Thank you for this video. I'm experiencing the same thing in my university. It has been so difficult to learn things and to be productive at home. I was thinking that Just happened to me, and I was the problem... So, your video helped me a Lot to understand that I'm not the only one, was heart warming.
Hi! I really like your videos, and it's been so inspirational for me to see an international student studying Medicine at Oxford, (cuz I heard from my teacher that they take very few internationals every year). I am applying this year as well and could you give out some advice on what do you think was the most valued part in the application, and how good should you be to apply pls? Thank you so much!!
Hi, so sorry for the late reply as I missed you comment! Thank you for the kind words! :) I can't really say which was the most valued part of the application as each part holds its own unique importance - they are assessing different skills / qualities in each part of the application. I would say that good academic grades are only the minimum requirement / the first cut (almost all applicants would have them). After you have passed the UCAS + BMAT rounds, the interviews would be an important differentiating factor, since everyone who is shortlisted has good academic grades, portfolio and high BMAT scores. An exceptionally high BMAT score may give you a slight advantage, but most tutors would make their final judgements based on the interviews (which is the final round of the application), as far as I know.
As for "how good you should be", this is really subjective and dependent on the admissions tutors assessing you application, so I can't really comment on that! You can find more information on my blog about what constitutes a "good" BMAT score (which isn't clear-cut either), and for academic grades there's a minimum requirement on the official Oxford website, but other than that, interviews etc tend to be quite subjective, so you just have to give your best at every stage. All the best! :)
I went back to university a few years ago and got a second degree and my whole degree was online; online learning for some is one of the best experiences. Especially those who are introverts and are self-motivated and self-learners will succeed in online learning! I'm sorry the experience was not the best for you.
Different circumstances work for different people, I guess! :") For me the time difference and the lack of practical classes were some of the biggest challenges, but overall I would say it was not an entirely negative experience as I learned a lot from it as well! :)
@@ZQmedicinspires Yes, I can definitely see where you're coming from, I would have felt the same way! I do hope you get back to your university soon if you aren't already and all the best in your studies! :)
