I’ve seen some interesting arguments, and I just want to add another point to the video real quick-
Some people say Starlight isn’t an adequate comparison, even though she successfully destroyed Equestria a dozen times over again.
Alright, fine. Then what about Chrysalis? She was standing right next to Cozy, and had kidnapped the princesses multiple times. In the season 6 finale, even after getting about as far as Cozy did in the season 8 finale, Starlight at least TRIED to offer her redemption.
Also- I see people attacking writers- this is not the point of this video. The point of this video is to attack the characters as if they were real people. I’m calling Twilight a hypocrite, not the people who wrote Twilight.

Cozy's been at the Friendship School this whole time. Twilight HAS been teaching her friendship, and Cozy used it against her.
Why was she not offered a hoof in friendship? Because she was already given it, and used it for her own agenda.
They all knew Tirek and Chrysalis were evil before, but Cozy was unassuming and right under their noses.
She was a clear threat that knew exactly what she was doing.
And again, she came back for more. All the other villains outside her, Tirek and Chrysalis never did. She learned nothing from her punishment.

To make up for having Cozy Glow sent to Tartarus in Season 8, Celestia and Luna should have had her locked up in the same dungeon where they were locked up in during the Season 9 finale with frequent visits from a therapist since I don’t think Equestria has mental hospitals, it’s still a little dark but at least there’s a chance she’ll reform eventually.

@@DaveMan1K I doubt the school of friendship is specifically saying "friendship should not be used for evil! it's only for good!" and even with that, Cozy has an agenda + an already solidified misconception on what friendship is (a block used to get more power). If she was personally schooled on the matter, I believe she would've seen the error in her thought process.
Also I don't believe that trapping a child, especially a mischievous/sly child, in a (literal) cage is the way to punish them. For Cozy, with her anger and her sharp mind, she'd only want to think about getting out. Especially since she was only reassured that her hate for Twilight and being evil is a good thing all throughout her stay in Tartarus. She's a child. She's emotional and can easily be steered towards the wrong way.
Twilight knew she was going down the wrong path during their first confrontation and didn't think about helping her personally? Or offering her some sort of help?
She should be disciplined for her actions but simply locking her in a cage and expecting it to turn out well is terrible.

And seeing as locking her up didn't work, and she came back swinging harder, naturally they had to resort to something more permanent to keep her from harming others again.
Twilight and the others were far harsher to the CMC in Ponyville Confidential than they were to Cozy. THAT was a true act of hypocrisy and dodging responsibility.

@@DaveMan1K it's like what was mentioned in the video, you can't put a square block into the circle hole. She still has plenty of time to grow and reform (as she's what, 12 at MAX?) and become a better person. Can a child truly never be saved? Especially as young as she is? They can't immediately write her off as a lost cause when she's likely not even halfway to adulthood yet. They just need a different approach that's all. If she continues to prove to be untrustworthy once she reaches adulthood, then she should be sealed. Till then they should work with her and keep her under tight supervision.

I would even argue that Twilight DIDN'T try to reform her. That small talk wasn't her offering a second chance or explaining why she was wrong, just that she was wrong. With Starlight, she actually tried to help her change, and its not like that mare was any less stubborn. Heck, even after seeing the bad future, she still needed convincing.
And that's not even getting into Discord, who never did anything to earn a second chance, consistently betrayed the trust and was forgiven all the time. And even after everything he pulled in season 9, he not only got to get away with it, but also got to pick Cozy's punishment.
Honestly, even if she were an adult, I would still believe that Cozy deserved better. Her being a child just makes it even worse.

      @Mathma7 5 месяцев назад +66

Yeah, I figured the same thing; I can’t take the idea that Cozy actually is a child seriously. Based on the fact that we never see Cozy’s parents, the fact that she was able to concoct this whole long-running evil scheme, had these manipulation skills, and even her appearance giving some old-times vibes, I headcanoned that as you said, she really is an adult stuck in the body of a child (like Babydoll from Batman), and uses that to her advantage because it means people underestimate her and don’t perceive her as a threat. But, yeah, the show should’ve addressed that if it was the case, because it does kinda feel that at some point Twilight did become aware of it.

Ok so I agree with everything here. What makes me mad is that almost every other villain was offered the chance. Chrysalis kidnapped Cadence and left her in a mine to die, literally attacked Twilight, almost took over Canterlot, and then kidnapped almost everyone in Equestria to take it over. And SHE was offered Redemption. I don't hate the writing of the later seasons, I'm definitely not the biggest fan of them by any means, but Cozy Glows writing needed to be worked on. She was only evil when the plot called for it, she's easily the villain with the most screen time (minus Flim and Flam probably) and yet we no next to nothing as to why she wanted to do what she did. Even the writers probably didn't know since when she's asked she just basically glosses over the question.
A friend of mine had a theory that with the School of Friendship there was going to be a spinoff series for the young 6 and Cozy was going to be the main villain for them but the show never got off the ground and that's why they just didn't seem to know what to do with her.

