You're right, I did seriously look at this Frogman myself... but at £4,500 in the UK 🇬🇧... I had to think about it. While I was thinking about it, I bought the MRG-B2000B-1A1DR (in Ninja Black) which satisfied me, and I love that watch now. In the meantime, I fell in love with another divers watch, and it also happens to be a Chronograph. With rotating bezel and Stopwatch. It was the Omega Seamaster 300 Chronograph Stainless Steel 18k Sedna Gold. Black on Rubber Strap. A co-axial mechanical automatic watch with just a bit of bling added. I managed to get a great Discount, with 5 years Omega Warranty, from an Authorised AD. Bridging the price gap enough to knock the Frogman off my radar now. No regrets, but the Frogman is still nice. 😊
the bracelet is very nice and I was thinking if Casio offered one with a blue insert (or black DLC) it would be perfect for the BF1000R as it seems Casio colour matches the bracelet lock colour to the case colour detail.
@@masterwatch yes, I can see that. However, the gold accent on the lock, is the same exact finish as the MRG logo (polished gold). The finish on the yellow frogs hardware is a dull gold finish. I think the polished finish looks perfect with the blue frog and you wouldn’t be disappointed.
I’ll be back in Tokyo in September so I’ll try this on there + then. Hoping it’s OK for smaller wrists but many of the oversized G-shocks wear well even on slim wrists.
@@masterwatch - it looks great actually. Can I ask you? - the day hand on the right, does that sweep around slowly or just snap onto the next day instantly at 12:00?
@@masterwatch - glad I caught you . . . I’m so tempted to get this from Bic Camera tomorrow but it seems like the day hand isn’t that well aligned with the letters? Does your day hand point directly onto the middle point of the ‘W’ (Wednesday)? Not sure if this is misalignment or if they’re all like this?
@@edwardcatt2399 might be the camera angle as on mine it appears aligned.. or rather to the eye I really can't see any error. MR-G should be pretty perfect in my experience.
How are the MRG’s holding up to daily wear ? I’m a little hesitant to wear mine a lot. Feel more comfortable wearing the MRG B5000R daily than the bracelet versions. Maybe I’m just too OCD !
I think you are right. The MRG-B5000R is probably the perfect daily wearer and perhaps one of the best Square releases ever. I really would like one. I find all G-Shocks good wearers as they are by nature tough although if you do use them they are going to mark like every other watch. These days I tend to wear watches as a pleasure and to match an outfit (says the fashion victim 😂) and for cooking timing eggs and potatoes... am a bit of a geek really.
I am warming up to large in your face G shock watch. I have a number of Casio watches but no G Shock yet. I was thinking about getting a G Shock Square because it is under the radar, but it is boring. Then I started listing at a GSG Mudman100 on sale 50% off at Costco. If you are going to wear an industrial tough watch go loud and proud.
@@masterwatch Same here, have a small 6.5" wrist but I bit the bullet and bought the MRG-B2000R-1AJR. It's a big watch but definitely wearable lug to lug. It also has blue accents like the Frogman. However, this Frogman is next on my list, but I will probably buy it preowned :)
@@rossdev the B2000R is a nice watch and I like the way G-Shock offers these colour accents it is cool. Based on what you have I would think you would like the frog. You have to remember these MR-Gs are high end watches.
Giant watch like other g-shock. İf casio want to join to high price tag watch market, they have to realize that they are not producing a palettized tank, where is the aesthetics of this watch. İf someone says this is scuba watch, i say all g-shock is same size almost, mr-g, mt-g, etc.
@@masterwatch i like g-shock. But it is placed himself at field watch, like safari, scuba, etc. Becaıse of this they made bulky watch to protect the watch. But it can be everyday watch if it is more aesthetic. Casio should think about it. At the end of the day, very less people goes to camp with 5000dolar outdoor watch.
what is so attractive about that hideous brick on the wrist?! really a montruous hideos horrible watch. Why dont you put the kitchen wall clock on the wrist instead?
I've actually called it a wall clock on the wrist myself but I still do like it and all the functions it has. It is probably more mechanical art and I can imagine not everyone likes it.

I can relate to you and understand your process. The 300 18k Gold is very nice and a rubber strap with a watch like that is always going to work.
Great review as always! The titanium bracelet is also very good and I mostly wear it that way. It’s a good option.

I would try on as you might find it fits well and you are right even though some G-Shocks are larger they still wear fine.

I agree.. or just wear what you like. The titanium makes it very wearable in terms of weight and the size matches the style and design really.
i order it, and i will received it within 2 weeks, love the colour, low profile

Excellent review, buying one this eve!
I think it will be one of those collectables in the future also. the build quality is very high.
