Corey had this to say on Loudwire about the song: “To me, it just seems like it’s all the outrage and none of the punishment. For the last few years it’s been very trendy to be offended and outraged by everything, and yet nothing happens - especially in my country, which is just ****ing ridiculous. It’s almost like the tables have turned, and the more angry people get, the more the people who they’re mad at just double-down on the ****." "Instead of there being cause and effect, or crime and punishment, now it’s just like, ‘**** you, we don’t care.' And it’s almost like people are ringing the doomsday bell. You’re sitting there going, ‘Well, it’s been fun! Everybody, pick up your trash when you’re leaving, and I’ll see you in Hell!’ That’s kind of what that song is. It’s just like, ‘If we don’t figure it out, I’ll see you when the meteor hits, basically.’" It’s like, ‘If you mother****ers want to kill each other, go ahead. I’m just gonna stand back and will not be in the line of fire,’ because I’m tired of the idiocy. I can only watch stupid **** for ****ing so long. So yeah, it’s me basically going, ‘Go ahead, just ****ing beat the living **** out of each other and see what happens.'"
I think a lot of the reason the whole "The lyrics seem like they just rhyme to rhyme" thing is because Corey excels - especially in Slipknot - at being metaphorical. The lyrics of a song can be weird or even make literally no sense until you're viewing it through the correct metaphor or subject matter, in which everything starts to make sense, and even other lines will bring on a whole new meaning, and that's just how Corey rolls. I find he is generally very infrequent with literal messages in Slipknot songs.
Hell they even named an album after it.... "The Subliminal Verses" basically means just that - deeper subconscious meaning behind the verses he writes. Corey's lyrical style can be too out there for some people who don't want to have to search for what the actual meaning is or have to actually think about the words and what the message is. He's a vocal magician but I can definitely see how some people are turned off by his actual lyrics.
Slipknot's music has evolved throughout the years and isn't the same as in their earlier days when you had Chris Fehn, Joey Jordison, and Paul Grey but their three new members are great fill-ins for them and bring an extra element to the band

I believe this songs lyrics are a bash at America. Mostly pointing the finger at politicians, the first lyrics "put your hands into the water, let your mouth go sick and dry" you hear and see the issues, Flint water, Maybe? You see it and touch it, but refuse to drink it. The "favorable" give you good food, but you won't touch it because you want to help the downtrodden. Pointing the finger at issues saying you are going to fix it, then you get elected and don't do anything. All parties are guilty of that.
You should react to The Gospel of Judas by Lord of The Lost. I think by the title of this song you would know this would start an interesting conversation.
Please react to Where Moth and Rust Destroy by Tourniquet. They are a Christian metal/thrash metal band. I myself am not overly religious but the song is one of my favorites of all time.
They're getting so much hate for this album, but its one my my favorite albums of all time! It's so different, but it's still Slipknot and even if they didn't have covid and an excuse I wouldn't like it one bit less!
I believe an oracle would refer to ancient Greek or Roman times where the belief was the more incoherent and crazy a person acted and babbled the more the gods were speaking through them. So I don't think it's a diss at pastors in this situation. Unless you go to certain churches lol
Slipknot are talented artist and have interesting lyrics. But they are not a Christian band. Corey Taylor is most definitely not referencing suffering for God's name in any of his songs. He is referencing his own and that which others relate to as humans. In all of his songs where he implied religion isn't going to help him he is also stating that the God of the bible isn't going to help him. So Slipknot would be agnostic and they have no intention of promoting Christian ideas.
Corey's Interviews with Larry King are definetley worth watching. It gives a bit of insight into how he thinks and where some of his lyrics come from.
I miss Larry king😂

Would you please react to Inspire The Liars by Dance Gavin dance?
You grab that mic one more time.... I'm gonna unsubscribe..
What I really don't like is that Jay uses the same cymbal on every song, no diversity on the drums, pretty much all the songs his drums are all the same. Boring... The song is good though...
I asked you guys awhile back if you'd check out skynd I believe I suggested Columbine first then thought Jim Jones was maybe more appropriate but neither were touched upon by you guys,I'm curious how you feel about either but more so on the Columbine video. I'M asking again because I'd really like your take on this video and the band in general, all there songs are of true crime, but the catch is the singer does her homework it's more a documentary narrated through an artists perspective or interpretation of the events I don't know any other way of explaining the situation it's not justifying or glorifying the acts,it just shows a darker side of the human psychology in my opinion. I wish I hadn't shared this much but It seems your not going to bother if I didnt, even if you won't do a review, can you watch and msg me at least, thank you for your time. Ps.spiral out right in two a perfect Tool -cifer
What is that you say?
It's fucking Jay killing it on the drums
Joey would be proud
You should react to The Gospel of Judas by Lord of The Lost. I think by the title of this song you would know this would start an interesting conversation.
You guys should do a reaction video of Baba Yaga and 1984 by slaughter to prevail
Please react to Where Moth and Rust Destroy by Tourniquet. They are a Christian metal/thrash metal band. I myself am not overly religious but the song is one of my favorites of all time.

Hey pastor, you shoud react to "in the shadow of our pale comunion" from agalloch. I think it will be a great video.
If you guys want a really good Christian rock band to listen to you should listen to Red. Then song you should listen to is feed the machine
Pastor Rob. Got a question. Do you think slipknot is a satanic band because of their imagery or.. whats your out look on them
Now react to YEN by Slipknot please 🤘🤡
Where you guys at? 😢
Hope everything okay! 🤙🏽
I believe an oracle would refer to ancient Greek or Roman times where the belief was the more incoherent and crazy a person acted and babbled the more the gods were speaking through them. So I don't think it's a diss at pastors in this situation. Unless you go to certain churches lol
That lyric is weird but react to Slipknot - Yen. These are incredible lyrics there. It’s also new
Slipknot are talented artist and have interesting lyrics.
React to "End of the Age" by Becoming the Archetype
Been a hardcore maggot since day one back in 99. I can’t believe that was 23 years ago. I’m old
