I like that this is more conversational rather than just a rapid fire list of questions.

I'd try and express it more in the sense that consciousness doesn't continue because continuation is a process that exists within time. But who says consciousness exists in time? If consciousness is timeless, than it wouldn't "continue" after death, it would simply be where it always is but unobstructed by the body. So we would return to what we all ready, which is pure consciousness unaffected by form.

That's not bad. 'Time' and 'space' are fundamental elements of the construct. Also self/other, cause/effect and so on. So what we call 'time' exists (or seems to exist) in consciousness rather than the other way round.
However, on the practical, conventional level at which we would say that there is a 'person' now, during embodied life, perhaps there is some other kind of mental form that persists after the death of the body. But it seems to me highly speculative and unproven. And I think that *if* you really, really get the point that consciousness is universal, and you truly, truly identify as that consciousness (and there are surely a lot of ways to think you do while you're, in fact, dead wrong), *then* there is no existential attachment to the hope/belief that there is this kind of individual afterlife. Because you are grounded in the reality and not the constructed life/death dualism. You *are* the reality beyond life-and-death, and there's no suffering over appearances or a sense that 'I am contained in this perishable body, looking at a world that will carry on without me'.

The second part of your premise is correct. The first part of your premise is missing only one factor - travel. Time is only a factor if you're travelling somewhere - say through space.

It's funny David Lynch saying the body id a car, I always believed that and would tell myself that if any doubts came into my mind that there is nothing after, I thought that even before seeing this video for the first time, I'd even tell people and they would laugh at me.

I agree but when you travel realms do you feel different to when you are awake? Like more heavenly, excited, not you, experiencing another life or lives etc?

david lynch, i love your movies ....but! how does consciousness i presume you mean ..the awareness of your body the sensations you feel and interaction with the physical around you. how can that leave the body behind ..when the body is the mind and the reason for your conscious being?? the body is the mind and the mind is the body with creates awareness of your surroundings.
