If you want to install Postgres on a Mac, you have two options: use the installation package (a DMG file) or use Homebrew.
In this video, I’ll show you how to download and install Postgres using the installation package, and connect to it using pgAdmin (which comes with the installation).

Every time I download it I get a "Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly The database cluster initialisation failed." error. I have done a lot of troubleshooting and can't seem to figure it out. It happens for every single version I try. Any ideas?

Please, I followed thoroughly with the instructions but at the end of my installation I get an error message saying “ database initialization cluster failed” please what can I do?
P.s I downloaded the version 12.18 because I’m on a Mac 10.15

when I input password correct, it says could not connect to server: Connection refused Is the server running on host "localhost" ? and how to change the password for that ? pleas can help me 🙏🙏
Is the Postgres database running? It should be if you've followed this process. Is it the same password that you specified when you installed Postgres?
Can we use PostGreSQL on ipad? If so, how can we download it.
I'm not sure you can actually. You could use a web-based version if you want to write code.
My pgAdmin is stuck on the loading screen right before creating a master password on my MacOS, should I try using DBeaver instead?
Oh that's odd. You could try using DBeaver if pgAdmin doesn't work. I use DBeaver as much as I use pgAdmin at the moment, both are good tools.

Yeah that could be the reason. You can check if it’s running on the terminal or I think in the system settings.

how you solve it?
After installing it, when I turn off the computer and turn it on, Postgresql closes down. How can I turn it on again? I cannot connect even though I entered the password.
There should be a way to automatically start Postgres when you restart your computer. I'm not sure how, but perhaps there's an option in System Preferences.
how do you add psql to the terminal?
It should automatically come with psql, as far as I know?

Oh that's strange. Perhaps you can add a new Server in pgAdmin and specify the connection details.
