I think that opinion (that I agree with) was unpopular before but since launch I've seen a lot of people coming around on his new vibe, his animations are probably the best in the game imo.

I feel like Rain is more of a counter zoner than he is just an actual zoner. Without his water shield he isn’t gonna out zone many characters with quicker projectiles His tools are slow but they do knock down and push back quite substantially
Actually glad he isn’t a ninja anymore. Makes him more unique at least, to separate him from others. Seems like they intend to flesh him out more too story wise, so that's good too. Gameplay wise, lovely. Definitely a zoner, but there still seems to be plenty of ways to effectively use him up close, even if further distance is most optimal. For sure in my top 3

Hi, So I’ve been playing on my dualsense edge and was thinking of getting something a little more tailored to fighting games and MK in particular. I have a tough time with diagonal inputs on my current controller. Do you use any specific type or brand of controller you use or reccomend?
What's the problem ? from left to right and top to bottom. First punch, second punch, first kick second kick. 1, 2, 3, 4. it's just a matter of minutes to print it in your head forever.
All my favorite characters from mk10 and 11 didn’t make it into mk12 and I wasn’t really comfortable with anybody except scorpion and rain. This video really helped me get back into the swing of things for the new game.
So I really like how you broke it down for me but I found something with him you can use montaro rather then the portals to get in faster and do more pressure
As a rain main, can say that he doesnt know what he wants to do. His range and mid range is too slow and falls to footsies, full screen shooting is not recommended as everyone else has better options bet. I find myself pushing in and just playing him for the mix and combos. Feels veryyyy weak, def not my zoner im looking for.
I personally wish they made his super kick into a special and not just one button, cause now you need to hold it, like who on earth is gonna let you do that lol???? I find the water gates useless, everyone already knows why they're there

Yyyaaa my theory is they were making injustice 3 and so “Aquaman”s model became Rain, hence the staff, and similar water abilities. But they just kept the staff, cuz they were crunched on time
Bro I swear Onestep has been carrying me learning characters. I was thinking about dropping my main Liu Kang for Kenshi (I learned to play Liu Kang from him) and watched his video on how to learn Kenshi. I decided not to though because I thought it was too hard so instead I learned Kitana and now she’s my sub-main. Thank you so much Onestep for advancing my skill and knowledge in MK1. You really did help me a lot and I’m proud to say that I’m subscribed. ❤
I’ve been to many tournaments, and have played many fighting games, and I’ve seen both D pad and Joystick, I’ve found that it’s usually user preference. I used stick for years and found it more comfortable. But I could see why people might use the Dpad. I use a hit box now and will never go back to controller tbh 😅