Cozy not only tried to do the same to all mane 6 (without magic being locked in the tartarus), she tried to kill Starlight (as sacrifice for ritual), knowingly disable magic of pegasi and her classmates while they were in the Cloudsdale, teleported armored ponies not outside of castle, but right into the body of water. Chrysalis acted with much less lethal intent, caring for her hive. Cozy is a real dangerous psychopath and is the least of those three to be redeemed.

  • @SmokeTheHorsehog
    @SmokeTheHorsehog 5 месяцев назад +194

Just a reminder as to why this even happened, according to Jim Miller when addressed about Season 8. I'm not saying it's a good reason, it's just the official reason.
Cozy was intended as a subversion of expectations, as you wouldn't expect the main antagonist of an MLP season to be not only a child, but also a character introduced in the middle of the season instead of at the beginning or end of it. And on top of that to hit that nail in the subversive coffin, she wasn't given that chance at redemption to reverse what we've come to expect from major pony villains like Sunset, Starlight and Stygian. It was all broken due to how it was handled, of course.
And when asked for more justification for this decision, other writers stated that she, A. has no canonical parents that be brought to the table for helping her, and B. she was actually an adult in a child's body, like Baby Doll from Batman: The Animated Series. One is an oversight when it came to writing a villain like this, as at least with other evil children in media that are along the lines of Cozy Glow (Draco Malfoy, Porky Minch, etc.) we get some exploration of their home life and how they grew into the vile people they became, regardless if there was any justification. Cozy didn't get any of that, so that second excuse was thrown in.

Nope, Twilight had one conversation with her post the reveal she was evil and that was it. They did not even attempt anything besides the Tartarus imprisonment beyond that.
"Cozy Glow could manipulate everypony and that would make it hard for them to tell if she was really reformed or not!"
Starlight Glimmer literally ran Our Town with an iron fist and attempted to brainwash the Mane Six on screen, and also brainwashed the ponies of Our Town. She was just as manipulative as Cozy Glow, and she still got a reformation arc.
"She almost tired to destroy Equestria-"
Starlight messed with the timeline and made multiple bad futures which for all we know, could still exist for the sake of revenge. Nightmare Moon took over and wanted to make the night last forever. Discord threw Equestria into chaos. Tempest Shadow was one of the Storm King's underlings. All were reformed.

Chrysalis definitely deserved the statue punishment cause she was a lost cause and Tirek CAN be rendered useless without magic and jailed with higher security and no way of contact to the outside world (stone statue can still apply to him too), but Cozy wasn’t explored enough to warrant that fate. She was already in a bad state of mind by the time she was put in pony jail and Discord worsened that by letting her out and team up with Equestria’s dangerous villains in an act of “getting along and being friends”
Discord reformed cause he met the cruel reality of being friendless and lonely. His need to do the same to 4 already insane bad guys was already a bad idea and the fact he didn’t think it through is just a shit move cause he saw first hand that they WILL attack his friends which includes FLUTTERSHY of all characters, should’ve gave him an idea that getting involved wasn’t going to bring anything good to the table. It doesn’t help when he orchestrated that entire attack indirectly and then got to choose Cozy’s fate immediately after.

This is where Twilight loses to Koro-sensei. He took care of every single one of his students until his last breath, no matter what they did.
But to play devil's advocate, Cozy Glow was written as an adult posing as a kid, according to the show staff. That never made it to the show so it's not canon, but it's part of why they wrote her fate that way. The other part is that she's a traitor, who pretended to be with the good guys for a long time and then backstabbed them, so that feels worse than what the other villains did, and also how do you even try to redeem her? How do you know she's actually changed, and not just pretending again? Especially when she's smarter than everyone else? It's complicated, and you'd be betting everyone's lives on it. And the "funny" part is that this is a problem we will face in real life, once AI gets smart enough. Cozy Glow is basically the paperclip maximizer.

    • @Hariester

Cozy not only tried to starve all mane 6 to death (without magic being locked in the tartarus), she tried to kill Starlight (as sacrifice for ritual), knowingly disable magic of pegasi and her classmates while they were in the Cloudsdale, all while pretending to be their friend, then later teleported armored ponies not outside of castle, but right into the body of water. Chrysalis acted with much less lethal intent, caring for her hive. Cozy is a real dangerous psychopath (only her, Chrysalis and Tirek are not psychopaths) and is the least of those three to be redeemed.

