Yes sir! You gotta do more episodes like this. Huge trout is the focus of many Texas coastal fisherman.
I’m starting to feel more comfortable with my abilities to find redfish, so y’all should start seeing more trout content.
Have a large flat in the backyard but there's one specific drop I like to fish in the winter time. Always holds tons of trout of all sizes. Super fun on the fly! Great vid
Thank you!
I love this video more then the rest! why you may ask, well honestly specks are my favorite fish, i have so much more fun fly fishing for specks then red’s because they cooperate and usually give you consistent action. ive had 25+ speck days in 3 hour sessions on the skiff on fly while guys are out there there targeting one or two reds max. I understand the fights drastically different but i think i kinda prefer non stop action versus the long stalk…i guess thats the adhd side of me speaking 😂 my pb speck so far was 25” caught in a creek just north of mosquito lagoon in Florida. Im glad more people are getting into it, such overlooked fish!
I can’t wait till I get trout dialed in and can start having days like that.
@@TheSkiffWanderer i for a long time was using all kinds of fancy flies and they did catch them but on the days im whacking them back to back to 25+ fish days has always been done on a clouser 😂 it actually kinda bothers me that it always comes back to the clouser.
During the winter i find them the easiest to find. I target them in any kinda depth change to the surrounding flats no matter how insignificant the change is any extra depth will help, bends in tight curves of creeks, or any creek/river/channel/or cove that runs/sits east to west to protect them from north winds, always fish the southern shore lines because they warm up first. Look for the usual trout are here signs like osprey sitting out or near the flat/depth change, slicks on the water, watermelon smell in the air, shrimp flickering, depth change but close to some shallower water to sun in as day changes, and maybe alil moving water but not always necessary…last thing they feed pretty commonly on those major lunar phases of the moon kinda like how a pike or musky would!
@@nitronick1220 I’m on the space coast and love this time of year. Finding em on the flat sitting in stingray holes behind grass patches waiting to ambush anything that swims by. Super fun stuff
Can’t wait to get back down there to chase some reds. Great video!!!
Thanks!
