This is so cool!! I’ve been doing Muay Thai for three weeks now. Being a 5’3 girl with no martial arts experience whatsoever and too afraid to even hurt a fly, it was really tough. I used to go to every session with anxiety but I never came back home disappointed or upset. It’s getting easier every day. I really want to push myself further, not only physically but mentally. Thanks for they video, you’re really inspiring!
@@alanismarie5916 nice. I just fell sick so I had to skip a bit but I feel like I’m becoming more confident. The only problem is that I still have this psychological barrier on punching people, like I’m afraid to do full force on them even if this force is little. That’s exactly why I want to keep going, to tear down that barrier
I really like what Mel commits to, to create the stories she creates. Learning martial arts to understand it more for your story is a true commitment. Keep up the good work Mel and I can’t wait to see how this story comes out!!
Mel, you are so inspiring. As an aspiring writer, you are definitely the one of the people online that inspire and motivate me (and others). I hope you have a great rest of the week!
I love muay thai, been doing it for the past couple years+helping coach at my gym. Recently started messing around with writing about a week ago which led me to your channel, so seeing this was such a cool intersection/coincidence for me given the timing. I hope you stick with it, I'll take this video as a sign to start writing more.
As someone who was just trying to find some muay thai fights and found your video instead. This is very impressive and I actually really enjoyed this! Not alot of people would go out of there way to do this. Its very smart of you to seek real world experience to boost your writing Edit: After watching more of your videos I just had to subscribe and I'm also going to be reading your book as well.... And well shit, I'm not the brightest 23 year old boy. But you're even starting to inspire me to start writing. So well done, keep the videos comin!
i discovered your channel a few days ago from the music to listen to while reading video. i just ended up subscribing and watching a bunch of your videos AND i just ordered your book called ‘Capsule’ off of amazon, it comes in the mail tomorrow and I AM SO EXCITED to start reading it!!
This is so dope! As both a writer and someone fairly experienced in Muay Thai (started in high school, I'm 31 now) I love your commitment to research! I've always enjoyed when stories include fighting as a culture and craft that extends beyond just the fight, and when they ground the scenes with body focused sensations (like on days I feel tight, or when my left kick is weirdly better than my right). Really excited to check out your books, keep it up!!!
What! My heart just exploded. This is so cool to watch you in action. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book but I’m also glad I didn’t sign up to beta read because I don’t want to have to think about it that critically. 😆 I can already tell it’s going to be incredible!
As a writer, i've always wanted to have different kinds of experience to help me write about it and i am so happy to see you do that Mel. You truly are an inspiration, 🥺. This trilogy is going to be amazing ❤
This is so brilliant! Experiencing what your characters go through in the book is an excellent way to write the story. Imagine writing something you have no knowledge of! I'm so glad that you made this decision to experience something and gain knowledge of it and apply it to your book.
As a beginner in martial arts, I absolutely LOVED this video! I love your editing style and seeing your train muay thai was super cool (it's something I'd like to try some day...right now I do BJJ). I don't know a whole lot about your Belladonna series but now I am very intrigued. :D
I found your video looking up Muay Thai content. I've been doing this stuff for a while now, and I always enjoy seeing a brand new student jump in. It was really interesting to see your progression from zero, and I'll be sure to use your experience as insights on how to approach and teach new students under me. Now I see you're a writer of dark fiction. Very cool indeed. I'll be sure to check out your work. I hope you continue on the Muay Thai journey, as it's really unlike anything else. You might find that as your body becomes hard and your bones densify, your mind sharper and more predatory, your spirit becomes not only more powerful, but elevated and often kinder and more compassionate.
Aw I'm so glad to hear that, and thank you for the support :) Yes, I'm still doing Muay Thai at the moment. I have another martial arts video coming on June 8 that I'm so excited about!
This video is so inspiring Mel! You improved so much in your muay Thai. It's my favorite video so far. Looking forward to reading your new books. I read Leaving Wishville and it was awesome
This was a really cool idea to see in action. I stumbled onto this video but as a writer myself seeing someone jump all the way into an expletive to add depth to their writing was really dope. Also the video was paced well too. Nice work
Happy to see the commitment to your craft, I hope you continue your martial arts journey as well, the benefits to mind and body are numerous and worth it!
I just read memory minefield and it's amazing it's unexplainable how amazing it is I loved it's really worth reading your books are the best and I really like your channel growth I'm a very old subscriber your my fav author mel. Keep up the good work ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Am Thai and my english skill is not very well but the thing is I'm feel great when you learn my culter martial art {yeah amd it's very simillar to another contry } and As a writer I relly like how you doing your best for the information that you need for write That's incredible God bless you
Yes the first week or two I get sore muscle, cardio is the most important, you need to have good cardio to learn more and to keep going, then skills and techniques will come along.
This is really cool. I was just checking out boxing and muay thai fights and your vid showed up. I'm not your target audience but it was an interesting watch.
when they started kicking you out of frustration, like a sibling. That reminds me of that toddler trying break the board with his kick but kept failing to understand what the instructor is saying, he even jumped on the board, and just kept doing aah! ahh! hayeeeahhhh!! XD. This Video was funny yet motivating. Thanks..
Thank you that was a joy to watch , when it comes to any techinques like the jump push learn with your opposite side first to create a much stronger neural plasticity pattern " in short the mind and body connection " Then learning with your dominate side will be five times more easier. Even this message is a few months late good luck on your final goals 🙂
Wow, this video is so incredible Mel! You put so much effort into everything you do and it inspires me on a great level! You have a lot of talent and are doing so much at such a young age, and I know you're going to go even farther in life. I also had so much fun being a beta reader and participating, and I'm excited to see the draft continue to improve until it's published! Thank you for giving me the opportunity!
Just a while ago, I learned that to be better in giving the image of what you want to convey in writing is to know it yourself. how it feels, how you experienced it, etc. then I saw you actually go out of your way to know it yourself "how".
Being a beta reader for this book is just absolutely amazing, all of the people there have really good suggestions that make so much sense. I myself am very happy and surprised with the way Mel can write and make the story just feel very real. She’s a true storyteller. I can confirm that you all are going to love Belladonna once it’s here.
you should buy an click counter, so you can keep count how many kicks you swing. then condition yourself only an minutes rest in between as official bout will give you twice as much rest period in between bouts. after 60 seconds you should have recovered 30% of your total strength. so you wanna train for that quick burst KO rather than have it go to an decision.
Is great that you get to feel what your "characters" are going through but if you want realistic fight scenes then its better to watch some muay thai fights theres tons in youtube. My suggestion to learn the jump teep is dont move forward when starting out. Start with the basics just the stationary teep and work from there.
Come train at the gym I train at 🙂. The JiuJitsu there is much much much better than the Muay Thai classes, so I train on my own or with partners. We need more nerdy, “boring” people there 🤓🥰
Congratulations on getting started!! I’m still doing Muay Thai today and it’s definitely improved my everyday mood and health 10x. I hope you love it too!

Not going to lie you still got a lot to go even for a beginner that is things they show kids

You'll be loosely based on the character by the end of the story 😅
Looks like a fun way to write a story and give it context.