  • @ohsovague
    @ohsovague 5 месяцев назад +72

While i still believe cozy glow should have been reformed instead of imprisoned, comparing her to starlight isn't fair because of motivation and knowledge
Starlight took revenge against cutie marks when making her village and then took revenge on twilight by making all these alternate timelines. the last of which she didn't know would end the world btw, she was genuinely surprised when twilight showed her how important her friendships were.
Cozy was intentionally malicious, trying to effectively take over the WORLD twice while knowing how disastrous both of those would be. Cozy lacks empathy and thats made clear in the show more than once while starlight doesn't.
The root for everything that cozy tried to do is simply that her view on friendship is HEAVILY misguided, which is why i believe they should have at least tried to reform her better than twilight did at the end of the season 8 finale. If she tried then and cozy still didn't accept though then ngl i can see putting her in stone then, shes too manipulative to be trusted 😹

I agree she should have had an attempt for reformation, but I'm curious about what lies behind Cozyglow. Why did she want to do any of this in the first place? "Power is to make friends," but does Cozy want power, or friendship, and why go to such extremes to get it??

I feel like the writers got kinda sick of reforming villains over a half assed apology so took pleasure just having the heroes go no holds barred on them in the later points, maybe a bit TOO much.
Really I feel like the bigger catch is Discord got away scot free and even helped punished the three, despite enlisting and straight up bullying them into doing the scheme in the first place. This was ALWAYS his plan, just a bit more chaotic than he had originally hoped, to lead them into a fun little war against Twilight and then watch them get punished for laughs. Twilight Sparkle, neither turned Cozy Glow to stone nor sent her to Tarturus (which is not hell); Celestia did that. Celestia, who even Twilight Sparkle was hesitant to reintroduce Sunset Shimmer to for fear of her wrath, Celestia who imprisoned her sister for 1000 years (or indefinitely depending on interpretation) for her attempted coupe.
Further Cozy Glows age isn't clearly established. I personally suspect that Cozy Glow looks young for her age and is in the 15 - 19 year range. But it makes a lot of sense that the School of Friendship would fit the 'Vocational Highschool" range of the US/Canda education, assuming that MLP is set in an era where highschool education is elective.
In the US justice system being a minor protects you for punishments for most crimes, but for particularly drastic crimes a minor may be stripped of this protection. The factors weighed, are the subjects age, the significance of their actions, and their understanding of them. Cozy Glow set into motion a complex plan to sieze power and devastate the nation by stripping it of its magical power. This complex scheming shows a clear understanding of her own actions and an adult punishment is warrented.
Lastly you and many others seem to misremember why Twilight Sparkle tried to redeem Starlight Glimmer. It wasn't anything like Twilight seeing the good within her and wanting her to change. She begged Starlight to give the world a second chance because Twilight was completely out of other options. After that is the complicated process of working out a fair punishment for someone who conditionally surrendered.

@AngelloGomez-nh6cc Discord was imprisoned in stone for over 1000 years . . . He wasn't just forgiven.
Celestia *wanted* to use him as a force for good and sent him to be reformed (by magic if necessary?). We don't know why he was given his third chance, but it stands to reason his broad usefulness to crown is a part of it, as well as his remorse for his actions.
In season 9, he immediately put himself on the line to help Equestria as soon as the situation was out of control (Sombra was never really a threat, Discord could have stomped him if things went to far).

Discord doesn't even get punished when the only reason the Elements of Harmony were destroyed was because of him because he freed Sombra, and how the denizens of the Crystal Empire were re-enslaved by Sombra AND he managed to enslave Cloudsdale, Ponyville and Canterlot's citizens too. Not to mention that Cozy attempting to destroy/take over Equestria s something MULTIPLE G4 villains attempted and still got redeemed for! Nightmare Moon tried to take over and go redeemed in the second episode of the show, Discord got reformed, Starlight Glimmer, every changeling except Chrysalis, Sunset Shimmer, Tempest Shadow, even characters exclusive to the comics. That was all in her introduction what the child did was Treason and assuming based on what ponies do for a cutiemark showing up she would be around 15 as a cutesenara is based on a quincenera for a 15th birthday. It was never confirmed how old she was but still she was aware she was doing it to gain power. Not to mention she was penpals with Tirek who likely warped her way of thinking if her cutiemark is to say anything she is a manipulator and a stratagist. Those kinds of people can not always be reasoned with. I can see why she would be sent to Tartarus for this and this is before discord broke her out of Tartarus. While what starlight did was brainwash a town to give up their cutiemarks and caused a time spell nothing she did was irreversible unlike what Cozie was doing. Even if she was turned to stone say she was taken out of stone when Twilight sealed magic away in the unity crystals. This would lead to why the ponies in that gen were given false information on eachother and seperated as much as they were. Though that is theoretical in and of itself.

