Very nice! Thank you for walking us through your mixing technique and how you blowout your Dutch pours. All three turned out very pretty. I’m with you on the Pebeo Studio Iridescent Gold…I think it dries so beautifully and can add a lot to pretty much any piece.
Thanks for appreciating so much about the video!I think my voice is either soothing or makes you want to fall asleep in an annoying way😂-honestly if the voiceovers were easier for me I would get more videos out…
Thanks so much, that’s really nice to hear! I’m dedicated to try to produce a long form video once a week from now on-finally have more means to do so😊
@ that’s awesome! I will continue to share with tutorials and tips, I’m considering doing a live occasionally after I’ve been posting regularly and have a group that would be interested, that way people can ask questions…
Michaela’s these are Stunning. I do appreciate your step by step instructions. I will be looking at all your RUclips videos. I am also following you on IG. I am just starting out and didn’t know about this kind of painting. You have inspired me to try. ❤❤
i JUST started this only thing i dont have is that floetrol (flood) i just came across mixing just water but i tried apple barrel pouring medium the other night n i messed up i want cells i have the paint the canvas and the blow dryer and torch so after watching your video im gonna try again! thank you! you are painting the exact colors i want also :)!!!
Hello, Michaela, I live in Argentina, the paints you used are not available here. Can this technique of diluting with water be used for other types of acrylic paints that have the same consistency to dilute it with water? Thank you, I loved your tutorial and everything you do❤️
Great tutorial! Thank you so much. I didn’t realize you could thin out the paints that much. I thought they had to be thicker in order for them not to run and keep the design intact. Those are beautiful examples, too. ❤
Thanks so much for appreciating! Yes when the paint is super thin like this it actually flows better, so you can get abstract designs that have very organic flow and unique designs -also dries with super smooth finish. Just takes practice how much paint to use and blowing it 😄
It can take 2-4 days for a small pour like this it depends if there is a larger puddle of paint somewhere in the middle and the temperature and humidity of your room. If it looks shiny anywhere on the canvas when the light hits it then that part is not completely dry-so don’t touch it! Also depends on the type of canvas you are using, maybe I will do a video on this topic because it’s another one I am asked frequently and there’s no definitive answer, depends on many things …
@@suzijc yes in my last video published I show how I varnish several of my paintings. I just don’t varnish most before filming a RUclips or instagram video because it’s difficult to show colors and details well on camera due to the reflective varnish. I have also resined quite a few though I don’t enjoy working with resin. There are like 3 videos posted here where I used a resin finish.
@@nimfaes7744 Hi, thanks for your comment. The paint and water works well when you use specifically these brands of paints-it’s about 40-50% water that varies with the colors and sometimes I have my white diluted up to 1:1 using a measuring cup(not a scale). The paints hold up very well! I have pieces that are many years old and still super vibrant! I do varnish the ones that I really love after a week or two of drying. They key is to not smother the colors in white base or use too much white base under the colors use this will often cause the pour to change in the drying process and become much duller. Maybe I will do a short video just showing some pieces I did years ago, because I know this is a concern for people. The reason I don’t use mediums is I wanted to be able to create very frequently for fun and to improve my skills. So these paint brands with water are a very inexpensive way to experiment with abstracts on canvas and also reuse scraped paint and tint it for a base color another time. Also you can reuse the canvas later if you haven’t varnished it -you just have to sand and prime. That said I have some new ideas I want to try out with mediums and different paints for a slightly different style but still blowing very thin paints. But for these new ideas it’s a lot more expensive with pouring mediums and some very high quality fine art paints. I will always come back to this paint and water mix because it’s so easy to prep, almost no smell, affordable and fun. Really great for beginners and enabled me to learn a lot over the years! Hope that answers your questions-lol my response was kind of a lot😅
@michaelasartistry ohhh. I really appreciate your quick response. Yahh, it's true that water is very inexpensive and environment friendly. Lol. Thanks for discovering your channel. 💐 I have another concern. Am a beginner, 62 years old living in the Philippines. Started my interest in painting during pandemic. This is one of the advantages of COVID in my life. Lol... I wonder if I can use an alternative for the torch? The torch available here is the one used in culinary (like in cream brulee). Is it the same? Thank you so much...
Michaela you have a beautiful voice to my ears, but as I'm deaf (80%), I can't really understand what you're saying because of the background music that covers your beautiful voice... It's a shame... But but but but I appreciate the way you explain everything and your choice of colors!!!! !!! I don't blame you since you gain a new fan! I don't blame you since you gain a new fan! See you soon!
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate your constructive feedback. I do struggle with the sound and turned the music down as low as it would go and then thought maybe I should turn my voice volume up-but I would have had to go through it all again and was super tired. I’m aiming at improving my video quality as I create more and thankful you still felt the content valuable & subscribed!
Thanks I’m working on it. It’s hard to talk alone to no one in a quiet space and takes practice. Also I tend to do the voiceovers at night or early morning when there’s the least amount of background noise -but I’m probably tired. My real voice is actually not so soft, I am going to try less voice overs in the future maybe that will help😂
Hi Michaela ! I like watching your work in progress AND listen your pretty voice ! BUT since I am deaf I can't understand anything from what you are tellling us because of the music which overlap your voice... Not really necessary. Your French subscriber Pat

Do you ever varnish or add a layer of clear resin after your paintings are dry?
