    First question: Did you feel like the 'extract' worked well and provided a flavor that you could actual taste - did it really taste like lemon . . . and it didn't harm your machine? Second question: How much of the "flavoring" did you put in with what amount of sugar?

    This was helpful but don’t you need to dry your sugar a bit so that it doesn’t form strings and is light and airy. Also you need to use extracts NOT essential oils as that can be dangerous thanks for the vid though

    • @RichardDeering99
      @RichardDeering99  5 лет назад +7

      Thank you for writing to me. Indeed, I use extracts, not essential oils. The extracts I use are typically made by a company called McCormick, which used to have a giant factory in Baltimore. I had been by that factory many times as a child. It is out of business at that location now, and I think that 1 wall of that factory forms the baseball field for the Baltimore Orioles now. It is called Camden Yards. It was a famous site in Baltimore for many years.
      A slightly better result will be obtained by letting the sugar dry before putting into the machine. It will indeed be lighter and fluffier. But just a little bit, as the machine will melt the sugar concoction into a liquid form before spinning it into the cotton candy.

    • @RichardDeering99
      @RichardDeering99  5 лет назад +1

      If you were using a cotton candy machine, then something is the wrong. A cotton candy machine will melt the sugar. The cotton candy machine then spins the melting sugar in a rapid circular pattern. That is how the machine makes cotton candy. If your machine is simply burning the sugar, but not turning it into cotton candy, then it is likely that your machine is not spinning fast enough. May be that there is a problem with your cotton candy machine.
      It is literally that simple. The cotton candy machine melts the sugar and then spins it rapidly to make the cotton candy.

      It tastes exactly like lemon!
      The Peppermint tastes exactly like Peppermint.
      I use too much extract, but the result is perfection. Each extract delivers the flavor selected and desired.
      No one can get true flavors from the pre-packaged sugars that are sold in-line. I bought the standard 3 pack online for $25. I read the list of ingredients. The so- called strawberry flavor had two ingredients: sugar and food dye. No strawberry extract. When I made cotton candy using that particular item, it tasted just like all cotton candies made with pure sugar.
      It was out of my frustration with that experience that I experimented and figured out that I could make true flavors using extracts. It turned out to work perfectly.
      My oldest son loves pepperment. So I made cotton candy using peppermint extract. He absolutely loved it.

    But you are using artificial colors and flavors. Those are not good for us. You need to get yourself all natural colors and flavors.