I still to this day wish they would have given us some backstory on Cozy Glow and give an explanation as to WHAT her reason were that drove her to become evil and want to try and take over Equestria. I really wish they would have reformed the little filly, definitely unfair of her to get turned into stone. I understand Chrysalis and Tirek since they showed no interest in being reformed or bettering themselves but Cozy was a child who COULD have been reformed if given the chance. I feel bad for Cozy despite the things she did, especially when the writers of MLP gave us no backstory for her. Who knows what could have drove her into doing the things she did.

Yeah, no. The "but she's a child!" argument does not apply when you make fully conscious, manipulative, and intentionally malicious decisions. Cozy knows what friendship is. There's no misunderstanding on that part, and she's shown great aptitude in manipulating ponies to become "friends." She wants power and knows that friendship is a way to get it. Nobody told her that gaining power by using other people is the goal; again, it's not a misunderstanding, it's having a goal and being shown the "tools" to use it. Her desire for control is not something that anyone could've fixed, because even while being taught all the right things, she was still evil. Tartarus is not "pony hell", it's jail under a different name. And yeah, that sucks, but after conspiring with a known tyrant to trap the Mane 6 (including an alicorn princess) and remove the magic from the land all while almost killing 6 other kids in the process? Yes, the punishment is 100% warranted. It's not unheard of for kids to go to adult prison over adult crimes. And she hasn't changed. She stuck to her guns and tried to escape. And the second she got out of prison she helped cause what's probably the greatest threat Equestria's had to deal with. Even if Cozy was redeemable in any way, not only was it too much of a risk, but I personally don't even think she'd deserve it. Yes I know that goes against the themes but you _cannot_ convince me that the terrorist deserves a second chance.
Also, the comparison to Starlight doesn't really work. For one, Twilight was hesitant about offering her friendship in the first place. She did it specifically because, as she and the Mane 6 agreed, Starlight was way too powerful to just... Leave alone. The best course of action was redemption because the risk of not doing so outweighed whatever actions she took. Along with that, Starlight didn't know about the importance of Twilight and her friends. In her eyes, this was just petty revenge where Twilight would end up a loner, not a drastic change that would ruin the entire nation. And, unlike Cozy Glow, Starlight doesn't have inherently evil motivations. She wants equality and friendship because she couldn't handle abandonment. Obviously doesn't excuse her actions, but you can empathize with it. But Cozy? Cozy is just a megalomaniac, plain and simple. One is a lot easier to fix.
Please stop babying Cozy. She's not a "real" child, she knew exactly what she was doing. That kind of pity from her childlike appearance/demeanor is exactly what she used to manipulate others.

    • @TwyCrowMasker
      @TwyCrowMasker 26 дней назад +3

Every single one of Cozy Glow's defenders treats her like she is brain-dead.
"Oh, she could not understand the consequences of what she was doing."
Living in a society whose basis is MAGIC ITSELF, how could she? Really? She knew exactly what the consequences were and counted on them to gain power.
Even if just a filly, she was capable of manipulating EVERYONE. Fellow kids and her teachers. If she is THAT capable, she has the capacity to understand what she was doing.
She laughed when singing that they would crush their enemies while they all screamed.
"She was just a child. There were worse villains who the Mane 6 guided through redemption."
And how did they? Teaching friendship. If the litteral SCHOOL OF FRIENDSHIP did not work on Cozy, then she obviously is a lost cause. People need to understand that we probably do not get a reason for her actions because they are simply based in megalomania and selfishness.

