great tutorial, many thanks, this helped me alot on restringing my newly aquired H/06 🙂
i have a question though, would it also be benefitial for the grip if i bend the unwound strings too before inserting them into the bridge hole? now with my first re-string, the high e-string went out of the hole on the bridge, but perhaps i was also too gentle when i fastened the screw?

So do you have to do the little bend at the bridge side of the string for every wound string or just over a specific diameter?

I watched this video on Facebook group and still don't understand why the wound strings need to get the bend and 7mm extra length to insert into the saddle groove. Can Aristides please explain a little more?

my best guess is that it gives the grub screw enough string to bite onto when you tighten it.

Provides extra grab and makes sure the core wont slip out from in between the windings.

if it's any consolation they are working on new saddles that dont require you do this.instead there will be a groove for the ball end of the string to sit in

Kinda wild that you re-designed the instrument from the ground up but decided to use 3mm hex on one end and 2 mm on the other

I don't see why these can't have little thumbs screws, you could even custom make the the knobs look cool.
