !
Nice purchase. Looking forward to the updates. Did you consider the Cayman GT4 before purchase and doesn't the engine need to be broken-in first before full acceleration?
Very nice car. I had to turn the volume off when the engine was loud because I do not want to hear its noise before the delivery of mine in several weeks in France.
Your videos are brilliant and the Spyder productions in no small part inspired me to choose one for myself-python green, but I was very taken with Miami Blue. Delighted whenever you upload new videos. Thank you.
Like the superiority of a mechanical watch over a Quartz watch so is the superiority of the naturally aspirated engine over a turbocharged engine. Nice to see Porsche building a real analogue car as oppose to the digital cars that we are now used to these days.
It’s not based on a GT4. It is a GT4 without a roof! I thinking of removing the 718 badge at the back and replacing with GT4 right beside the Spyder badge 😊. Porsche misnamed this car. But you are right it has no peers. Convertible mid engine manual and NASP. Nothing new has these features. Corvette nope, Lotus nope, Audi R8 nope, Ferrari nope Aston Marin nope, Lamborghini nope..That leaves just the Spyder and the Speedster. that checks those boxes. Thank You Porsche!! It's my tanning machine and in NC you can drive it at over 100 mph no problem as long as traffic is in rapid mode. Love the braking and everything about the car. I seen the design evolve but it still shows the 986 roots. Car might be a tad quicker but in the real world is just as good. I'm retired now and the thought of getting a new one is a no go situation I still enjoy the 986 tremendously and would rather spend my money traveling, that is if this infernal virus and politicians let us enjoy life again.
Awesome review Roger! I have two small questions about your sublime car- congratulations! 1. Many reviews complain about the long gearing, in your experience, does it detract from the pleasure of driving and wringing the car out on public roads? 2. Is it possible for a non-racing driver to reach the limits of grip of this car on the road and play around with it, or is sliding in the Spyder reserved for track days? Thank you!
Tommy Mician thanks, second gear is slightly long the rest fine, its great fun wringing out the gears brilliant fun, and slip sliding in the wet is very much on the cards - you need quick reflexes tho as that tails goes quickly ! in the dry the grip is very high, on track its even better.
All very well extolling the virtues of a great car but where can you buy one? Not mentioned in your film and possibly a prerequisite that it's not mentioned unless you are one of Porsche's 'special' customers! Look forward to what you say about that!!
good point Philip, I'm thinking my next vid on this car will cover this point, in short the Spyder and GT4 are looking good to be more available in 2020.
Congrats Roger! What a beautiful sexy car. If I could I would buy that before any 911 plus real sport cars should only have 2 seats. Thank you for sharing the excitement with us. Absolutely love that car. An epic classic for sure
Wow - congratulations, Roger! Great video - looking forward to more updates on this beautiful machine. I was thinking Boxster GTS but now wondering if I can stretch to a Spyder. Good on ya, mate - enjoy! 👍🏽

I'm retired now and the thought of getting a new one is a no go situation I still enjoy the 986 tremendously and would rather spend my money traveling, that is if this infernal virus and politicians let us enjoy life again.
thanks for sharing this Roberto you have a great car and good to hear you're enjoying it - RB
Congratulations, Roger!
cheers Timo !
Congrats Roger! What a beautiful sexy car. If I could I would buy that before any 911 plus real sport cars should only have 2 seats. Thank you for sharing the excitement with us. Absolutely love that car. An epic classic for sure
Thanh Nguyen yes I agree a real sports car
Congratulations Roger, looks like a fabulous car.
Thanks Martin,
Great video! Your shots made me like that miami blue color jeje
thanks Renzo 👍
Wow - congratulations, Roger! Great video - looking forward to more updates on this beautiful machine. I was thinking Boxster GTS but now wondering if I can stretch to a Spyder. Good on ya, mate - enjoy! 👍🏽
thanks Neil ! you have a tough decision, the better residual value of the spyder is a consideration.
That looks amazing. Congratulations
thanks Alan
I’m anxiously waiting for delivery of mine. I traded my 2016 for this one and that was a glorious car as well. My dealership is allotted just one car (mine) so it appears their production numbers are quite limited. Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for your review.
well done in getting a build slot Tom, hope you enjoy !