The show have so many redemptions, besides, it theres people who can't change and the show had to teach it. But we've seen Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow working together in the Frenemies episode (and that's easily one of the best if not, the best season 9 episode), with a scene where they are realizing the magic of friendship, and the writers just made them decide to stop to work together near the end and divide the land, I agree that not all the villains should get reformed (Garble, Caballeron and Ahuizotl shouldn't have get reformed to me), but the trio showed potential for it and come close to it. I 100% thought Discord was trying to reform the trio when he pretended to be Grogar in the first time I watched The Ending of the End episode, and I get disappointed when it was said he was trying to make Twilight confident. Basically, I would've preferred to see Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow becoming friends and Grogar being the series final villain with the Mane Six and the trio teaming up against him

She got the chance to listen and redeem herself but she refused. Then listened to the literal devil. Ruled on selfishness and wanted to do revenge. No matter how she was a child she showed manipulation tendency.
While with Starlight she was stronger than Twilight so Twilight got her hand forced to actually talk to Starlight out of it.
Cozy Glow there's not backstory and not all children are good like she kept going and going even when others tried to reach out.
But for me personally I do think she deserved a punishment but they should have more opportunities showing she didn't want to be redeemed or unredeemable if thats how they wanted to write her. Like yeah alot of children do bad things because of trauma or back influences in their life.
But it isnt unheard of for children to have the best upbringing or loving family and turn out to have psychopathic tendencies. And if that is what Cozy is supposed to be they should have just shown it better than the way they did.

Cozy Glow may have misunderstood friendship, but she attended the school by her own volition before knowing what a ‘powerful tool’ friendship could be. Not to mention her being sent to prison with ANCIENT EVILS who had MULTIPLE offenses, who were probably a GREAT influence for her. She just felt like an attention-seeker, sucking up for validation, and literally concocting a plan to essentially become a princess. That’s just a child’s fantasy, a bit of an evil child, but still a child. I genuinely thought it would be revealed that she wasn’t a kid because it felt like such a strange choice. There are four ways that the stone imprisonment could go.
    1. The villains unaware of everything happening/unconscious and the punishment never ending. That basically means that they are DEAD. They killed a child.
    2. The villains aware of everything happening/conscious but the punishment never ends. Meaning that they would probably go insane.
    3. The villains aware of everything happening/conscious yet the punishment does end. They would come out even angrier than before.
    4. The villains aren’t aware of everything happening/unconscious and the punishment ends. Their anger might fade or it doesn’t, but their thrust into a totally new time without any idea how the world has changed and probably they are viewed as villains and evil.
The point is, all of these possibilities are terrible. For every single one of the villains. 1 and 4 are the ones that are most merciful. Celestia, Luna and Discord just doomed a child, a queen that cares about her hive and a centaur who feeds off magic to one of these fates. And Twilight didn’t even do anything to reform them! This is just sad.

All i gotta say is YES! Cozy does not deserve her fate! True to what you said, she's just a kid! I know some people will soon bicker with me, but come on! They should have leave Chrysalis and Tirek in stone, while Cozy gets a second redemption.
Probably im not the only one to think this, but there is one character i can think who maybe can help Cozy: Flurry Heart. Also, trap, i got this from a few fanfics i really loved, so here's the idea: maybe after a few years (before The Last Problem), Flurry, probably young CMC size/age, heard about Cozy and so against her family's words, decide to free her in hopes of giving her a second chance. Of course, Cozy didn't want her proposal, which is true everyone still remembered what happened, but Flurry says she wants to be her friend, and so reluctantly, Cozy accepts. Of course, her fam were not too thrilled about this idea, but Flurry insists she can do it. I mean, for instance, she said Glow can become her roommate.
Overtime, it actually, slowly worked: Cozy gets taught the true meaning of friendship and bonded with Flurry and they become best friends (i'd like to add "more than friends"). Adding to your previous video (i think) about a G6 being anthologies to G4, ignoring G5, this would be a perfect idea for a mini series.

Honestly buddy, I agree with you. Cozy Glow definitely deserves a chance to be reformed. Twilight should have tried harder to reform her. But I don’t think she’s an hypocrite, I know Twilight Sparkle and that’s not who she is. On that logic, who is to say she didn’t try to reform Cozy Glow? I have a theory that after she was made ruler of Equestria, she made it her mission to try and reform the villains Chrysalis, Tyrek and Cozy Glow, especially Cozy Glow. I have watched fan made videos of Cozy Glow being reformed, and the one I love the most is Diamond Tiara reforming her. Think about it those two have a lot in common. They are both bullies, they both try to assume a position of power and they both know the cutie mark crusaders. So here’s how it could work: Twilight releases her from stone, she sets her up with Diamond Tiara and they both hang out. As they hang out they exchange stories about how they both tried to assume a position of power and they both failed. Diamond Tiara then explains to her that while Cozy seek revenge, Diamond Tiara didn’t. She explains to her that no amount of power could ever fill the hole in her heart. She offers her friendship and while a bit hesitant at first, Cozy Glow agrees and she reforms. That’s the best way to reform Cozy. Finding some pony who understands her and helps her grow. Her future can still look bright. I rest my case.

