Thank you! The foil wrap is a great idea, was thinking of using ridged foam at first, your idea much better.

Hi Cary, I’m pleased that you think so and that it has worked out for you. All the best. Ian.

Excellent work! I was thinking about putting inline fuses on the pad that I'm adding (that's how they did the ones from the factory), but I'm planning to insulate the underside and would then have to remove a bunch of that to get at the fuses. I may move all the fuses inside to keep from having to cut too many access doors in the insulation.
I ordered UltraHeat pads, but I'm in the US - not sure if they're available in the UK. I have read that the facon's are spotty at best.
    Thanks for the video!

Hi there and thanks for your comment. You definately need some fusing between the supply and the pad and as you say it would probably be better inside the van for ease of accessibility and the possibility of water ingress if they were outside. You’re right about the facon pads, one of mine didn’t work from the outset but I couldn’t really test before fitting as I had to wait for the temps to drop in the fall and so have replaced it with a tank blanket brand that we have here, I’ve not heard of the ultraheat ones but I hope they work well for you. All the best. Ian.

With hindsight, would you suggest winterising the tanks before you installed them?

Hi Roy, in hindsight yes I think it would be possible to make a better job of the insulation if it was done beforehand, and also you could put the self adhesive heater pads in place too and just fasten the wiring up until you got round to finishing it off. Don’t go for the facon heater pads as one of mine dosent work 😣 cheers 👍

Hi, can you post a link to where you purchased the heater pads, thanks

Hi, I bought them from Amazon but I have a problem with one of them not working so I wouldn’t recommend them, I’m thinking of replacing this faulty one with one from ‘tank blanket’ they are more expensive but are better quality. I’ll be mentioning this problem in my next video.
