  • From Joshua Lahring - Hi Pastor Joel, I have been listening to you on biblical patriarchy and I am wondering what you think about women having the right to vote. Since men are called to lead in the home and should be the governing authorities, should women have part in deciding the direction of society?
Mondays at 12PM CT Pastor Joel hops on RUclips to answer your questions live. This episode of Questions was taken from one of his Live Q&A. To make sure you are notified when we have our next Live Q&A - subscribe to our RUclips channel and click the bell.

Sufferage puts a state-sponsored wedge between husband and wife. God makes them one, the state divides them into two. Put another way, women’s sufferage is anti-covenantal because it elevates individualism over covenantal union. Women have voted to obligate the state to fulfill the duties of a husband and a mother. The state is the provider and protector so women can thrive without a husband, the state raises children so that women can avoid obligation and thrive in individual (non-covenantal) pursuits.

Seems that those "beta" pastors are the tyrants that Aristotle referred to.

I forgot my college years when they talked about Aristotle, the sophists, and the philosophers; and the sophists we're those who twisted wisdom (sophia) to convince the masses. Anyway, to comment on your comment, I thought those beta (weak) pastors/sophists/tyrants empower women at the expense of men because they were afraid of women, instead of men, and that's why they appease women's tickly ears. I saw it like that, but your point made me think. What if they're just afraid of truth (both men and women)?

Not to mention majority of taxes are paid by men, DESPITE women having the majority vote. These exact problems are what have led America to it’s demise today. I remember listening to a woman pastor preach about how you need to get off of social media and to never use it, because "sinners are sinning on it", on it. She didnt use that exact wording, but, basically, thats what she was saying. What she presented pandered to her own personal feelings, rather then the tremendous blessing that God has been able to use social media for. She was popular in the community and so, people would just flock to her, and so she could conveniently say that.
After all, she had her community of friends. But what about the rest of us, who dont have the money to fit into religion? We use social media and the internet. God uses ti to help those of us that religion has rejected. Its like, "no, dont learn about what is going on in south Africa, and the spiritual revival and reformation that is happening the whole world. Just stay in a little box". I wonder how she thinks now, because of how much of the church submitted to the government with covid 19?
I am reminded of Sarai and Abrahm. They had received a massage, a direct Word from Almighty God, about how they would conceive a child in their old age. Guess who went against that Word and said that, basically, "no, God has shut my womb, go sleep with Hagar instead". It was a woman, Sarai, and since Abrahm went along with it, we today, have the Israeli Arab conflict. Also, she lied about laughing in the presence of God and God made sure everybody knew what she had done. Abrahm bowed down himself in the presence of God, but Sarai lied in the presence of God.
Yeah, what you are saying in the video, I whole heartedly believe, not just because of my personal held beliefs, but because the Bible shows us.

Pastor Joel, I am curious as to what you think may be needed in order to end this as you said you believe will happen. Given the ramifications of returning society closer to God's intention for it, I obviously would love to see this. That being said, even among the more Biblically sound churches ( mine openly defends male headship ), there seems to be a blind spot here. You have the wives of staff members being housewives and yet these same male staff members will support female political candidates. They will say you can't find the idea that women aren't intended to do such things in Scripture. Obviously, I point out that when God instituted family....he established it with the husband as the head. When he instituted government...he did so with the Patriarchs and Kings. When he created the church...the Pastors and Apostles were men. So, right from their origins, the 3 pillars of society....family, church and government were created in a patriarchal model. So, what is likely to be needed to turn things back to that model ? Women dying in combat in large numbers ? Interested in your views. God bless.

Wow! This is such a breath of fresh air. I used to be a raging feminist, but… That was in my 20s. And you are right… While I know some old boomers who are still raging feminist in their 70s which is really gross, 🤢 I do think it is something that a lot of people do grow out of. I was that raging feminist in my 20s, but I grew up. Unfortunately, I grew up too late to have children as I have a condition that renders me infertile, but at least I grew out of my feminism. Since coming out of feminism, I can tell you that you speak truth. It is so refreshing to hear somebody actually agree with me on this issue. Letting women into politics was a bad idea to say the least. You have to understand though what sort of women push this sort of agenda and these sorts of ideas. They are usually quite masculine, often and married and well-to-do women. Feminism generally is not a philosophy that cares about the poor and downtrodden women the way that it sells itself to be. So unfortunately, this is why women are forced into these situations. I agree with you completely about women voting, but understand that it's a certain type of woman that pushes the stuff and has always been that certain type of woman going right back to the suffrage movement. The problem as well with feminism generally, but this video specifically is about women's suffrage, is that it has only benefited a small number of these masculine, unmarried and well-to-do women. The vast majority of women are less happy, less safe, and less fulfilled as the decades go on. So I thank you so much for saying these things about women's suffrage. It is so nice to hear somebody speak sense and who I agree with wholeheartedly. You hit all the right points on this issue from go to whoa. Well done. And just to finish off, I can't remember his name now… One of the abolitionists… Douglas Murray? I can't remember his name now, Douglas somebody… Having a mental block at the moment… Anyway… One thing I do remember was that while he was very aggressively pushing for black male suffrage, which is a good thing, he himself was even against female suffrage and never got behind it. So there were even abolitionists at the time, who were antislavery and pro black male suffrage, who were absolutely dead against female suffrage. I hope this comment makes sense, here in New Zealand it's getting late at night.

