If you buy the A1000, you can download the G-Shock Bluetooth app that will connect with the watch and within the app, it should state clearly how much battery is left. I don't own A1000 but my GPW-2000 is also Bluetooth connected and that's how I can check my battery level. That aside, you really don't need to worry about battery life from Casio Tough Solar watches; they last a phenomenally long time even if they are at home and placed next to a window. I hope that helps to answer your question.

I can't believe that everyone is freaking out because Casio made an analog Frogman. I consider the analog Frogman a change of pace with a classic watch, because Casio is just remixing colors and attaching celebrity names to the basic models. I'm happy to have the digital and the analog Frogman in my collection.
As non-diver, i like new analog frogman. at the moment it is most fully loaded analog casio watch. And it looks really premium. Of course it leaks many options, that D1000 has. But as an ordinary user, i would never buy digital frogman- because of old type of display. I simply dont like how it looks. Watch body is brutal made, 3d....and flat blackwhite LCD. Despite, new A1000 is very good balanced and designed. Brutal body and deep 3d watch face. Assymetrical strap and assymetrical dials on the face. A top peak of design. In sports i brutally use Garmin Fenix 6x-it has all possible sport features, coloured big display, long battery life. New A1000 is just stylish watch with huge quantity of features for ordinary use. Premium look+ all possible analog watch features is a key of success of this watch. But its just for outdoor and style. Its all about design and style. Not for divers. I would advice Casio to make for example D2000 with bigger, coloured digital display, to save all D1000 options+ add something new, bluetooth, and some additional dive features. But...
Im a PADI Rescue Diver. I do use my dive wrists computer in salt water at deeper dives. But I also do fresh water dives in caves and a few Blue Holds. And find the Casino Frogman is good were my dives are not as deep as salt water open water (Ocean) especially going in to caves and hard Rock the Casino is fantastic and holds up well against cave walls. Were as my dive computer would damage against rock wall. Most of my cave dives are not as deep and my bottom time is longer. And I enjoy to explore around rock and want that tough G-Shock Protection.
I prefer the D1000 way more. Really not a fan of the analog. Digital feels more g shock to me lol. Would get a D1000 but really don't want to pay $1200-1400 aud. I'm still wearing my smoky gray gulfman on the original battery. Will probably just keep using it until it's completely dead.
The GWF-A1000 looks amazing, and I'd definitely consider getting one if I didn't already have an analog G-Shock. However, I think the GWF-D1000 would be the better pick for me, since it's digital and I'm looking for a G-Shock like that.
i just bought one. I am not a diver nor am I planning to go diving . i love the look and i feel that the watch is a nod for other analog diving watches out there.(like the submariner for example) If I ever go diving i will appreciate it's features such as better water resistance and under time water. but let's face it . the face of the watch is what most of us fall in love with. the blue tooth will be many times more useful than a depth meter or compass. i rather have my phone always on time and with the ability to sync time if i fly somewhere than the compass or depth meter. Also you don't need a screw back on a solar watch in my opinion. the carbon is probably never going to be opened. If you are a serious diver the digital one is better no doubt,. when under water you need something that relies information easily and accurately like a digital watch so i don't think the analog version is aimed for someone that dives for a living. Besides like someone else mentioned there are diving computers that are much better for this line of work or hobby,
You comment is spot on. I don’t think any serious Divers are gonna be wearing this Watch while diving. There are equipments out there just for that. But man this Watch is so Beautiful. I wish they did this Watch with Analog as Well as Digital like I have on my Gravitymaster.
It's a pity to loose the ABC sensor and other functions. Thank you for the review. Let's hope that the next analog frogman will get these functions back.
No one uses dive watches in tec, which says a lot...For recreational diving, I've seen several high falutin guys wearing seikos, paneris, omegas and rolexes to dives then losing them. Worse is when it costs a bomb, and they get a staff member to jump in to search for it after decompressing. One guy apparently lost a 20k rolex. If I ran a dive operation, I'd ban everything that is not a computer. If anything, it'll be better if they dropped stuff like dive logs off the frogman. If you aren't getting all these info from a dive computer, you're doing it wrong, period. Love the new analog direction its taking though.
