Thank you for watching. What is your experience with Jehovah's Witnesses? I am currently meeting with a local elder for the past few months. There have been moments where I could tell he was challenged by our conversations but he hasn't changed his mind on who Jesus is, yet :).

Thanks for sharing. There’s some good channels out there that are devoted to that. I hope my series here can help serve in another capacity of helping prevent people from being tricked on the Scriptures and also how to respond when JWs come to the door.
I hope your spouse will someday realize that the WTS is a false organization.

Excellent post. It would be great if Pastors today "equipped the Saints" and maybe encouraged and taught them to "rightly divide the Word of Truth" so that we can give a reason for the hope that lies within us. Unfortunately, Pastors are more concerned with a 28 minute sermon to help people feel better about themselves - church used to be a gathering of believers - now the believers are pushed to the back and it has become a place for unbelievers to gather and feel better about themselves.

Sadly the motivational sermons are the norm today. The time and place for them are within doing a whole book study. Eventually, that runs its course with any person. Some shorter, some longer, but eventually they'll recognize that they haven't gone any deeper into their faith.

You provide a lot of great information, but I'd like to offer one additional element that is foundational to the subject. The first thing for a Christian to have embedded in their mind regarding the definition of what Christianity is; it is a faith that derives ALL of it's beliefs from the Old and New Testaments, and from no other source. No discussion can get off on a solid footing without that being established. Our creed needs to be, "In matters of doctrine, I believe only what the bible teaches, and every passage in the bible that talks about that subject must support any doctrine that I will trust in."
I would offer to you that when you speak of Jesus in his state in eternity past, that you would refrain from portraying that he had a human body then. His human body began at the specific moment in time when the Holy Spirit selected one of Mary's eggs, and caused it to start to divide; and Jesus inhabited that organism in spirit.
To be a bit more specific about eternity past, God created time at the moment he began the creation of the universe. God is not bound by time, he is its Lord, he generates time.

I think they error in many ways with the Sabbath, equating Jesus with Michael the Archangel yet still God in the Trinitarian sense, and End Times/prophetical interpretation of Daniel.
Do I toss a condemned blanket over all of them? No.
I know some SDAs who don’t see Jesus that way. It ultimately comes down to asking each one individually if they believe that Jesus work on the cross and resurrection covers 100% of their salvation. If they start alluding you works they need to do, then they’ve undermined the Gospel.

Their wise crack remark to me about the trinity is generally: "Wouldn't that be some kind of a personality disorder? The word trinity is no where in the bible" Before I break out any scriptures I tell them "Yeah the word trinity is no one in the bible; that is correct! However neither are the words acquiesce or capitulate, however as concepts they are all over the place.
The Triune Nature of God In The Bible.
1 Corinthians 12:3-6 “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all” See Verse 11 to show the The Holy Spirit is a he with a will; not an impersonal force as many claim.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
2 Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen”
Romans 15:15 “That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost”
Matthew 3:16-17 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”
Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”
Luke 3: 21-22 “ Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased”
John 14:16-17 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Romans 14:17-18 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men”
1 Peter 1:1 “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied”
1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one”
John 10:30 “ I and my father are one”

@Stacey Calder, We would say the feasts in Leviticus 23 were specific to the Jews in Israel with the tabernacle and a Levitical priesthood. Notice they require priests to make sacrifices AT the tabernacle. We would say they are no longer -obligatory- since Jesus' sacrifice was the permanent fulfillment of all of those sacrifices.
That said, they are still definitely valuable to commemorate, and I DO still observe them (in the form of taking those days to read and meditate on the intent of those days, how some of them have already been fulfilled, and looking forward to the ones yet to be fulfilled).

Hi once again, i am currently studying with a witness, i really want to show him the truth but in the same time, i dont want to hurt his feelings and emotions. Why do you think i should witness to them? In the end they have faith in God, they preach and they are very kind and honest people. Dont you think that God will save them? Thanks you.

    • @JustScriptureMinistries

ivo nikolov I don’t believe they are saved no differently than Mormons, who are typically very nice in general with people.
The WTS has a very bad tract record and has covered up sexually child abuse over the years and the practices of shunning and refusal of blood transfusions have had many lives lost prematurely.
Obviously there are numerous doctrinal differences and even historical ones like Jesus dying on the cross or a tour tire stake, but ultimately if you were to ask how is a person saved is that you’re going to hear a very works based reply. The fact that it’s not by grace through faith that saves a person tells us that they are preaching a false gospel. And as Paul wrote in Galatians that those that preach a false gospel are lost.

Hey! I would suggest that you share this video with them!(or even a couple of them or the whole Just Scripture Ministries channel) I would not push it on them in a confrontational way or tell them they HAVE to watch this. I would ask them to watch it in a way that diffuses the situation and does not back them up against a wall. Something like this:
“Hey I want to ask for your help on something. I found this video (or videos or youtube channel) , it would mean a lot to me if you watched it with me and gave me your thoughts on it?”
I would also add that it is God The Holy Spirit who changes hearts and reveals the Gospel to people so I would be in prayer asking God to help them be open to watch the video and that they would listen closely and understand and believe the Truth.
Also Just Scripture Ministries thank you for you hard work God bless you Brother!!!