Not trying to fight you, I am only saying that if you follow the Word, and turn away from the deceit of those who say they love God but hate (not emotionally, but in actuality) His Word, He will lead you to a good place where false doctrines and poor decisions resulting from them can die out, and you will be free to obey in the joy of righteousness. As you have already found out the the Bible IS the word of the Holy Spirit inscripted and inerrant, infallible and completely breathed out by God through men sustained to write with clarity exactly how God worded it through them. I'm in a Pentecostal Church too and I have asked many questions. I'm now seeking another church. As I continue to listen to Pastor Joel and others like him it really really bothers me to see women in Authority positions. Recently one of the churches I was thinking about attending had a woman preach on Sunday morning. I was very upset. I wondered what I would have done had I been there. Would I have gotten up and walked out? And I don't feel comfortable going for another reason. I don't want a woman laying hands on me and praying over me during the corporate service. I think this is for obvious reasons, right? But it leads to another issue. The men in the church are allowing women to pray over people and lay hands on them during corporate service. So not only are the women in error, but so are the men for allowing it! I don't think it's wise to allow men who are disobeying God's divine order to pray over me. They probably should not teach me either. They shouldn't have any authority in my spiritual life, right? So these are the questions that go through my mind as I find it hard to leave my church cold turkey.

It’s not that they weren’t giving women the vote out of “hatred” for women, as we are now constantly being told.

These people may be consulted for valuable input, just as a husband is going to have the ear of his wife in the family setting. But ultimately, the school principal is the one making the decision and is then accountable for what happens as a result. The teacher/parent/student has not been given permission to make a decision on behalf of the entire school-unless delegated to by the principal.

The first time I heard this was not too long ago from The Tansformed Wife. I was shocked. I had no idea that there were people in this country who did not want women to vote. After reading through the comments on her Instagram post I could understand this point of view. And then I was excited to hear this discussed in one of Pastor Joel's interviews with two other male leaders. I don't remember their names. And each of these three men had varying perspectives on their preference for male and household votes. I appreciate this video here today.
Here's my question. Everything makes sense except for the idea that women make poor voting decisions. If this is true, then it's probably because they're voting with their emotions which is not a rational way to make any decision whatsoever and they may also not be educated on politics. In my case, I am not very educated on politics, but I'm cerebral and have strong logic and critical thinking skills. I'm not weak willed. One of the reasons I've refrained from voting is because I know that I am not educated enough on the issues to make a well thought-out decision. I say this to show that I am not offended by the idea of losing my right to vote. However, I am frightened by the idea of votes for men only. If the only voters were saved believers walking blameless in the ways of the Lord, then I would feel absolutely confident in leaving votes to those particular men. If husbands love their wives as scripture commands, the natural result would be that they could and would make decisions in consideration of the well-being of their wives and daughters who hopefully would become wives in the future. But these curcumstances don't exist at-large. Most men are not following YHVW, and I don't know if most husbands who are true saved believers are mature in their walk and understandin of biblical love. Do they make decisions for their household in consideration for the well-being of the women and girls they may be trying to love in the way that scripture commands them to love? Or do they make decisions to bolster their ego and in preference for the other men and boys in the household? (Note: By well being I don't mean giving women and girls whatever they want.)
I'll never forget that Abigail Adams reminded her husband, John Adams, who was one of the first presidents of the US, to remember the women.

Hi Nicole, I follow the Transformed wife on IG too! 👋😀
I understand why this would frighten you, but here are a couple things that came to my mind as I thought about it.
This is unlikely to happen without a nation-wide repentance that make our country re-evaluate our whole system by scriptural principles. I think you can see why that would help.
Second, most of the reasoning Joel presented here was not even based on whether the man was Christian. It was creational-just how men are in comparison to women. So yes, wicked men may vote and lead wrongly and mess things up, but women leading (voting) is a symptom of societal collapse on a massive scale.
And lastly is the same argument for submitting to an imperfect husband. Will he always make the right choices? No. But he is the authority that God has given you, and (barring the exceptions) we should not overturn that order because we think we can do better.