The new Red analog model BLOWS the digital away in looks. That's subjective of course - however - analog is easier to see - could not care less about carbon fiber - its 'gorgeous' on the inside (its not) but no one will see it when you're wearing it lol. For a dedicated diving watch - the lack of depth is a miss - no doubt- however - i would wager that less than 10% of these are the primary diver's tool. The analog red can be had for $500 in June of 2022 and is a beast. Not even a close call.
This is my concern as to the direction that Casio has taken in recent years as to their watches. Analog is a nice feature and is a throwback to the origins of Dive Watches but a Casio is not a Rolex or Omega. That said as well as my biggest gripes about Negative Display he has a huge point. Casio watches were always sought after because of their rugged design their ease of use and clarity of their display. They have gone trendy over Form and Function and that is a mistake.
I have an Analog Digital Gravitymaster and I have to say it’s the best thing Casio have done. Analog allows me see the time quickly while on the move whereas a lot of times cause of the Work I do I need to look at the Digital time for that Precise time in seconds. I wish the Frogman had both Analog as well as a Digital Display.
Yeaaaa it’s a good looking watch, but it sucks compared to digital frogman. Digital frogman is goated. Maybe in a couple years the analog will be cooler.... but not now.
I just purchased the gwf-d1000b a couple days ago. I've been lusting after it for years and finally bit the bullet before they get too expensive. Next to the a1000, the d1000b is a much more beautiful watch. I think an analog digital version would've been a cool move for the new Frogman. Having the mode indicator/tide graph indicator as the digital portion would've been a smart move. Maybe in a future iteration they'll do that. I hope they consider it.
Casio made a mistake. All they had to do is add Bluetooth and maybe go quad sensor on the D model. If they wanted to blow us away, go Ti screw back case like with squares. Most divers I know use a digital dive computer on there wrist, a watch is secondary, with the back light on the frogman d model, what else do you need? I don’t know, very disappointed with the new frog.
I agree with you. I just don't like the look of the analogue Frogman. Honestly, if you put the analogue Frogman on the wrist, it looks like any other generic watch; it doesn't stand out (in a fashion/I want people to gasp and look at my asymmetrical watch when I'm outside). Even if you don't go diving (I don't either) I go to Thailand a few times and do some snorkelling in the sea and let me tell you; you WANT the D1000 on your wrist to look at the time; why? Because it has the automatic light when you swivel your arm as opposed to pressing a button with a light that doesn't light up the whole face (I'm talking about the analogue) whereas the D1000 is backlit and you can see everything on the face. I have Japan Coastguard version and it pops out when I'm outside and notice other G-Shock wearers. Immediately their eyes are drawn to my yellow and black band and they KNOW what I'm about; an urban fake diver. LOL. But still, everyone knows a Frogman even if they think it's ugly as sin and I love it!
Many people think it’s awesome looking and well made…Watches are subjective and nobody needs ANY of them these days with their phones in their pocket or hand all day long…Opinions on what looks cool or doesn’t vary massively from person to person…Why bother writing so much about a watch that isn’t perfect for you? So many people love the look of it and you’re completely wrong….Many owners of these analogue Frogmen write about how fantastic it looks in person and how much more they like them than much more expensive watches they own. And as for your yellow banded digital piece….The black version of this absolutely blows your watch out of the “water”….So many other people would agree with me that these are MUCH better looking, Cooler, classier, more mature and more UNIQUE than your watch lol😂…Totally disagree with your comment about these being generic looking. I came across these because they are gorgeous and INTERESTING looking
@@briandorsey6437 it's funny you wrote that. I see I wrote this 2 years ago and I had my attitude adjusted to it in that time. I'm afraid I bought two carbon fibre ones. Yes. Two. I hold my hand up and admit I was wrong.

@@briandorsey6437 mate, not all internet users are defensive and I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. To be honest, I'm still a little unsure of the original A1000s because of their colourway but I simply adore the XC carbon version. I liked some of the elements of the I.C.E.R.C. so I bought the white strap and removed the bracelet off one of the csrbons to make a black and white one. I should have mentioned that I had a GPW-2000 olive drab which I used at work but that thing was even bigger than my Japan Coast Guard (which I went and sold not much after writing my original post because they were fetching a high price). Thanks for your take and making the effort to write :)
I guess only 10% of the frogman owners are actual divers. I liked the digital frogman (GWF-D1000) as a backup for diving. Depthmeter is really accurate and it is a useful addition. However divers tend to use a "real" divecomputer. Thats why they may have turned back on those functions.
