You are the reason I got my Dmax, Graham! Work horse during the week and dirty girl on weekends! Love the set up mate! Defiantly think a tune and an exhaust to show the proper potential of the 4jj1 should be the next mod!
I hope you haven’t had any issues Bryan, I now own Graeme’s red d-max, and Izuzu won’t warrant it because it’s modified. 3 years old, 50,000km and they won’t cover any of my issues.
That's a damn tidy canopy setup and I reckon the old DMAX looks a whole heap better with it on. I'm keen as to see it out and about on your upcoming trips 🤙
First let me say I'm a huge fan of the show....I'm a Southern California guy. I've always been impressed by how well the DMAX performs, and if I didn't see it for myself I'd have a hard time believing it..Here in Southern Cal we mostly do desert type of off roading and I'm sure that's why I enjoy seeing a different type of off roading. Thanks to all the team that puts together the episodes!
What a legend. love the new canopy Graham! looks waaaayyyyyyy better than before. Really love the concept of keeping it simple, but capable with "only" 31s and rear locker.
Graham seems like such a top bloke gives the right amount of energy for this show couldn’t imagine anyone else doing it!!. The Dmax looks sick one day I hope to be able to buy and own a forby and hit the tracks I reckon it could cure depression 🤔👍👍
Yeah I have to agree with logic, its pointless really in offroad. As long as you got enough torque to lift the truck loaded you're good. Sure its cool when you got the rod rocket blasting thru the mud pits but meh, I think only 1 rod per gang is enough and perfect that way. lol
Man I was stoked to see the new upgrades. Performance wise, seems to have all the power it needs. Front locker would definitely be the next upgrade! Huge huge fan of the show. Plan to build my own soon. Keep it up!! Elgin, SC USA!!!
I live in New Zealand and absolutely love the fraser trips you guys film, I'm sure you guys love them too! Would be good to see the improved dirty 30 in a video!! And next mod/mods I'd do would be body lift and 33's better ground clearance BUT it makes life alot easier to clean everything out from between driveline and the bash plates. Absolutely love the dmax, great work!!
Not Graham, but my thoughts on a front locker with IFS are that unless you're spending big money on high end CV axles, it's too hard on parts. A quality LSD at most in the front is about all I would do for the average IFS rig. With a locker you're apt to start blowing axles apart as soon as you get bound up a bit. Better to just pull cable if you have to.
@@thethepete731 I disagree totally, and as Graham said, the rear locker is amazing when its on, I had a Rear locker only, on my 150 prado, then I added a Front locker...if the rear is amazing wait till see where u can go with the front!! twin locked, start on a uphill sand dune and crawl up...
@@jimmybombaya9571 um what? That has little to nothing to do with what I said. A locked, ifs front end will start breaking CVs if you're pushing it, and I would be shocked if that's not a major reason that Graham isn't running one. GM put a locker in the front of the zr2 Colorado, but I would bet it has strategies to help it keep from breaking parts.

@@xw0lfpack91x new zealand is pretty good for 4 wheelin, lots of public (paper roads) to explore, some places it's just asking the land owner if you can gain access in some places

Love it, For me add solar panel, secure rifle storage in canopy, head unit changed to the hema maps one, lights outside of rear canopy all sides, long range tank and water pump for the tank water.
Well, I mean, he doesn't have a lot of engine mods, some upgraded suspension and 31s, most vehicles run 33s and up, hence this, you don't need heavy duty CVs, so in terms of pure off road mods, it's just some bar work, winch, tyres (which are almost as small as stock), suspension, rear locker and that's about it, then s canopy (based on his setup) and a roof rack, that's all, no big exhaust, no big tyres, no big lift, no upgraded drive train or any of that fancy stuff

Great setup! I love the new canopy. The D-Max is almost as legendary as Shorty. As far as locations, more beach trips!!! Those are my absolute favorite.
Man I love this truck! I’m in the USA and I’m running a 2018 Toyota Tacoma for small camping trips / weekend drives. I’ve stuffed 33” (255/85r16) maxxis Bighorn MTs under her. As well as a nice by small hybrid bumper on it with a 10k winch hidden behind it. Other than that I’m stock, OEM suspension (tuned by fox and about 1” higher than stock). I’ve got a factory rear locker mated to a 6 speed manual (somewhat rare in the states). Only thing I’d change on your truck is the tire size but not much. I think the 265/75r16 is about the perfect tire for a little truck. Give you about 1” more than where your at now.