They are taught not to accept any materials from people, which would include suggestions of videos. But you never know and some of them just might. But if you they refuse you a couple of times is to maybe ask, “why should I accept your materials that challenge my core beliefs but you’re unwilling to do the same for me?” Again in a non confrontational way, but possibly an angle hat might trigger a thought that it’s kinda of hypocritical of them.

    Hi!
I've enjoyed quite a few of your videos. I thought it would be appropriate to take notes and chime in with some perspectives from a Jehovah's Witness. (Not trying to "argue" or "call you out" or anything.)
0:47 - Technically Charles Russell founded a specifically non-denominational Bible Student's Movement. Coming from a presbyterian background, he wanted each congregation to be independant. Rutherford decided to have a central organization and then coined the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" around 1931.
1:09, The picture's an LDS (mormon), not a JW. We don't wear nametags. But yes, people do check out (and sometimes convert to and from) different religions for different reasons. Including us.
1:34, Thank you for being fair and encouraging people to check out what "we believe we believe" rather than insisting on forming opinions about us based on what "detractors believe we believe." Very fair of you! Considering both sides of the coin is fine, of course. But some people only read the polemics.
1:40, Our primary goal is to just get people to at least have God cross their mind at least ONE more time than he would have otherwise if we weren't around. That's enough. If we can get people to read their bibles one more time (even if it's to argue against us), that'd be great! If there's anything we can help people study, awesome! Bonus if you can raise I've ever seen before and give me something to research. "You converting" isn't my business. That's between you and God. My goal is to just encourage people to study.
2:20, Before I hear your answer, how I'd respond to "Who do you say Jesus is?" I would say, he's The only-begotten Son of God, the firstborn of creation, "The Word of God" (Both in John 1:1 AND potentially in a few places in the Hebrew scriptures, such as Zechariah 1:1, where "Devar Yehovah," The Word of Jehovah seems to be the name of a messenger delivering a message from God). I would say he's my king, lord, high priest, messiah, and mediator. But I can clearly see "The Son OF God" in the bible, and do not see "God the Son" in the bible. I would say I FOLLOW Jesus in worshipping his God which is WHY I don't worship him as a God himself.
3:30, I would say he was sent BY God, and he was sent from heaven. But, I would object to the statement "God-incarnate." I agree that this is a VITAL differentiation between trinitarians and non-trinitarians. However, we disagree as to "which one is logical and biblically accurate."
    3:44, No.
3:55, Those are all important verses that I love discussing... but they should be done in context, and compared with other similarly significant scriptures.
4:11, You're correct, while we understand some of the traditional explanations for trinity traditions, we see massive and explicit biblical contradictions to each of those in the bible (and often within their own explanations). Therefore, we believe Jehovah=The Father=God. And he is distinct from Jesus=The Son=Christ/Messiah.
6:14, Again, thank you for being kind even while disagreeing. We do produce quite a bit of material. And the website is the widest-translated site on the internet. If you click on the "English" button on the top, you'll see we've got content in 1,065 languages so far, which is pretty neat.
6:52, For a few other verses supporting the Father being "The God of Jesus, I would add Micah 5:4, John 20:17, 1 Corinthians 11:3, 2 Corinthians 1:3, 1 Peter 1:3, Hebrews 1:9, Ephesians 1:15, Revelation 1:6, 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, etc. Mark 12:29 is actually another very good example, but easy to miss. Notice where the first person plural is in "ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν." "The lord is OUR God" (including himself in the group who's God God is, rather than including himself in the group of "who is the God of the group he's speaking to" It's hard to communicate susinctly in english, whereas the original Hebrew is simply and explicitly "Yehovah Eloheinu")
9:52, The NWT is fine, but if you go to the "bibles" section, you'll see we host a few others, including the KJV. The site isn't allowed to host other translations due to copyright, but we regularly use others. We DEFINITELY encourage people to read quite a few translations and when significant difference are seen: Ask "why?" I tend to use the NASB or NRSV as a default. We're -very- used to using whatever translation people prefer, although there may be some cases in some translations (looking at you, NIV!) where we might point out some questionable translations and pull out an interlinear (just as I'm sure you would for translations you would find questionable).

