I'm in Alberta Canada ..This is the only music I listen too old country I can't stand the new pop country we'll never hear this kind of music again ... What a beautiful song
@@charliepickard7798 I can answer: surprisingly, it was. Relations from New England had a country band and played throughout the north east and Quebec. There were lots of performers from Canada. (Hank Snow, Stompin' Tom Collins, etc.) Mel played in the Niagara Falls area where he lived for a few years.
The memories of me and my dad driving down the road on a Sunday afternoon listening and singing along with Mel street . Damn that man had a great voice . Loved the hurtin songs !!!
He is a top 3 Lyricist in Country Music. Is it me or does Ronnie Milsap sound like him (younger Milsap). This song takes me back and everyone I loved is still alive and it’s a Sunday all stores closed. Eating a lot luck at Grandmas house after Church and there I was trying to tune in 99.5 KPLX and the antenna in the radio is broken so I’m holding it together. God good times.
I worked radio in late 70s in Welch W. Va ..where he did a tadio show on radio..never met him or saw live ..he died around 78 when i was in radio at that time...pur damn country....not todays bullshit! Dean Tyler Farkas...
I was born and raised on this kind of music in bluegrass this was the pure country music the country music today is not country music that can call it whatever they want but it's not country music most of it's a disgrace to country music most not all I don't want to sound rude but I can't believe jelly roll can't believe the country music association accepted him as a country music singer I'm sorry but he's a disgrace to country music I'm truly sorry to say that but that's not country music at all
I had the privilege of opening for Mel!

Good Music,very good Memories
The song Mills my history makes me feel sentimental
Hard to believe this man left us so young.so talented. Could have been another George Jones
George sang Amazing Grace at his funeral.
He and George were dear friends . He left us way to young
My dad and mel grew up together...
Do you know how far Mel went in school? Also, what happened to his sister?
I would love to hear more about the mountains there. Thanks.
He's awesome
Perfection
This song was written by Earl Thomas Conley.
“I made some plans but they fell through” phew! Great tune
He is a very good singer.
Loved Mel Srreet. This song reminds me of WMAQ out of Chicago in the 70s.
this great man was blessed by god with unbelievable talent, for many years every thing he did turned to gold