    • @NicoleCB
      @NicoleCB 2 года назад

      @@kaylar3197 hello👋🏼😊
I thought about all this like you did. But regardless of how likely this could happen, the principles/ideologies make me uneasy.
First of all, it's scary that women can't think logically or become educated about important subject matters. I can't believe these are biological designs by YHVW because it is disordered thinking and a limited capacity to learn. Why would the Gid of order design a disordered and small mind? It must be a result of how girls are being raised.
Second, was the suffrage movenent because women's voices weren't being heard every once in awhile or most of the time? If women arent bring protected and cared for by men, then it leaves them neglected. Neglect is grounds for divorce or separation (I cant remember which.) per "old" testament. What would be a parallel yor addressing the problem of men not voting in favor of the protections and care of women and girls?

The argument that a draft is “no longer meaningful” is the weak argument. 51 years ago, males in the United States were conscripted to fight a war in a country that had no meaning to those men. 51 years ago. If it is so meaningless, then why don’t women pass a law that requires themselves to sign up for the “meaningless draft”? And I don’t mean a draft that requires women to “join the military”. I’m talking a draft that says women will be forced to fight on the front line in an infantry.
The vote is tied to force and bloodshed. It is immoral for a woman to decide that a male must fight on behalf of the country, while excluding themselves. It is immoral for a woman to vote on things of economy, laws of justice, and much more, as these can be tied to reasons for wars.

Your initial reasoning, that essentially women have suffered by being permitted to vote, is pragmatic. I'd argue that pragmatism is an insidious standard for questions of morality and rights. If we apply a pragmatic standard to other rights, then practically all our rights could, and should be infringed upon. Furthermore, the argument that Eve was deceived and not Adam is true, but Adam passed the buck, and refused to take responsibility for his lack of leadership. So, it may be that woman are deceived in voting, but also, men can't be trusted to lead. You speak of Timothy, and "weak willed women". I must ask, is Timothy saying all women are weak willed? What about redeemed women, those indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who are being sanctified? Is not Gods work, sufficient for fallen women? If women should not vote, because they're easily deceived, and you say experience and Scripture attest to this proclivity for women to be deceived, would not Scripture, and experience say that men have a proclivity to be tyrants, murderous tyrants, and therefore ought not lead? And cannot men be weak willed too? Can anyone say, David? You may say, but the Bible says explicitly men are to lead. This is true, but it doesn't say women are not to vote, and applying the teaching that women should not have authority over a man, to voting, is a stretch. IT would seem, to me at least, that being easily deceived is not the only trait which can cause suffering...but I now argue pragmatically. Is not the answer for women who are easily deceived, salvation....the Gospel....and even dare I say, men teaching? If bent, disqualifies you from something, should not all of us, be disqualified, for all things? It seems to me common grace, and redemption are being ignored...and the applying of commands, outside their clear intentions. If women should not vote because they're easily deceived, then young men should not vote because they're easily manipulated...which of course begs the question, what qualifies for a young man? Is this standard, true for all times and all places? Is a 18 year old today, the same as an 18 year old in 1776? Are all 18 year olds the same? In some ways, this line of reasoning, is almost, Marxist....disregarding the individual, and instead, lumping all into groups. Anyway, that's my .20 cents (to account for inflation)....

I'd argue if it is, then there are many more things women should not be permitted to do....such as be doctors.. The Proverbs woman, in Psalms 31, seems to take on an awful lot of responsibility, and such that in facts "leads" her family....at least no less then voting would lead. I have to disagree with you here, Joel. Eve being deceived does not make women less-than. Even if it did, I don't see that logically extending into a coherent political philosophy for civil government. I don't see a biblical prohibition on women participating in civil government. There is a very clear prohibition on women participating as pastors, deacons, or elders, but not as voters in elections for civil officers or referendums.