Yeah, this has always bothered me as well. It makes my heart sink every time I think that that's how they ended the show and the only hint we got of them returning was at the end of the "Season 10" comic which will probably be rendered non-canon at this rate.
It's not just Twilight who looked bad in all this, but Celestia, Luna and Discord. Discord was the one who suggested they turn them to stone which does nothing for his character development since he knows how it feels to be given a second chance (and a third and fourth one too if you think about it). Luna would also know a thing or two about that, and Celestia, who had the idea of reforming Discord to begin with shouldn't have let this happen. This is why I just say that Discord was whispering something else to Celestia and Luna and suggested they keep them in stone for a while and then release them later to be put through a reforming class. This is what I did with my fanfiction series to make Discord and the princesses look like less of hypocrites and I gave Cozy an emotional reform arch that helps tell why she is the way she is. It would have been way better for them to actually take Cozy in that direction, but by the time we had 9 seasons, I think Hasbro just wanted it to be all over with and didn't care if those three got their redemption arcs or not.

look, you weren't the first to make a fanfic of this story of cozy glow being reformed since someone who speaks Spanish made a fanfic about this that was in 2020, although if they don't put the ideas you mention with celestia, luna and discord and the whisper thing, but I understand well that something that was at the end of the series is that by staying in stones it leaves a lot to talk about since they should be aware that they would be released by the weakening of magic or that the ties are broken or diminished because discord was released once, and the fanfic that I tell you about does not cover those things or what you mention but the ideas sound similar to the ideas that the G5 has as a twilight I don't feel like such a good ruler and that at least it is less incompetent than what they show in the g5 and the issue of the separation between ponies that instead of being from equestria it is actually the conflict between equestria and the crystal empire.
The fanfic is called "Impera" and is on Fanfiction Net, it is in Spanish which you won't understand unless you use a translator.

While I absolutely agree with this video, I do still have an argument for cozy glow being locked up, although still not deserving it.
I believe twilight had become a much bigger figure in equestria, so ponies expected more of her. What would everypony think if a ruler that lets someone who almost destroyed the entire country run free? They would probably start to think twilight doesn't care about bad guys, she only cares about saving equestria. I would assume the average pony would think it was a fair punishment, because they had to live through their entire home being destroyed. This is different from what happened with starlight, because nopony besides twilight and starlight actually knew about starlight destroying the entire world with different timelines, so twilight can get away with letting starlight go without much of a punishment. In the case of cozy glow, everypony went through their power being drained without warning, which they remembered after they defeated cozy glow. I would also assume most ponies would find out who did it, and I would assume a lot of ponies would think "our princess let the pony who almost destroyed our entire lives run around free, maybe our ruler doesn't actually care about the safety of it's citizens", and then proceed to hating on twilight.
My argument here is, twilight locked away cozy glow to protect her image as a trusted ruler of equestria, not because cozy glow deserved the fate (because she absolutely did not).
Of course I also just made this all up on the spot, so there's probably more I'm forgetting.

I have my own head-canon backstory for Cozy Glow:
Long ago, when Tirek and Scorpan were out to steal magic from Equestria, they came across an abandoned baby pegasus left behind by her parents. Scorpan, being good-hearted, suggested that they find her parents and not drain her of her pegasus magic, and if they couldn't find them, they would raise her as their own. Tirek was disgusted by the thought of putting up with a baby but reluctantly gave in to his brother's plan. They searched high and low for the baby filly's parents but after weeks of searching, they couldn't find them and became her unofficial adopted parents.
As expected, Tirek and Scorpan disagreed on how they wanted to raise the filly due to their separate beliefs. Tirek offered to spend more time with the filly and raise her to be evil like him, even naming her Cozy Glow and using a stolen potion that would preserve her youth for all of eternity, making her immortal. He even showed her how to manipulate others into doing what was wanted as well as other not-so-nice tricks.
After Tirek was arrested and sent to Tartarus, Cozy Glow spent the next millennia using what he showed her for her own selfish needs. She found herself enjoying being cruel and deceptive to others and not changing her ways, not once listening to how what she was doing was wrong. Then, one day when the School of Friendship was opened, an opportunity sprung up at her; a potential idea to take over Equestria and make Tirek proud.

I thought I was the only one who thought that being turned into stone was a bit too much for her 🥲🥲, cause like you said, she’s a child. Also, what about her parents (if she has them, of course) First of all, how would they feel when finding out that their kid tried to take over the world? And when she tried again? And finally when they turned her to stone?

