This was a recall issue in the 2006 G6. I had it fixed by the dealer first. About 8 years after that it started having the problem again. I used the dielectric grease trick. That worked for a few more years. Now it's happening again. Will try this fix and see how it goes, but it seems to be a consistent problem. At least it's an easy/inexpensive fix!
If anyone is interested, the first problem I experienced several years ago was the brake lights going off when I hit the brakes and then coming on when I let my foot off of them. This fixes that problem. This time around, my brakes were just coming on randomly...even when the car was on and no one was in it. The issue is with the same plug. This will fix either of those issues.
This is what's causing that..you may also have issues with using your cruise control..I can usually tell when its doing this by applying the brake shifting from park to drive..you can feel it in the pedal.
@@Eagle269Ubet Excellent..keep an eye on it though..they had a recall on this issue a few yrs ago..no new part..just doing what he did in this video..I have to get it done again..*sigh* don't want the same shitty part..mine started about 3yrs in..
Yes. This is the same grease that is used on spark plugs to help with flow of electricity from distributor/ignition coil. Also will help prevent seizing/ corrosion.
@@JPTulo after a while it stops working, another video showed me to dump sun rubbing alcohol and a brush to clean it out and blow the sticky stuff out, that worked like a charm

My tail and front signal lights are coming on even when car is off.. Will this fix my issue?? Plz say yes!! Lol
Well it won't hurt! :)
How do you fix the issue where the brake lights are one when pedal is depressed and off when pedal is pressed?

Fixed it by unplugging the brake switch and plugging it back in. Easy fix.

does this include the rear window brake light??
How do i get that grease off there?
Can you use brake clean?
Thanks Joe
Still seems to only be a temporary fix even after a few tries.
Does the Tune up dielectric grease have any properties on helping the electrical current on that connection, After I’ve cleaned it?
Yes. This is the same grease that is used on spark plugs to help with flow of electricity from distributor/ignition coil. Also will help prevent seizing/ corrosion.

Dielectric grease is non-conductive. It will just prevent future corrosion.
This is gold
