I was surprised this wasn’t a bigger hit than it was - it’s a terrific ballad, it’s my favorite song of his.
Rod was very brave with what was considered androgynous in the late 1970s, disco influenced music for a rocker, tight clothes like Olivia Newton-John in Grease, hair and makeup like Debbie Harry of Blondie, and campy moves that weren’t seen until David Lee Roth’s stage act in the mid 1980s.
