    Natural setting for all this music. The architecture, the reverb, the "atmosphere" all work together. This is the music of eternity, whether christian or not.

    Truly, the composers from venetian polychoral school made sparkling musical archictectures with the ''antyphonal style'' and the huge use of brass instruments. In my humble opinion here all it's perfection. Accoustics, music itself, performance... I hope that this video it has more and more likes, reviews and visualitations because videos like this are authentic treasures from RUclips. Thank you!

    Aside from the elogia that are well-deserved, I want to mention, as a 40 year Chitarrone player, that it is fantastic to HEAR the theorbos actually making sounds! This was not the case 30 or so years ago, when they LOOKED impressive but made no noise! This speaks to the wonderful balance achieved in even a large and brassy ensemble. Really great!

    Allen, die immer denken, Alte Musik sei trocken und langweilig, sei dieses Konzert empfohlen. Es zeigt auch, wie Heinrich Schütz die Merkmale der Musik Gabrielis übernommen hat, z.B. die Nutzung mehrerer Chöre an verschiedenen Plätzen in der Kirche. Außerdem spielen hier kleine Ensembles, die aber an der Pracht nichts zu wünschen lassen.

    • @daniela.harris9052

      The surround sound effect is partly the result of the locus in which and for which Gabrielli composed: the cathedral of St. Mark's in Venice, whose acoustics are unparallleled.

    • @mwnyc3976
      @mwnyc3976 4 года назад

      That was Adrian Willaert, actually. He was the Gabrielis' predecessor at St. Mark's in Venice. But yes, Giovanni Gabrieli brought polychoral music to new heights.

    La raison pour laquelle le geste musical est vague, est le fait qu´il manque
    l´intentionnalité, contrairement aux oeuvres elles-mêmes! Il est simple d´y remédier: travaillez sur la gestuelle céleste, et le lieu sera en croissance, ainsi que le public.
    Excusez je vous prie cette mention, je cherche la beauté, au-delà de la matérialité.