I loved the video and great comparison. However, how come you didn't show the new Frogman's dive feature of measuring elapsed time, surface time, and dive recordings? And I've been using the new frog as a backup watch for sometime now and I absolutely love it. I read the comments and hear the disappointment of no triple sensors, etc. And personally, I think Casio just trimmed the fat. The depth gauge is nice, but it was only up to 260 feet, and I've dove deeper than that, so it didn't do much for me. I get it, casual diving is nice to have but not a must. Compass, my dive computer does that and I'm not navigating an obstacle course. Thermometer, don't really see the point unless the watch is off your wrist. My Protrek has the same features and I almost never use them hiking. They are fun to have, but not really needed. So I just think they trimmed the fat. But I have both Frogs and love them the same. But really love the analog. Just my thoughts.
Cool story, bro. But for most of us this is passion. I am fully aware that there ARE diving computers, you people can drop the "bUt I/YoU am/are NoT dIvInG wiT it" point. I think I speak the mind for a lot of frog fans in this hobby - we simply love the heavy duty build tech, for the sake of heavy duty build tech. And I might not be a diver but I know redundancy is always a good thing under water, so he might not be your main man, but surely your wing man. This new Frogman was built just for the people with the ""muh notdiving" argument... And they ruined all the fun. Not to mention he is not even digital, again minus points. The A-frog is a good watch, definite buy under retail, but compared to the D- Frog... Not so much. PS: thermometer can be used under water, same way the compass is with positioning compensation, meaning he can work no matter in what position.
@@desireless4092 Actually, funny thing, I noticed a flaw in the analog Frog and sold it. Lol. I just couldn't let that slide. I bought a frogman GWFD1000B-1, and without a doubt, it is a superior watch to the analog. So I do redact a lot of my previous post.
@@Blueeyes2584A I am considering A-Frog for collection purposes for my Frog pound... But he is just so boring and worst - he looks like Edifice EQB-501, not joking, Google it. What was wrong with yours?
@@desireless4092 I did notice that about the Edifice face, which was kind of a let down. However, what ended the love affair were two features, one of the stop watch and the other in the timer. Outside of those two modes, as the video correctly points out, you can move the hands to see clearly the two subdials. However, in both stopwatch and elapsed time mode, you couldn't. Both utilize the subdial at the 7 o'clock position. So if you're running either function, and the hour and minute hands are in that quadrant, you can't move them out of the way, which defeats the purpose. I feel Casio knew of this problem and still released the watch regardless. But that was enough to end the romance. I sold it soon after. It just bothered me.
@@Blueeyes2584A you can't have it either way, since he is analog. If he was ana-digi like GWG-1000 for example, this wasn't going to be an issue. And you might say "but legibility" but you already own the D-Frog and I am sure you are now familiar with its large and easy to read display. Also Seiko's premium SBBN Tuna line are way better analog divers than the A - Frog
GWF-D frogman leave no space on the side , looks fuller with button & sensor , unlike previous generation , including this new ones which added philip bolt on screw in between those button/pusher , analogue frogman does looks bulkier , i think
13:52 carbon core is not stronger than steel, steel is stronger than both carbon-resin and titanium. The benefits of carbon-resin and titanium are their strength to weight ratios, but for the same size watch, steel would be stronger, just heavier.
good video ,on the newer frogman they should have made the makers lume better ,so it would be like say a Seiko /Citizen divers . Seems they wanted it to be more streamlined etc.
Carbon core monocoque seems better when it comes to practicality. Also why you lying? Everyone knows the borneo frogman is the best colorway for the analog frogman haha!
I would go for the analog, only missing the depth meter then it would be great. Seldom use other functions such as compass etc while underwater. Hopefully Casio can add the depth meter function in the next frogman analog model.
Dude they missed the mark HUGELY on this one. First time I've sat out on the frog since its release. A dive watch with no depth gauge??? Hahaha i have some ocean front property in Montana for sale too if anyone is interested CHEAP! Hint hint both are JOKES. If you went with this instead of the GPS Rangeman I feel bad af for you
Casio tried to go with a traditional analog diver and the idea wasn’t bad. The monocoque case is stronger and Seiko uses a similar design for its legendary Marinemaster. Unfortunately, capturing the essence of classic analog diver and a modern G-Shock are difficult to execute properly. It seems that Casio couldn’t reconcile their design objectives.
