Happy Belated Anniversary. I wonder how far off the islands you would have to sail to be out of the wind shadow?

Thank you! The wind shadows are pretty big. Between 10 and 20 miles out it's pretty dead on a normal day. Then wind would increase over the next 10-20 miles past that back up to speed.
