Absolutely beautiful song! I'm so glad I bought the album! However, I can't help but imagine what it would be like to hike in that forest and unexpectedly stumble across a random choir singing in the bushes.
I miss singing this song in high school. We were blessed to get feedback from Mr. McGlynn as we sang it, due to him and our director knowing each other professionally. It's a gorgeous piece, and was a joy to learn to sing. Blessings to all of you, and your brilliant composer!
I am legitimately trying not to cry right now. This is so beautiful, so heartfelt. (And god, the greenery. I'm in the inner city of a major metropolis, so it's been a while...)
SchwarzeWitwe2 , goosebumps, floods of energetic tingling currents. We can only feel this in response to Soul Truth, sacred, life-affirming beauty. This is exquisite.
I am in love with this song!!! I am not okay unless I listen to it precisely 8 times a day. But even with those 8 times I can't seem to get the lyrics down. Is there somewhere I can find this piece?
I just recently found out about a kindred group in England called Meadiaeval Baebes. They are an all female troupe that seems to have been around since the nineties. Have you ever met or had any interaction wth them? (By kindred I mean having a similar ( at least to me )singing style).
Not really - they are not a cultural expression in the same way as we are and they are not classical in the same way we are. We've never crossed paths and my experience with many UK ensembles is that they aren't usually aware of what is going on outside of the UK, and definitely not what is going on here in Ireland, but they are not like professional UK choral ensembles.
My mother-in-law loved white roses and had them planted throughout her yard. This is a beautiful Rose that she would have enjoyed through the Winter Months as she loved excellent music.
If only led zeppelin had their talent...at least led did one song to honor the Mother of God... this song predates the horrible English persecution of my Irish ancestors by a few hundred years...
I've found this amazing song yesterday. Thank you for the great song that touches my soul, helping me relax in the middle of my exams. Greetings from Turkey, I love all of your songs!
Well it's nice to have a new audience and we look forward to meeting new friends at the Xenogears concerts in Japan this April. But we have already been there and have the t-shirt so this is another pleasant stop along the route with great people to meet.
ANÚNA and to think I would limit myself to the likes of Enya, Celtic Women, Aoife Ni Fherraigh to name a few...but, I am glad I could easily expand my horizons, as I do find the rich language of Gaelic and Irish culture and music most profound.
Hello. I’m that weird new comment appearing on all your videos but I have to say your music is healing. I know Irish choral isn’t for everyone and I certainly was never into it until I stumbled upon Riverdance back when you had Katie McMahon as lead singer. Your music is fulfilling; it can both stimulate and soothe. I jam out to the powerful intensity and other days bask in the soothing coolness of Anuna. My compliments to the members of Anuna. A timeless gift you give us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The composer is Michael, and his music has been called 'healing' in Japan. Not sure Irish choral music as a whole has any relationship to that but thank you for your comment.
Stunning; fresh but familiar somehow. Who is the harpist? Any chance of sheet music for solo soprano and harp? :D Or I could just adapt the choral version when it's available. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song, Michael!
+ANÚNA great piece of music would like to play it on the steel pan. have u ever heard of this instrument. working with a choir such as yours would be a wonderful music experience. if you are wondering the steel pan originated from the beautiful island of Trinidad in the west indies and its versatility is beyond compare. thanks for your time.
Yes - a lovely instrument. We have very little resources to collaborate and those are taken up at the moment by many other things until 2017. But it would be a lovely collaboration.
Bummer. I was looking up the sheet music for this for our school fine arts competition but stopped when I read your license requirements. I do wish you all were in cahoots with CCLI.
@@anunachoir A licensing agency that my church uses. Our regular license allows us use the music in the auditorium and our streaming license allows us to have RUclips videos of music from publishers they are in contract with. I checked and "McGlynn" was not on the list. Please understand I get it. Music composers have the right to ask for compensation from those who want to use music they created.
Is it just me or are the girls in this new faces? I've been keeping up with them since Dublin River Dance and I swear these are new girls......not that I'm complaining...just curious.
Absolutely beautiful song! I'm so glad I bought the album! However, I can't help but imagine what it would be like to hike in that forest and unexpectedly stumble across a random choir singing in the bushes.
If you close your eyes and listen to your heart, I'm more than sure that you will hear this choir in every place.
@@magisterprimus7611 I can confirm; I do not hear it at my retail job. Only internal screaming. But I do hear this on my walk home, does that count?
Ireland is to be blessed for having the power of music .
Oh yes, one of the places that have that power in Europe. Another is Ukraine...

I'm stunned. It didn't solve my heartache, but it offer a balm.
I am legitimately trying not to cry right now. This is so beautiful, so heartfelt.

This was actually filmed in a park about 4km from the centre of Dublin.

We sang this song my jr year of high school and I always come back when I’m sad. It is so beautiful it makes even the lifeless and sad feel.
Is it some sort of requirement that female Irish singers be drop dead beautiful? Ah, yes!
Yes.
I've noticed that you often respond to comments made about your group on YT. I think that is so nice. It makes me feel like you appreciate our input.
Thank you :-)

You can hear the ghost of 'Stairway to Heaven' in the melody

Sheet music now up there if you are still interested www.michaelmcglynn.com :-)
Harmonia linda bela musica
Can't believe there are any dislikes at all on this, what's not to like?!
+eleanoreandthelost someone could hate greenery or even broccoli?
Ha! Yes, maybe the video offended someone with its greenery...
...and the bluebells, they're hard to cope with sometimes... 😂
+eleanoreandthelost yes. Too green. And one of the girls needed a comb.
幻想的💜
0:37 IT'S LYNN HILARY!!! love her so much
Is she in this? Where?
Yes that was lynn.
+Theclowcard that is so lynn
Still don't see which one it is... there have been so many Celtic Woman soloists that have come from Anúna that it gets confusing.
+Theclowcard still don't know which one she is. What are you sorry for?
Pure, exquisite, a bit melancholy, as Anúna should be. But the Bandcamp link isn't working for me!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
This song is marvelous. Is there a way to buy a commercial license, as the ending of a homemade animation?
There is - normal channels are fine - Harry Fox usually - but this may not be registered properly yet.
***** Nice, thank you, I'll search for it. Can't imagine finest music to the kind of work we are planning.

+ANÚNA yes it will be and 2017 is not that far off keep up the good work
Xenoblade is going to be amazing
The white rose in this song is really called a wood anemone.

Was it impossible to find a white rose for the opening visuals? X)
Yes
Flowers in the glade

i want lyrics.
How about
"I am a little teapot, short and stout
Here is my handle and a here's my spout" etc.
There are links to the traditional lyrics, but these won't be available for awhile, unless you buy the album, of course :-)
lyrics?
Yes there are!
Why i remmember xenoblade while hearing this.
ANÚNA performs several tracks on the XC2 ost!
I liked it better when Led Zeppelin did it
I would too if it had happened. Money would have been nice.
