Can I just say THANK YOU for explaining this so simply. You know how to word it so that I don’t feel stupid yet I understand it at the same time. This was way simpler than I expected it to be. I can’t wait to work on a few projects around the house thanks to you!
I used this same style of shelf brackets in my dining room. I had empty spaces on both sides of my fireplace so I shot a laser level across the entire wall, put up the brackets, then cut the shelves to fit. Easiest shelf install ever! Great work, Glen!
I'm so glad I checked this video out! I ran into a snag on my on laundry room project with shelving and dowels. I'm making a video of it on my channel. This was a life saver!! Thanks! lol
Thanks for sharing, I have an area in my Laundry Room with this type of open space and didn't know what to do with it, no more, thanks. I really enjoy your videos.
Oh man bud!!!! I remember the back splash!!! I think that was the video that actually got me watching you!!! Fantastic little build bud, Dirty Jersey out!!!!
I just subscribed. Your aesthetic for warm woody colors and things matches mine. I too am building floating shelves for my games and this was fun for me to watch.
Nice job. Simple project that most anyone should be able to handle. I’ve been meaning to do something like this in my daughters room for 18 years. 🤣 oops. It was great hanging out this weekend. I hope you had a great time. 👊🏼
I can't wait to get my own place to build stuff like this , lol I got hella ideas of yours I wanna try with some variations keep the dope content coming bro
Great video as always! I was wondering if you could make a video going into some depth about brad nailers I want to get one to help with projects but when I went to my local big box store and the guys in blue and orange vests could help me! Either they didn't want to or they don't know much about them either.
If u have an air compressor youmay want to get the harbor freight 18 gauge central neumatic as an entry level to try. They're like $15 and the brads are cheap. I have 1 and 2" brads that I got at home depot. Its a cheap way to try it out and see what its about. I have one and it works well. If you find you use it a lot then maybe consider a battery powered one as stated.
Thank you for your video. I have a space between my fireplace and wall that needs something, plus I Have a bunch of books that are just laying around that I need to put up. How much weight would you say those shelves could hold? You do such great work and make it look so easy.
Hey Glen, how about using your old method with dowels? Do you think it would be ok gluing two 2x8 together to make it thicker and then just drilling the dowel holes ? Especially if the shelf is not being supported on the sides like this one?
You do amazing work my man, my wife wants me to make an arch and cut it out of plywood, can you suggest on what plywood would be beat for staining? The arch would be about 8 feet tall
Yes I would definitely need these kind of shelves in my tiny house thank you I'm still waiting I'm still here I love that you're booting out to videos God bless peace be with you much love and respect give little bit hugs and kisses or is there more to come? please? 😍😍😍😍😍
Love the shelf. Quick question I am going to do the but the walls I am working with are not square. They seem to taper towards the back. How do I figure out the cuts? tia
Another good video that I enjoyed. One thing, though, I wouldn't call these "floating." To me, a floating shelf has no visible support but rather just butts against the wall with open ends. You have end supports on these. Good looking shelves, certainly, but not "floating."
Can you do the same type off shelving but do it with a French kleat instead and still have the same support? Just wondering, thinking about doing the same design but with a French kleat instead.
I'm curious. Would like to ask you, since I am building my own house alone. I want to add exposed log style rafters to my ceiling. But I only have some 2x10s & 2x12s that aren't being used for floor joists. With very limited tools, how would I make these pieces appear to be actual log style? Ideas?

I really like your style. And you've struck the right balance between enough information, and not too much detail.
Thanks, Brian!
That wood cutting was so satisfying
You've got a good eye for design, even the staging that you do at the end of each video looks great - keep it up
Thank you lol it's a struggle for me to stage things. I just try my best.
@@DIYCreators Your best is great!
Those shelves are class great job I hate seeing shelving brackets this looks so much tidier and easier on the eye.
Those wall cleats are genius! I have put up shelves with every style of attachment but yours is my new go to!
PS, they look great too! 👍
Thanks, This style is very easy when you support on both sides.
Gorgeous. I'm an interior stylist and watching you videos gives me so many ideas. You have a great eye.
You literally have such a gift
Wow, you take such care to do it right. Maybe I should start sanding. I also really liked that you even included proper brush care. Very thorough.

This is just what I need for the bathroom.
Great idea for mounting the shelves. I love the reddish shelves against the blue wall. The entire room looks fantastic. Good job!
Excellent addition to this room! I like the method you used to affix the shelves, pretty cleaver!

Such high quality design, construction and documenting!
I'm so glad I checked this video out! I ran into a snag on my on laundry room project with shelving and dowels. I'm making a video of it on my channel. This was a life saver!! Thanks! lol
I love how they look. Nice video.
Love it, and can use oak faced plywood and a piece of oak to make even nicer shelves at a cost of course.
These are some awesome shelves and looks great in that bathroom! Nice work
Wow, that looks WAY cleaner than how I did it! Two videos in a short time, nice job!
Thank you 😃

ObjDriven Those "sellers" know too little to be of any help. You must inform yourself.
@@leonardorojas1781 well that's why I'm asking someone who knows.
@John Drake thanks for the information and your opinion.

HAHA, not the usual! I think a touch of that pecan works well! We will see if one-day projects can become a thing.
@@DIYCreators yes! Do it!!! Keep em coming!

As always,,great projects I can definitely use. Thank you
very cool project.

Love your videos Glen, thanks for doing them. Quick question, how did you stop the wood filler showing through the stain?
Awesome job 👏 😎 as usual.

You can also hide things in the space between the layers of the shelf (inside the shelf itself) (money, documents, important papers)
Yes Totally
awesome!

I would love to know how you made the counter top lol
Your house must be beautiful with all of your functional pieces
Great build, Glen! I have a question though, does using a brush like that to apply stain leave brush marks on the wood? Thank you.
Nice

What’s your opinion on epoxy countertops?