I'm afraid I might have to disagree with that; I have D1000 and I have GPW 2000 (Gravity master) and I love the analogue on it. I use the Gravity master usually for work and the D1000 in my spare time because the band is yellow and doesn't really go with the clothes I wear at work. There are sensible watches and there are casual watches in my case and both watches serve their purpose perfectly. :)

It does look very nice mine just arrived
Wow the original has a lot of features
The new one not even have depth gauge ops
I have both and your review is spot on EXCEPT, the new frogman looks best in blue! 🤣😂. Mine are both blue, but I like the GWF-D1000B the best, it just does more and easier to read the watch face, the newer model is very hard to read anything except the time and having to pull out my phone to change settings, etc is meh...I would send it back but I bought it from Japan and don’t want to pay shipping, I did save money on it with free shipping to me and only paying $700, not $800...🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
BigHouse Fan lol... nah red is better. I still think it’s a sweet watch but definitely inferior to the GWFD... under retail is the best way to get it.
In real life, does the blue one have any blue in the face, because it looks black in the photos. The blue in the band looks lost with nothing matching
thanks for this video, its very helpful for me who is planning of having one, does both have an hourly chime signal because it is very useful for my job (seaman), and does the battery life can last a very long time? thanks again sir
I can't believe that everyone is freaking out because Casio made an analog Frogman. I consider the analog Frogman a change of pace with a classic watch, because Casio is just remixing colors and attaching celebrity names to the basic models. I'm happy to have the digital and the analog Frogman in my collection.
I agree although the Carbon Core Guard is like cool but the Steel with the Frog is one of the Coolest thing ever.
Apparently, not. because when they redid it for the mrg they had to adjust the mode subdial quite a bit.
ThTs Funny. I love your review. But I prefer the Analog. Goes with my GWG-1000 and GPW-2000
Is this a precursor to rainbow toad?
I like the digital traditional
version of the frogman
And I enjoy to explore around rock and want that tough G-Shock
Protection.
bro where can i buy a GWF-D1000? I really want, one of these best,
Amazon
I prefer the D1000 way more. Really not a fan of the analog. Digital feels more g shock to me lol. Would get a D1000 but really don't want to pay $1200-1400 aud. I'm still wearing my smoky gray gulfman on the original battery. Will probably just keep using it until it's completely dead.
I love analog watches , but Casio got this wrong.
Missing depth gauge , I’ll wait for the next model.
Looks like a real nice watch, criticism aside. Definitely has the looks if not the functions.
They are simply fantastic.
The GWF-A1000 looks amazing, and I'd definitely consider getting one if I didn't already have an analog G-Shock.
However, I think the GWF-D1000 would be the better pick for me, since it's digital and I'm looking for a G-Shock like that.
the new frogman missing some sensors because of the recent model of the rangeman
i just bought one. I am not a diver nor am I planning to go diving . i love the look and i feel that the watch is a nod for other analog diving watches out there.(like the submariner for example)
If I ever go diving i will appreciate it's features such as better water resistance and under time water. but let's face it . the face of the watch is what most of us fall in love with. the blue tooth will be many times more useful than a depth meter or compass. i rather have my phone always on time and with the ability to sync time if i fly somewhere than the compass or depth meter.
The screw back on the digital frogman was one of the selling points for me.
That second hand is locked on point. Perfect. Should be for $800, too.
davek12 what do you mean?
The second hand points exactly at the indices on the face. Sometimes they are misaligned on quartz watches.
davek12 ahhhh gotcha! Casio definitely has mastered their art. It’s a gorgeous watch for sure.
In my experience, casio is good at that
It's a pity to loose the ABC sensor and other functions. Thank you for the review. Let's hope that the next analog frogman will get these functions back.
Definitely will be tricky to do so on a full analogue display, so I guess the best thing to do would be to incorporate an ani-digi display.
Yep. At the end of the day all it really is is a back up bottom timer
The Ana-Frog don't have a deep meter?
I don´t think so. That´s why it´s cheaper than the one that came before.