Cozy doesn't really have a reason to target equestria in the first place. LIke she wants power, okay but why? All the other villains (except the storm king) had some reason whether canonically explained, in the comics, or just a general that makes sense
Luna: Jealousy and the shadow thingy
Discord: Well...he's just discord he's literal chaos
Chrysalis: She needs to feed her hive and thinks that taking love was the only way. But when met with a new solution she refused because stubborn and power ig
Sombra: I forget the whole story but corruption magic
    Tirek: Daddy issues
    Starlight: BFF issues
Tempest: Ableism (lost her horn and no one liked her-)
Stigian: No recognition and a misunderstanding
But cozy...what happened to her? Why does she feel the need to take over equestria? Did everyone reject her as a young foal? What was her early childhood like? Is she an orphan? Where the hell are her parents? Are they dead? Neglectful? And even so, the punishment I believe fits her is that she MUST take friendship school or juvenile reform school whatever.

She already hails from Equestria, which is also one of the most influential and expansive places. There is no requirement for her to travel who knows where to acquire power there.
The answer is present in your question: she really and merely desires authority, and this is the ending. No tragic backstory, no "I am a grown woman in a child's body" Cozy is a psychopath (an adorable one 💜❤️)
It is heavily implied that she is orphaned.

They could have had the CMC you know PONIES HER AGE that KNOW ABOUT FRIENDSHIP try and explain friendship to her. Twilight is a grown pony, she uses grown up terms that a child may not properly understand sometimes. Applebloom? She can relate to not having friends, she was mocked most of her life for not having a cutie mark UNTIL she met her friends. I'm sure she and the CMC could have been a great influence on Cozy Glow, teaching her from the perspective of someone of her own age or at least a similar age. Maybe that way she could have understood, maby Starlight could have been her mentor/caretaker too "I used to be like you, you know? But then friendship changed me, for the better. You can be better too Cozy, just let us try to teach you what the magic of friendship really means."

I like to imagine that Sunset Shimmer adopted (or at least mentored) Cozy Glow so Cozy could learn about forgiveness and redemption. The show writers knew exactly how to write a reformed character because Sunset Shimmer hands down had the best redemption arc in the entire series. So there is no excuse for what they did to Cozy Glow’s fate. This also made Twilight’s character greatly despised by the fandom which is a great shame because the OG Twilight would have done SO much better. A true Princess of friendship would teach and forgive her subjects, especially a child/filly/minor who was ORPHANED.

Villains' redemptions were always learning about friendship. Cozy was the assistant of the headmare of the School of Friendship. If all her time in the school could not prevent her from manipulating and trying to get all the power to herself, what could Twilight do that would actually work? Twilight tried to talk to Cozy straight after coming back from Tartarus, and Cozy tried to fly away. The lack of backstory for Cozy also points that the only reason for all that she did was megalomania.
There are bad people in the world who will not change because being evil is who they are. Even if they are a child.

I strongly disagree. She manipulated everyone around her every chance she got, Twilight was ready to forgive her and was that ever good enough for Cozy? No. It wasn't. She attempted to MURDER her classmates and guidance counselor, showed NO REMORSE for any actions she performed.

