  • Everything was soaked today. we did (did it up, v4) all the way to the top out just to realize snow makes it impossible so we did that and then we got a decent sesh on sentinel traverse and then went to do this (me and Ethan). At the end of the day we met Bryan and Boe and found a new contender for the most sandbagged v4! Woodward arete. Yosemite then closed shop and started raining on us. toes were cold today. 1/9/23

    are there any exercises you do to be able to just raise your foot that high so easily? or is it just from climbing experience

      Yea I do a 15 minute hip opening stretch routine before i start climbing and have noticed a huge a difference. My two favorites are the pancake and frog stretch!

      It goes hand in hand! You will get more flexibility and strength in those positions the more you climb…. But you can expedite that process insanely fast by adding in a simple, not over complicated stretch and warm up routine. Even just doing a dynamic stretching routine before climbing helps immensely. I also add in some light finger board warmups to help aid my session. In terms of a light fingerboard warm up, I’ve noticed it tend to lead to harder sends, less warm up on the wall, and less pump as my session progresses.