That's very very bad man, thank mate ✌🏽
Negative displays aren't an issue, unless they are using STN LCDs or MIP.
Nice frogman 🐸🐸
@@joshualee8022 lol wow I didn’t expect that response. Have a good day sir and your taste has changed for the better! It’s weird I just came across this model now 4 years after it was released. I’m usually into much smaller watches.
Nice video this is my favorite quartz watch it is giving Seiko and citizen a run for the money comparing each watch I would pick the frogman
I don’t think there is a auto light feature in this watch .
If you don´t go diving then why having a Frogman anyway? for divers it is important to be able to download the data...
Im totally ok as long as they keep both options
My opinion much good looking Analog designed than digital.. make it new one
I wonder if that digital one still available somewhere lol nice video
Yeah I saw it on Ebay
I prefer purely digital watch, let's go!!!
Casio original start with digital watch.but now latest analog but I prefer digital
good video ,on the newer frogman they should have made the makers lume better ,so it would be like say a Seiko /Citizen divers . Seems they wanted it to be more streamlined etc.
Carbon core monocoque seems better when it comes to practicality.
Also why you lying? Everyone knows the borneo frogman is the best colorway for the analog frogman haha!
Cool looking watch! I’d definitely go with the red.
When will you do another Sale video?
Bill Dobberpuhl looking for anything in particular?
Gi-Shock-Go GWGs mudmaster and frogs..
Which mud masters do you have?
Frogman is initially designed as dive computer for diver, not a dive watch like submariner
I love the analog model.
Next week i will buy the black version 😍
$800 G-Shock with a $200 plain rubber keeper.
The new one looks better though 😁
i guess G Shock Frogman should stay as digital, that the unique about it!
I would go for the analog, only missing the depth meter then it would be great. Seldom use other functions such as compass etc while underwater. Hopefully Casio can add the depth meter function in the next frogman analog model.
Prefer the digital wich I own and use in scuba diving..
Dude they missed the mark HUGELY on this one. First time I've sat out on the frog since its release. A dive watch with no depth gauge??? Hahaha i have some ocean front property in Montana for sale too if anyone is interested CHEAP! Hint hint both are JOKES. If you went with this instead of the GPS Rangeman I feel bad af for you
Frogman lo mejor, the best!
the gulfmaster is more capable than the new frogman, i think casio is suffering from an identity crisis
Blue for the win.
Please. The GWF-D1000 is better?
No answer ! Déception
There are analog people & there are digital people. Diff strokes for diff folks.
SpeedyGonzales you’re right about that
I'm afraid I might have to disagree with that; I have D1000 and I have GPW 2000 (Gravity master) and I love the analogue on it. I use the Gravity master usually for work and the D1000 in my spare time because the band is yellow and doesn't really go with the clothes I wear at work. There are sensible watches and there are casual watches in my case and both watches serve their purpose perfectly. :)
but i like the old frogman gshock
i always thoght the new frogman would come with MIP lcd same as in rangeman, it would have been so good. It was a step back for me.
You don’t understand, a diver doesn’t need a second dive computer.
2:47 please do not unscrew your crown underwater 🤦♂️
Video start at 1:29
Before just annoying intro
Was waiting for this lol. I really don’t like this new frog man 🤦🏽♂️
I'm not blown away by this model, it's ok but not great.
IMHO the digital frogs look much better and sharp
For me..frogman should just come with digital.. just my opinion...
Prefer the digital. Design of the analog is horrible with the exception of the lights.
Never been a fan of Frogman line, but this Analog even less to me!!!
The BEST choice right now to pick a watch diver Is a Citizen Aqualand.
I already bought a DW 6900 places faces and waiting the new NEON model, i own tons of DW 6900 versions and the Mudman 9000.
I love those two models over all, have my Rangeman 9400 just for apocallypse case
Lmao... 9400 for the apocalypse. I agree there
Bro carbon core gaurd is different than carbon monocoque and this watch is carbon monocoque designed
The analog Frogman does have Tide graph, as is shown in the right subdial. Greetings!
Save your money and get the Gulfmaster GWN-1000 that is analog with Compass, moon phase and depth sensor, this watch is a total rip off
Pffff and wear a much uglier watch…These are gorgeous
@@briandorsey6437 if you afford it abd that's your priority I am the last person to argue, whatever makes you happy!
