Neriah - As a Bulldogs supporter I always love watching Ben Barba highlights but it always has a touch of sadness attached! Before he played first grade I remember when he played in the Reserve Grade grand final and stripped the ball off his opponent late in the game and raced away 30 meters to score under the posts. I turned and looked at the wife and said to her "this man is a freak - he will help the Bulldogs win a premiership one day!" He helped Cronulla instead!
Seems odd that we went from having the best fullback/winger/centres in the game to having what we do 5 years later.. barber did so well, morris bros were firing.. now we have neither.. not even a forward.. tolman can only do so much.. hes only a small guy..
Barba has and will always be my favourite player. He inspired me to play rugby league and now I am a Division 1 fullback because of him.