You comparing her to Starlight makes me realize she could've had the perfect Anti-Starlight redemption arc! I wish they had a fake redemption for Cozyglow and went all out on the Babydoll inspiration, she was so late game though they probably wouldn't have had the time to do that. It would require multiple episodes and I can see why the writers would rather focus on tying up other loose ends regarding the characters we already care about, however the consequence for that is Twilight acting out of character about Cozy's villain reveal and making said characters we care about look a lot worse. She tried to reform Starlight once before her actual reformation, and Starlight just ran off and ignored it! And even after that she was willing to try again. (Granted this was only because she knew she couldn't defeat Starlight in battle, and that trying to talk her out of it was more of a last resort. She straight up admits this to Starlight so the comparison isn't that good but still.) Cozy was her student she spent time with! Twilight if written consistently would've at least offered Cozy another chance. If Cozy did the opposite of what Starlight initially did and accepted reformation, turned out she was actually manipulating everyone again, and then also revealed that she wasn't even a kid and was instead using her "lack of power" to gain sympathy (unlike Starlight who used her power and manipulation to control ponies) then she could've been the perfect mirror!
Seeing some of the things the writers have said about cozy feels like she would've been done better if she was conceptualized just a little earlier, maybe just a bit before 2017 movie. Like c'mon they even made her blame the minorities of the school for the magic disappearing, she's smart enough to use prejudice to her advantage. And she was able to get Tirek and Chrysalis to work together by doing what she does best, catering to their interests to get them on her side! How is she not a grown adult in a child's body using her unfortunate situation to deliberately manipulate people?? It also doesn't help that the animators made her look scared when she was turned to stone! They didn't need to do that. If their intent was she was trying to make the other characters feel bad for turning her to stone so she could possibly get out of it, then it needs to be less subtle because this character gives off too many mixed signals as it is. Either she is irredeemable or she's a child being bratty, you can't have it both ways. The setup for a perfect irredeemable villain is there but they either didn't have the time, focus, or care to actually put that on screen. She as a character could even teach a valuable lesson to kids, that no matter how hard you try you can't change everyone to be better, and that sometimes all someone wants to do is manipulate you, even if that person is your friend. Also the classic looks can be deceiving lesson. I don't think Cozy's punishment was undeserved given I believe the writers when they say her parents are nonexistent and she's an adult in a child's body, but I do think it's unsatisfying and half baked, and that them admitting she's supposed to be like Babydoll from BTAS only highlights this issue. It's like basically admitting you didn't do everything you wanted with this character and she couldn't actually live up to her full potential. No hate on the writers of course though, working in the animation/TV show industry is hard enough as it is and I can't imagine they could give that part of Cozy's character the time that it needed to properly flourish. She was only a threat once, didn't get that much time to let her actions be remembered by fans before her next appearance, and then woop she's gone show's over and none of that actual depth that we get with Tirek or even Chrysalis is there. And then on top of that they just admit we didn't even get to see all of her character on screen?? I liked the finale episodes but man her character could've been done so much better.
Here's my pitch for how it could've gone if she were introduced earlier in the show's run. She could've had some huge villainous plan that's not as big as removing all of the magic from Equestria, run off like how Starlight did, someone finds her and Twilight attempts to reform her as she is a child. Cozy "reforms" and stays good for a couple of seasons, maybe with little background details like they did with Starlight where she's doing some suspicious stuff behind the character's backs. Maybe she says things like "Oh golly I gotta get home to my parents!" but then in a later scene that takes place only a few minutes later she's in the background reading a letter and grinning. Then for a season finale (or even a special if they couldn't fit it in with the episodes) she's revealed to be lying about her life. Her parents are revealed to have been made up ponies that never existed (possibly never even showing up on screen) or actors that Cozy bribed/manipulated. She's revealed to be a lot older than she actually is (possibly through old pictures of Ponyville or even some other town's annular events), and this is all being discovered as magic is slowly being lost. Instead of her being revealed to the characters as evil immediately, they don't see her during this crisis event and look for her only to discover her lie. This can replace her actual villain reveal. Then and only then can Twilight have her speech (it can be mostly unchanged with some tweaks since it would be more fitting if she had already tried harder to reform Cozyglow) and she can be sent to Tartarus. In my opinion just that change and leaving everything she does after that unchanged would at least be better. And if we absolutely wanted to we could have Starlight lament the fact she chose Friendship over revenge or trying to trick Twilight just for some extra flavor. It's not perfect and it would be a little predictable but it would've made her ending punishment more satisfying.
Or just add in the detail she's not actually a child into the actual show itself so people don't have to look at some of the writer's social medias just to learn that was what they were going for. That little tidbit would've also helped... It's not a "Yes Jackpot is Trixie's dad" situation where you can still clearly tell that's the intent. This detail is, as you can see by this video's mere existence and the comments section arguing, very important and needs to be made very clear.

I can't with how DISCORD can get away with betraying the ponies like 63738373838838282 times while A LITTLE FILLY is sent to hell the first time she does smt wrong, especially when it was his fault that Cozy and the others attacked Equestria in the first place????? And somehow he gets zero punishment

This reminds me of danganronpa where one of the villains is also a child and to not spoil it too much ,despite the fact that she also messed up ,the others still wanted to help her ,show her a better way like even the people who were her friends that got betrayed ,manipulated and hurted by her ,still thought of her as a friend and dint wantsd any harm towards her. How is it possible that a anime/game that is about mudering ,despair etc gave a chance to the child billainwhile the silly child friendly pony show decided to send a child to a hell? Waa it a way of hasbro saying "haha fuck you ! We want money now buy or toys or you will be sent to hell too!" Xd (sorry if there are mistakes. For some reasons the worda are barely visible at my phone when I write comments on youtube-)

Bapseed (i think that’s how you spell her name) is also
    A) a child
    B) who manipulated the CMC
    C) abounded the CMC (We can interpret this as rejection)
    D) bullied the CMC (to the point they sang a song about how bad she was)
    E) at the end found the error of her ways and reformed.
Same thing can be said for silver spoon (i think)
