Not only is that ideal I also think it’s the Chiefs toughest path assuming if they beat the chargers they’d then face the bills. Idc not our year likely, I’ll take anything other than a chiefs 3peate
We win out, Cincy beats the Steelers after beating the broncos, broncos beat a resting chiefs: the 6 seed Steelers beat the ravens and Chargers beat the Texans then have the 7 seed broncos beat the bills then home vs the broncos who beat KC in divisional and have a home AFC champ game vs a 7 seed. Is it possible? Not likely but it can happen. I just want Buffalo or Baltimore taken care of for us in the wildcard and for us to get that 5 seed and stomp Houston which gives us a shot. Or just get the 5 seed and have the other wild card teams lose so we get KC as that’s the easiest opponent in the divisional
@ I know. How about just Cincy beats the Steelers and we win out? That’s about 30% and we get to the divisional and hopefully the other wildcards lose so we can get revenge on KC? I’d be happy with an afc champ appearance year 1 due to seeding benefits as I don’t want Buffalo or Baltimore round 2… much more likely. We’d face Buffalo or Baltimore in the afc champ in this more 8-10% more realistic scenario with a afc championship currently sitting at 3% according to Vegas. Our best path is Houston then KC, or Pittsburgh then KC both of which can happen if we just win the last 2 games we need and the bengals I am calling it, they will beat the broncos. Let’s hope they get to the Steelers week 18 with something to play for IE: a game like the broncos week 18, or colts haven’t won out already before the game starts
True they did give the Bills a tough time but you have to remember that Josh Allen was playing through injury and the Bills defense isn’t as good as ours
Hope the Chargers play the Texans or, as unlikely as it is, the Steelers. The Ravens are not up and down anymore. They are on fire except for their kicked, ironically. They’d likely smoke the Chargers again. They’d at least have a shot against the other two. No way they are blowing out the Texans. Herbert just doesn’t have the weapons to blow any playoff team out. Would love to be proven wrong.
While the Patriots and the Raiders are "beatable" based on their respective records, counting either of them as "wins" as a matter of course is a great way to get ambushed. They need to go into both games wanting to not simply win them, but rather prove themselves worthy of making the playoffs. There's nothing easy about an NFL game, especially this late in the season. I can remember the Chargers losing to a feckless, winless Browns only a few years ago.
You’re absolutely right. This is one of those times that proves the Harbaugh regime is different from their previous coaches. Under former leadership these are games the Chargers lose. Hell, they wouldn’t even be a playoff team under them to begin with, so they gotta go into these next two weeks and show things truly are different now.
@@Jamookems I'm cautiously optimistic. I still think they're a draft and Free Agency away from a legitimate deep play off run. Two if all goes well to see the inside of wherever ever the super bowl is held as anything other than a spectator.
@@DirkSayers yeah I don’t think they’re a legit contender either yet, they definitely overachieved this year. They could maybe steal a win in the first round, but I’m not betting on it. They have a lot to do in free agency and the draft like you said
I'm curious if the Chargers OC took notes from the Broncos. The 4 headed running back attack with constant fresh legs could work. Herbert just needs to throw 153 yards to be #1 in passing yards for the first 5 years of all QBs. I don't think they are thinking about it. But the Chargers OC, is just now getting used to a throwing QB. Chargers are also getting back a WR that went deep a lot in his early games. They may ease him in with JK. Also, I wonder how much pride the Raiders have to win. They could have a higher draft pick with the loss.
As a Charger fan Texans would be best, but probably not happening. Steelers would be better than bills. Even Chiefs would be better than bills or Ravens specifically for the Chargers.
Ideally we’d want the Texans although they have Joe mixon . Who ever we get we can’t take them lightly i want us against the best team possible I don’t want a cheap asterisk playoff win ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Under current Schedule Guidelines a 4th place schedule doesn't mean much. All teams in the AFC West play 14 of 17 games against the same opponents. This year they play the Pats and the Titans who had down seasons, but the 3rd team was the Cards, who are in the hunt to win their division.
@@donsturtevant5031 You’re right. I thought I had typed “Chargers have more wins and will have even more because of a 4th place schedule” but distractions occur with pets and grandkids around the house. As best I recall the 4th place schedule always adds 3 4th place opponents to a season. The Chargers have played 2 of the 3 so far, and only benefitted by 1 win (Titans). If they are lucky, they’ll get another with the Pats. I’m not impressed by the Cards. 2 previous seasons with only 4 wins in each, and they are not above .500 in a currently weakened division. They could only manage 17 against the Chargers, but that was more than our 15. Our record against good or even mediocre teams is, well, bad. Chargers will likely end up with 11 wins 🤞which will make for a difficult 2025. Happy Holidays
i'd rather have to go to steelers as a charger than going to ravens ....harris would be easier to stop than king henry ....but going to texans would be the best !!!
I think BILLS would be the best matchup tbh I think we beat them I like my defense against theirs a chance for Herbert to establish he's better then Allen 😅
Dude. I think you think too much. If you play someone twice and you won the first time. You start off doing what you have been doing, what got you here, dance with the girl you brought. But with your thinking; "We won and now I don't know what to adjust." - Seriously? LOL Every coach plays devil's advocate and puts themselves in the other team's shoes. If I was them and we lost like that, these are the adjustments we would need to make (now you know what adjustments they will probably take). I doubt they sit there scratching their heads saying, "We won the first time so now I don't know what to do to adjust...." - LOL
Look the chargers are good but they’re not great and to reach that level and prove greatness, they will have to win out and that’s just not going to happen. You have to look at reality or get disappointed. Be thankful if they even get into the playoffs this year.
They have too be healthy , run the ball , play defense . Herbert will take care of the rest .
Best case for Chargers is to play Texans then Chiefs.

Divisional games are always a little weird. The Browns beat the Steelers and Ravens this season
Did yall watch the ravens game or did u just check the box score I don’t want any parts of the ravens game
Being in the playoffs after 5 win season and only losing Keenan Allen, Mike WIlliams and Austin Ekler makes me think we finally hired a real coach.
