The first sequence I have been playing for a while, but I still get the plectrum caught when I try to speed up.

The comment about learning licks is NOT for improvisation (but for studying phrasing) was so "right on", and so not appreciated by general guitar teachers and students. Wisdom yet again.

Thanks Claus. Really enjoy the way you talk about the mindset behind practicing in all your vids.. not just mindlessly showing us the patterns. That's helped me a lot in training my brain as well as my fingers. On a sidenote, ordered myself a nice PRS today.. very excited.

Congrats. PRS is top of the line. Their SE and core lines are both exceptional. imo they are the best value for money guitar you can buy. Their quality control is second to none. Their build quality is excellent and their selection of guitars is broad. People who worship fender and Gibson say prs "have no character". They say this for one of two reasons. They have not played a prs or/and they own a fender or Gibson, payed to much and can't give it to anyone that there is a better brand out there.

Besides these sequence examples of "2s" and "4s", doing "3s" sounds wonderful especially if you accent the beginning of each 3 note run. Sounds like a triplet type cascade of notes. Very pleasing to the ear I feel.

This kind of exercise is great for understanding the intervals as well as learning fingerings you like to use. I still do it to this day because it's so useful. Just pick a scale you wish to play, and like Claus said, just play 1-3 strings max. Have fun with it 🤘

I tried these sequences with arpeggios as well. Really helpful as I'm struggling to figure them out myself. Thanks for the lesson.
