Nokia must've been the no 1 blooper. I loved Windows phone. I really liked it over the other two. It felt fresh, fast and less clunky the ios and Android. The quality of those rebranded Nokias was great. Unfortunately, Ms dropped the ball and wanted big profits fast. I had the band2 as well and it was good but the quality was not there.

One blooper I cannot forget was the 2015 unlimited OneDrive storage for MSAs. I remember getting an email from MS about this giving me 10 TB to start with. I think a month later MS backtracked on the offer because of excessive abuse! I think cloud storage was not quite ready at the time for unlimited storage. They should reintroduce it.
Other than that I agree with your selections but don’t forget the Windows flops like ME! 😂😂

Good list Andy, however you forgot Microsoft Bob "The Social Interface" and Microsoft Windows Millenium Edition aka Microsoft Windows Crash and Burn Edition. Both of those were complete disasters for good ole MS.

The biggest mistakes I see are.
    1. Killing SBS products and forcing small business to go to the cloud.
    2. Outlook/New Outlook, why confuse people when they are not the same thing.
    3. Teams personal/Teams classic/New Teams, I see business customer with all three of these on their machine because they don't know the difference.
    4. If they force bit locker to be enabled by default then every new machine I setup will have it disabled. IT is a stupid idea for home & small business.

They were a little hamstrung by their agreement with the EU to allow third-parties kernel-level access. I think they could have put better controls and mitigations in place for the inevitable screw up.

I don't mind the rebranding as much as extra charges you get when they add new feature like Entra Internet/Private Access/Governance/Priva

At first, I was sceptical about rebranding Azure AD to Entra ID. However, I have come to appreciate that the new name offers a clearer distinction between the directory and identity services and the Azure resources that can leverage them. It made it easier to explain to the less technical people in the business.
