you need to put the thermometer thru the preheat and about 20-30 minutes also. the oven will heat the air faster than the item in it so for an accurate reading of oven thermometer...pre heat plus 30 min. then see if the temps coincide with your oven knob...cheers!
My GE is driving me nuts. I set it say 450 to bake some fish and tten minutes later hit sto and reset it to 450f, and the temperature shows 260f. Even with cycling, it should maintain within 25f.
@@steveodonnell2921 you pull it off because if it is showing the wrong temperature, then you can push it back on to temperature the temperature gauge shows you. This is how you can now make the knob show the correct temperature.
This is not the correct way to do this because most ovens are digital now. Also wouldn’t that mess up turning the oven off because it would still be left on a little bit?
Watch Video using a paste of Dawn, Vinigar, water & Baking soda but leave overnight then put racks in very hot water and wipe with a steel wool or a firm brush, use hot water to wipe out inside of oven....will be very clean and not much scrubing...Also in your video, you need to mention if your oven has a calibration feature, if it does you can do that after instead of moving your knob...but it could be your oven sensor or your baking lower element, likely one of these, or just watch the other DIY fixit videos...lol
That thermometer is the shitiest one that you can use and you will always get the wrong results. Invest in a K type thermocouple that attaches to your multimeter!
Not everyone knows how to hook a thermocouple to a multimeter. Which I am sure costs more than this effective way of doing it. My temp has been perfect since I did this. But hey, thanks for the input.

I didn't know that! Thanks!
All this poor print will disappear after few months CLEAN...
Hello, I have the same model of gas stove, and my question is whether there is a way for the stove to display the oven temperature on the screen?
Not that I am aware of. We don't really have a screen on ours that would do that.
So the knob temperature now lines up with thermometer. Why is the blue temperature light still on?
With ours, as long as the oven is on, we have a blue light that is lit up. 2 actually.
Thank you
You are welcome!
The brass pin is milled at one site, the button is always sitting on the pin on the same direction
Interesting, this doesn't sound like it would work for you.
How do you know the oven is off now that you adjusted the knob?
Because when you turn the knob to off, it's "off." Most ovens have 2 knobs. One for the setting and one for the temperature.
Brilliant fix, I’m going to give it a try ! 👍
I hope it works for you!

Yikes
Thank you.
You're welcome!
what if you turn the dial as far as you can and the thermomemter reads 325
Don't do that. hahaha
Now the knob is not lined up when it is set to off.
It shouldn't be.
Where was the adjustment, on the knob? Hard to tell
Pull the knob off, then reposition it to the correct heat.
@@scotthardesty why do you need to pull the knob off?

Mine is electronic
I saw those as well.
You could change the temperature thermostat. Cheap easy fix.
It's digital. This was easier.
I think its not possible...the pin has a flat side. This is the callibration from the factory.
I show you that it is possible.
My pin that the knob fits on has a flat side also. It only fits on it that one way.
This is not the correct way to do this because most ovens are digital now. Also wouldn’t that mess up turning the oven off because it would still be left on a little bit?
It worked for this oven. So in theory, it is the correct way in my world.
bummer, my knob only goes back on in the same spot....well, good video and idea nonetheless.
Sorry to hear that
How do you know the thermometer is correct?? ..Maybe it's the termometer that shows everything wrong
hahaha... Good point.
That’s what I was thinking, I don’t think oven thermometers are calibrated and guaranteed accurate to within 5 degrees + -
I was not impressed with the pink stuff for cleaning the oven at all.
I still haven't used it yet.

useless if you have a digital display
We have another stove that this wouldn't work for, but with this stove it worked.

What the hell….never saw a home oven that can reach temperature like that 😅
Really? It can go much higher.
