Judge, happy to see your enthusiasm for the 15. At first, I was very disappointed with this pour, however, one and/or first taste should not cloud opinion on any bottle. Happily I enjoyed the second and subsequent pours. With this and many other current releases I am finding that the one to two hundred category does not guarantee exceptional whiskey. I stand by my top bottles of Old Carter, Kentucky Owl, Four Gate and even my recent acquisition of Obtanium Light as examples of great drinks within the range. The overall demand for product has driven prices way beyond where they should be. I do appreciate your insights. I would love to have a drinks with you and be able to talk about it. Have you considered zoom or streamed tastings?

My wife graced me with some spending money last month. Went to a local liquor store and they had two bottles of this for $129. Bought it and it’s sitting in my collection. From all the reviews, including yours, I know I’ll like it. Great video/review!

Judge! I literally just got a bottle the other day. Will be opening this weekend. I really enjoyed the 14 year. Mine was a cherry bomb. Excited they made the 15 a 105 proof. Cheers and thanks for the review

Calumet is truly a very nice pour. I love it. I keep tasting it next to the Houston 15yr and so far I feel the Calumet beats it by an edge. 😁

Absolutely I’m with you. Big gamble but for my palate it paid off.
I like the judge. Seems like he usually can taste the same things I do. Some reviewers, try as I might, I can never match up to.

Great review. Its a great pour for me but I am partial to oaky-char heavy bourbons so I do like Calumet 15. It is sourced but not like a lot of these new brands it seems25. They have had their barrels for awhile. From their website: "For over a decade, we have been aging and caring for a large reserve of private bourbon. Barrels are selected by a set of rigid criteria and only pulled when the bourbon inside is truly ready to become Calumet Farm Bourbon."
Im always a fan of a good oaky bourbon. Just hits home.. cheers

I really love the unpretentious nature of your videos, Judge. The little "mmmm" after your first sip told the story. Saw this at the store the other day but couldn't pull the trigger at $125. Might go back now, but it's probably gone cuz they only 2 bottles.

My G bourbon judge grabbed 2 Blantons today 2 ER a Makers 46 cask and traded a Blanton for an Obtanium it was a decent little Thursday hope urs was broski!!! Chindon

The 10yo is the same source as the 15yo. That said, the extra years of aging on their 14yo, 15yo and 16yo showcase how much the added years can add :)
Maybe how they blended it, is the difference. That and age. Cheers
I've never been a fan of Calumet either but I saw this at Costco for $108 and couldn't pass it up. I'm glad I didn't. It is very tasty and I like it better than my Sam Houston 14 from last year.

A 15 year old bourbon at $125 would have been a HUGE disappointment if it had been a 'no buy'. I was apprehensive for the time you took to bang the gavel, however, happy to see that your $ was well spent. Just wanted to know, to whom will you serve that 8 year old Calumet you did not like ?... cheers and cheese 🥃🧀!!

This stuff is Amazing but my 15 year Dickel takes this for a run for its money lol.
It's available here (Chicago area) but I can not pull the trigger on $100 whiskey. I feel guilty buying Rare Breed at $50, and I love Rare Breed.

Yeah, that’s reasonable... but what will it cost a year or two from now? For me, the answer was obvious so I bought as much as I could afford since this is so dang good.
I've only got a store pick single barrel bottle of Calumet from '17. 86 proof, NAS, source & mash bill undisclosed. Definitely not worth the $50 I paid for it. It's not really a drain pour but I need to pawn this on somebody to get it off my shelf. That wide ass bottle takes up way too much space. Good to hear the 15 is good but I'll probably still pass because this bottle has left a bad taste in my mind.

For me the 14 is the biggest disappointment and waste of money of any spirit I've bought. Oh and BTW it's pronounced Kal-you-met

I've tried it once at a whiskey tasting and I would not spent more than 45 on it not worth 125. For 125 I'm buying a damn good scotch.