Eve being deceived didn't make her less-than. It was a reflection on an innate quality of women's nature. 1 Peter 3 states that women are the weaker vessel. This was not an onset of sins entrance in the world, it preexisted it. Who bore the responsibility for sins entrance into the world? It was not Even but Adam who did (see Romans 5) however, 1 Peter 3, men are instructed to honor the women for her weaknesses. It's an honorable aspect of a women's nature. It's an integral and beautiful part of women's role. It existed in Eve, and it was Adam responsibility to protect and defend and lead Eve and he failed and the responsibility for sin entering into the world is upon HIS shoulders, not upon Eve's

Of course I realize that if those 3 groups were the only ones allowed to vote then more men than women would be eligible, but we don't have that system. It seems like the argument that is being made here is that because men are more likely to serve in the military, then women shouldn't be allowed to vote. That's why I asked specifically about those women who have served. Your argument seems to be a little different, but also confusing because it depends on what you mean by skin in the game. In our day and age, there are many who want to drive the name and message of Christ completely out of the public arena. Voting is an opportunity to promote, protect, and preserve godly government. Passing up that opportunity means letting those who would denigrate the name of Christ have their way in our lives. @Caleb P Deborah was a prophetess.
So clearly she had authority. The easy
way out of this is to say no woman is
a prophetess in our time. Then that
      debate has a clean kill.
I am torn in this matter. Considering
my time in Christ I really shouldn't be.
Does it makes spiritual sense for an
ungodly man to rule, instead of a godly
      woman?
I just saw a video recently about home
churches. Maybe that is the answer. Just
come together and pray and praise and read the bible. It certainly removes all
      the 'authority' stuff.
Also, you actually get to know people
and care about them. This never happens
at a sermon, because that isn't its intention.

@Caleb P Say to the righteous that it will go well with them,
For they will eat the fruit of their actions.
Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him,
For what he deserves will be done to him.
O My people! Their oppressors are children,
      And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray
And confuse the direction of your paths.

@Caleb P She was not "raised up" to be a leader. No where in Judges, does it say the LORD "raised her up" to be a leader. This wording is missing in Judges 4:4.
The judging she rendered to Israel was done under a tree and in private. Even her discussion with Barak indicates it was also done in private. And finally, if her example were "common" or exemplary in any way, then why is she the ONLY example of a female judge in the Bible? Where are the rest of these female "leaders"?
I think a question we could ask would be:
Will GOD raise up a female leader for HIS ppl? And the answer to this question is NO.
      Never has. Never will.

Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time. She used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went up to her for judgment.
She was judging Israel at that time by God's will. God could
have raised up another and another and another prophetess
at that time if He wished.
When she prophesied it came true.
I will draw out to you Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his many troops to the river Kishon, and I will hand him over to you.’”
      And
She said, “I will certainly go with you; however, the fame shall not be yours on the journey that you are about to take, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.”
So it started with Deborah (a woman) and ended with Jael (a woman).
There is no way out of this. Sorry.

look, man, you're honest I'll give you that. And I'm definitely a right-winged conservative fellow very much against modern feminism. But I do think that if any population of people does not have the right to vote they will naturally be vulnerable to injustices that only the represented population has any power to change. And as our society pushes further from the family, women would be less and less represented by their husbands and would thus become silent altogether. Perhaps your arguments would make sense if we lived in a society where women were actually represented by their husbands and the family structure was firmly planted. Also just because one population votes different than you does not mean that they should not have the right to vote, that reasoning completely undermines the point of democracy. So your first point just sounds completely ridiculous to me.

Excluding the 1964 election (LBJ verses Goldwater) every presidential election since the 1950s would have put a Republican in the White House
if men only voted. (and as I’ve said on here before, I’m not a Republican).
I’ll catch much flack for this but it’s undeniable that most women vote based on emotion rather than on facts.
The “whole my body my choice”, women’s lib, “Me Too”, absurd environmental movements, etc.
I’ll throw you one better, I don’t believe anyone should be able to vote without passing a voter competency test. Every voter, every election. “I just hate Trump” is not an acceptable reason to be allowed to vote.
The age should also be raised back up to 21. The 18 year old of 2022 is not the 18 year old of 1952.

No. If we women were created in his image , the church would not be portrayed as a wife .
We as women image God's people , ie what is under .
Man (husband) images God/Christ , ie what is above
The masculine , in essence is divine but the feminine is earthly and carnal (not derogatory ).
The masculine did not exist when Adam was created. It existed in God before Adam.
However , the feminine started to exist after Adam , for him and because of him.
It's a very beautiful reality and no God-fearing woman can be envious of this position. She delights in hers because she has the glorious ability to bear children , something always praised in the Bible.

Only men are required to register for selective service which the president calls for. Anyone saying women should vote but shouldn’t be drafted are basically saying that women should be able to vote men into war. Not to mention majority of taxes are paid by men, DESPITE women having the majority vote. These exact problems are what have led America to it’s demise today. It’s not even necessarily women voting, it’s that women have way less responsibility but have majority power.
