I am so happy he was found alive. I am in my 60s and I go hiking every weekend. And anything can happen. Even for us old timers that have been hiking forever.
This reminds me of an old song, that I love.I once was lost but now I m found.Thank God for all of us that were lost, but now we're found.Prayers for the families of those that weren't.
So grateful Paul was found. We never know what’s waiting for us when entering the forest. It’s more daunting than people realize. Paul should’ve never hike alone. Great to hear he made it out. ❤️💯🙌🏼
Sending gratitude to ALL searchers EVERYWHERE who use their skills and empathy to search for the lost. Sometimes those who go missing may have acted in an irresponsible way while others, like Paul, are seasoned, responsible hikers. Thankfully, the searchers don’t require a personality profile before caring enough to set out. None of us is free from making mistakes; unfortunately your immediate circumstances often make one, seemingly small, mistake a tragedy. Thank you, Bryan, for your concern and kindness towards all - even the detractors❣️🐅
Where would we be without S&R here in the UK and around the world we should always be so greatful to these people sometimes in life things happen thanks to people who put there time and effort to help others Like your Chanel Allie Edinburgh Scotland UK 😊
@@alireid5235 I get lost returning from the loo in unfamiliar buildings! (Severe dyspraxia.) I definitely wouldn’t go on hikes on my own, as much as I might love to. London, UK here. 😊
Thank you Bryan. Yes, I would like to know what Paul Benson's thoughts were about what he feels he did wrong to get himself lost. He may be able to help others and his rescuers should others find themselves in his situation.
Thank goodness for the rescuers and searchers. A happy ending. Your photographs show a stunning & absolutely beautiful place. I see mountain lions and bears though so probably not for me. Thanks for your videos and the time you put into them.
I hope they ask all the people who were lost then found. Their experiences, their thoughts, and the area they were found vs where rescue teams looked. This will help increase finding others lost if we can get as much info
It's so easy to get lost in the woods. Everything can start looking the same, and it's easy to get turned around. As you have recommended, a personal locator beacon can be lifesaving.
Finally, a win!! I'm so relieved for Paul and his loved ones. There have been other positive outcomes but sometimes it seems like such a long time between them. It's because of good people like you, Bryan, that we have as many of them as we do. Some days I'm up, and days like today I'm down, so this was helpful for me too. Both you and Paul are an inspiration to keep fighting. I hope these events lifted your spirits as well.
Anyone who thinks folks are wasting their time searching for the lost. Should consider that they may some day need some stranger looking for them or a loved one. My 10 year old grandson went missing during a hike and I was thankful that they were able to get volunteers so quickly and he was found within hours of going missing. 😅
That's right Bryan, some heartwarming news: about 97 percent of missing hiker cases are resolved within 24 hours, and most of the people are found alive. Only about 3% are lost and never found.
Thank you for sharing this positive outcome with us. I can't imagine how frightening it would be to suddenly realize you don't know where you are and don't recognize anything. This had to be awful for an experienced hiker who expects to see something familiar or hear a voice they know and can then get back home. I pray that he is able to go on doing what he loves for a long time.
Be nice to hear a few more details? How did he survive? It typically gets cold at night in King's Canyon Park. Often high 30's. Sometimes September remains warmer (high 40's), but still cold enough to die from exposure. What altitude? Lakes usually have trails and remnants of campsites? Was he immobilized for some reason? Or did he simply decide to stay put? What was he carrying on his day-hike? Will watch for a follow-up story.
Hi Bryan, Thank you for the video! I'm so happy that this man has been found and reunited with his family, no worries about your voice on some of the other videos it's like you said it's human emotion and it's okay to feel sad about someone of these cases it means you care even more about helping get awareness out in hopes the missing get found. Continuing to pray for you and your family during your time of need. Have a great day ☺️
I need one of these every once in a while. Two areas of interest I have are missing hikers and airplane disasters. Sometimes as a counter-balance I need a missing hiker story with a happy ending and an episode of Mayday: Air Disaster where the pilots pulled off a miracle landing.
To the people who leave cynical comments, like: "Why do they continue to look for these people? " I would like to say, " Wouldn't YOU Want them to continue to look for YOU? " What if YOU were Out There, barely clinging to life? And they GAVE UP 1 DAY TOO SOON. Or even if YOU died, would YOU like to think about a Wild Animal eating YOU? Sorry for the RANT.... But I think it's WONDERFUL That these people DO continue to look for YOU, as long as there is a chance that YOU might still be alive. Thank You, Bryan for your interest and Concern for these Human beings, that just got lost Somehow. God Bless You, and Take Care. 🙏🙏🙏
What a wonderful update! Thanks so much for the update. It was nice to have your background information about the area where he had been hiking. I hope that you get feeling better soon.
Brian you are so compassionate and your channel is very informative. I appreciate you and I can not understand how anyone would say to give up on a search. I help with lost dogs and it’s heartbreaking when the outcome is not being able reuniting the dog with their families. I hope I strike gold so I can fully support your channel.🙏🏼 when I found your channel I watched every episode I could find. I’m so grateful this man was found.
I have two videos lists of disappearances, one says solved and the other unsolved. There are FAR less in the solved list. I'm happy I can add his disappearance to the solved list. It's very rare. Even if someone is found I don't consider it solved, unlike this one. 😊

If he went missing, it’s kind of self explanatory that he did not return to camp. And we ca also conclude that nobody knew where he was. That’s why they say he was lost.
This is for the ones that left comments, Why do they spend so much time looking for these missing people. I will just say this, how would you like it somebody said the same thing while you had a missing Loved one. How would you feel about that.✝️✝️✝️💯🆓🇺🇸🦅🛐🕎
Why didn't you show on the map where he was found as opposed to where camp was? And give us some insight on what the heck happened and how he survived. Oh and do yourself a favor and stop apologizing for your voice. It is a little scraping. Man up a lil.
OK Mr. So I'm curious what do you do? You say man up. I work a full time international job, while using all my vacation time to go and help others. The fact that I apologize for my voice after losing my best friend and dealing with a chronic illness... I'm just curious what you do and there's strength in needing others. Not weakness. We have a winter training program scheduled in a month. You're welcome to join. I appreciate and always welcome feedback so thank you🙏 but I disagree with you in the fact that I don't think showing my emotions makes me less of a man. But like I said thank you for watching and your thoughts. As to your question, if I knew or had more info I would share it. All I know is what I reported. If I had more info I would have let you all know. If you have any more questions feel free to email. Take care.
@@bawattsyl no reason to get emotional. Really. I just shared some thoughts i had. That's all. I appreciate the channel and your work. Hi I am well aware that today people look for deeper meaning entendras and implications. And just consider the last thing that I said just think about it it's just a thought. Usman in the West have become feminized to one degree or another. My little effort there is just to stop the acceleration. Apologizing when one does not need to does weaken the soul.
