It's another #backtofall video as we anticipate the beginning of a new season and get our homes and our hearts ready for Autumn and all that follows. In today's video I'm sharing with you a big declutter of my kids' closets. I'm going through all of their drawers and hanging clothing and finding what's too small, worn out or no longer needed! We're passing items on to cousins and friends and then donating the rest!
Later on I share a Haul of thrifted clothing pieces that I've found for my kids' Autumn wardrobe. I found some really great pieces at amazing prices and I'm so excited to put these outfits together for them this school year!

The best thing i ever found at a thrift store was when I was in high school I found a prom dress for 10 dollars that was actually a davids bridal dress worth $500 new
I got my junior prom dress a thrift store too! It was $7 and all sequin.
I saw a (pretty young looking) woman in a thrift store once who was buying a wedding dress in there. She said this was already her 3rd marriage and she didn’t want to buy another expensive dress.
6 dollar dress for my daughter. Won a pageant in it.
I was contemplating replacing my every day dishes because so many had chips. I wandered into a local church thrift shop and found a nearly complete set of my dishes in perfect condition for $30. That was by far the best thrift experience I have had!

Love this video! Thrifting is such an amazing thing to do for yourself and the environment. I always thrift first for my kids and usually end up getting higher quality clothing for a fraction of the price. I’ve also had great luck in my local mom groups, too! ❤️
Hailey can still wear the vb bunny long sleeve shirt in fall, its so adorable, use it as much as you can before they wont fit anymore
Joggers forever no matter the age or gender! 😁 My son calls them “hard pants” too. They’re for going out to dinner, church, and such.

That’s true! I had to remind my 15 year old that we use joggers at home, not to school, the first day of school 😃

🤎 Listen, little girls are little just once. I buy whatever I want for my little girl because she’s growing up so fast and already she’s becoming so independent with her clothing choices. When they’re little, there’s nothing wrong with indulging in cute dresses, a different one for every day if you like, in my opinion. They can be thrifted, as you say (most of ours are), and they can be passed on.😊
Yup! Like I said nothing wrong with it, but it’s still good to check in with yourself and teach your ids financial responsibility!
@@NatalieBennett that’s true. I donate some and resell some, and use the proceeds to buy for the next season. By the way, I love how you dress Hailey! Similar to how I dress my Emma.😊
First off, I absolutely love Hailey's glasses! Second, I got the most unique old grandma sweater from an estate sale that has patches sewn on from countries around the world! It is the coolest thing and I am obsessed with it and get compliments on it all the time. And it was five bucks!

I thrift shoes but only if they're in like new condition, or things they don't wear often or for long like snow boots.

I found a navy blue wool pea coat at Good will for $1, size 18 months, for my son who already looked like a little old man. It was so adorable to see him in that as a fairly new walker!

I love fall. My favorite season by far! In a typical year we jam pack it with activities so that has been kinda sad last year and this year as we are still avoiding crowds but I definitely still love leaves turning and pumpkins and apples and spice and everything nice it brings. Cozy hoodie weather, maybe a fire with the family and some hot apple cider. 🍁🍂

Hi Natalie I have had a lot of things from the charity shop and when I have had my use of them I recycle them back to the shop. When I retired I went as a volunteer at the Hospice charity shop. I was there five years and I loved it. Love your video's and your lovely family ❤

Thrifting and antiquing is my favorite! Two of my favorite finds is some old crock dough bowls and then a winged back chair my mom and I ended up reupholstering together. You’re cozy Pacific Northwest videos are tricking me into thinking fall is coming soon! Kansas is still 106 degrees today and Im dreaming of cooler weather! I love finding home decor at a peddler's mall, the thrift store, or a repurpose shop. I decorated every room in our house with secondhand items. When I started decluttering and minimizing in January, I removed most of the decor and quarantined it in our basement. It took me a few months, but I'm finally letting it go a few pieces at a time. Home decor is the one thing I always looked for secondhand first. I just don't want to have so much to maintain now.

Best thrifted deal we ever got for my son (he’s 25 now) as a walking almost year old we left home with a family emergency and I grabbed his ear infection meds, coat, a drawer full of sleepers, his diapers, wipes and two sippy cups, drove three counties over to my moms house in a snow storm and basically dropped him off for what turned into three and a half weeks, no shoes, no toys and no go outside clothes. My sister in law went to a nearby kids thrift shop and got him several outfits and the Best Buy was a pair of Jordan’s for .50 !!! They still had tags, child had outgrown before wearing, he wore those little shoes for months and played hard in mud puddles and ponds before he had a giant overnight growth spurt. Back in the day, those were a hot commodity and something I never would have bought, but for 50 cents, yes please.

You're so smart to spend more on new shoes and save on clothing. Kids outgrow things so quickly, but good foot support is essential. I had two little girls and I bought what they needed while wonderful Aunts, Grandmoms, and Godmothers bought the pretties and frills.

I just LOVE your channel! I am a huge Thrifter recently turned minimalist. I also try to buy most of my kids outfits from thrift stores, except for shoes. I live in western Washington just south of Seattle and when you said you were having a cloudy rainy day I thought whaaat? We haven’t had any rain at our house forever! I’m sad for summer to be going but I am looking forward to some rain and the fresh and green that will follow. When my children were young (mid 30’s now) I loved this time of year for purging and having what seemed like a fresh start to get us through the rest of the year. You have some awesome helpers! 🤎
