I started learning this song a year ago after I saw this video... Every once in a while I come back and watch it to see if I'm playing it this good and I'm still not there yet. Maybe by the end of next year. Love your playing.
actually before I found your channel a year ago, I hadn't touched my pipes in 3 years. And I saw your videos and said to myself, I wanna start back up and be able to play like this girl! And now Im playing a few songs I discovered on your channel. This one, Judges Dilemma and Sandy Cameron... Thanks for the inspiration to start back up again!@@hannahfocken
I just saw this comment and wow that’s such an amazing thing to hear. I’m so so grateful for anyone who watches my videos. I’m just a girl who loves playing the pipes so to be able to inspire someone else to play while doing what I love is so inspiring to me as well. Good luck on your piping journey :)
@@hannahfockenI have taught myself to play along with this video and still not as good as this but one things for sure your sound is always so crisp especially them shakes. Can never seem to get the 2nd time last measure like yours but I'm sure I'll get there one day. Also how's Jim Tweedies sea legs coming along? Would love to see you playing that.
That slide/gliss from B to C is really great! I did not know that it was an actual move on the GHB as I have only heard it in Irish music or on flutes/whistles. Bet it took alot of practice to get it strong and consistent like you play it. Cheers
@@hannahfocken This was such a helpful video for me as the B-C slur is so clear in your finger work that I was pretty much able (for the first time!) to be just able to go straight to my pipes and play it! Ace!
I've been playing for about 12 years but I started taking it much more seriously about 6 years ago. Good luck in your learning! I'm sure it will be a fun journey for you :)
It’s not about the make that make the pipes sound nice they are all the same but it depends what drone reeds are in them and how there tuned slide the chanter is a big part in it 👍🏻
@@ScottMackay-Sutherland I know, I’ve played for 20 years. Different sets have different characteristics, e.g Hendersons are known for a very loud, big sound. I was just interested in what pipes they were
How are your hands so good 😂 I’m trying to get mine up there also please I beg of you I need the sheet music (even though I won’t play it cause my hands suck but for the future)
Thank you for your kind words! I found a link with a copy of the music you should be able to access: svenax.net/files/sheetmusic/hornpipes/pumpkins_fancy.pdf
Probably the cleanest I’ve ever heard this tune played 💯
Flawless piping. Pure pleasure to listen to. Thank you

This is the music that motivated the brave Scottish warriors once to fight for independence. And they did it successfully.
Muito bom 🎉
So clear to see how she squeezes the bag then relaxes her arm when she blows into the blowstick......and a great rendition as well. Thank you Hannah.
Glad you enjoyed it!

So what is the pumpkin fancying?
...Spice.
Hmm... a fashionable Pumpkin Spice Jig??
what do slurs even look like in pipe music
They are a tied line over two notes. The notation us similar to bowing markings in string music notation.
Thanks. I was wondering too, having never much advanced beyond parade music.
you did a great job But!!!! I triple dog DARE you to play it faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are you up for a challenge 🤔?!?!?!
Lilli Clark played it better 13 years ago.
Horrible player
I know I played grade 1
Great job!!
Thank you :)