10:15, Yeah, we don't depict Jesus on a t-shaped cross. The bible uses the word Stouros, which COULD have been t-shaped... Or T shaped. Or I or Y or X shaped. Or just a tree. We're not trying to fixate on one shape over another, but get away from "the shape" being more important than "the life that was sacrificed." (PERSONALLY, I find it reasonable to suggest Jesus was walked to a permanent vertical pole already carrying a patibulum). I still would not revere any shape as an icon per the "No graven images" commandment, particularly a shape that happened to be in use for so long before Jesus (see tammuz)
12:42, I'd want to point out something this article did that was particularly fair: They did specify that Michael is "evidently" a name given to Jesus. That we can "consider why it's reasonable to conclude" that it's another name Jesus has. There's room for being more clear on the topic that it's NOT explicitly stated, so Michael could be a completely independant being... but they do SEEM to overlap in roles significantly. (It would be poor form to reference a video on another channel, but I've done a presentation on this topic).
13:50, I'd say the trinity was introduced in the council of Constantinople, not Nicaea.
14:13, The concept of the "bodily resurrection" is actually a VERY important topic that would be too much of a tangent for this post. But while we do disagree on some important aspects of the resurrection (and therefore his death), I would say this isn't a fair representation of what we believe.
Obviously, I'm not here to "argue" or "convert anyone," but this summary isn't sufficient to understand what we believe on that topic. So, I would encourage more research (even if you continue to disagree)... again, I have a presentation on that, but it would be poor form to link that here.
15:07, This is a very important point that no one should be made to feel overwhelmed. The whole point is to get people legitimately informed, so if we're ever going too fast or laying too much down at once PLEASE let us know and we can try to adjust the pace and focus of the conversation. The conversation is better for everyone involved the more legitimately informed everyone is!
Obviously there are other significant differences people should be aware of. 1- We believe the wages of sin is "death" and the gift of God is "life." I.e. no torment after death, but a restoration of the world and physical resurrection of the dead (i.e. the Jewish view). 2- We do indeed avoid holidays with origins we find questionable. 3- We DO believe that salvation is a free gift, not something that can be "earned." But we also believe that a person claiming faith should actively live by that faith... not to earn salvation (which is free) or avoid condemnation (which we don't believe in), but because God is worth submitting to.
    - Either way: while it's clear we disagree on some important things, I appreciate that you do so respectfully; and continue to enjoy your channel.

The Nicene Creed clearly outlines the trinity... have you read it?
      We believe in one God,
      the Father almighty,
      maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
      the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
      God from God,
      Light from Light,
      true God from true God,
      begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
      he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
      and was made human.
      He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
      he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
      He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
      His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
      He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.

@@seannews Sure, what part are you pointing out? I'd actually like to understand your perspective, so if you're looking at a different part or in a different way, let me know. But I presume you're referring to the section here:
      "...God from God,
      Light from Light,
      true God from true God,
      begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father..."
And sure, that makes some claims regarding their relationship, but I don't see any clarification of what it actually means (or why) there.
In fact, I'd say this is an important differentiation between (what I've read of) the interpretations of the council of Nicaea and Constantinople. Nicaea (325 C.E.) focused quite a lot on "the deity of Christ" and argued at length that if the Son was "begotten" of the Father, then it's natural for "kind to beget kind." For example, human kind can only beget humans. They're of the human nature/essence. Birds produce birds, of the bird essence. Thus, if the Son is begotten of the Father, he should be of the same essence as the Father, the same "God" kind.
I haven't been able to find any primary sources from Nicaea they consistently argued for a Tertullian (~200 CE) concept of trinity. A henotheistic triad of distinct God-beings, with no mention of being multiple persons of a single God-being. The earliest mention *I could find* of uniting these God-beings into three persons of a single being would be in the council of Constantinople (381 CE).
I'm familiar with a pretty wide range of trinitarian interpretations (With the most thorough explanation I could find being the Athanasian Creed (some time after 400 CE)), but some of them are a bit difficult to pin down what they're actually claiming.

It's rather ironic that on the very page that Jehovah's Witnesses use to claim that Jesus is an angel we find something that completely demolishes the entire idea. On that page they point out that the name Michael means "Who is like God?", which obviously is a rhetorical question, where the answer of course is - NO ONE.

We have the same question being asked here:

"Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?" (Exodus 15:11)

    And here:

Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings? (Psalm 89:6)

Well if Jesus is a god, or an angel, or a heavenly being, or anything else that cannot be considered to be "like" God, then what on earth is he doing being the "exact representation of God's being"?
Obviously, scripture points out that only God can be "like God".

There are multiple ways that groups take the definition of Michael to build a case in their favor. SDA do it as a positive when they claim that Jesus is Michael, who is like God therefore it proves that Michael was the pre-incarnate Jesus.

Thank you for your efforts I am new to your Chanel and enjoying it..
Two points that came to mind watching this video....
The first being God as a who.......if viewed as a who it's difficult to understand that this term is instead referring to nature. We say man or man kind and understand we are speaking not of a who but rather what. The same should apply to God but as we see God as a single entity we also take God to be a name of sorts. Yashua, the Spirit and the Father are one in intent, one in nature, just as man is one in Adam.....we all have the same Adamic nature......
What could not be said of that nature is that we are one...even within ourselves we are in conflict....
The second point was Peter answering the question of whom do you say I am.......
Peter didn't just get the correct answer it was more the means by which he came by it that stood out....... Faith
Just as the reason God is one has to do with nature we as Christians must have one nature and that one nature must be different from the Adamic nature we are born with.... I would contend that a teaching about Christ is not a change is not a new nature and is not an adoption or the power to become a child of God.....something more is required and when its received can be seen....
Faith is the mark of God on a man that indicates the change; but within the world faith has become synonymous with belief.
As such when a person believes they also think they have faith, are Christian, and saved..... Faith does bring about belief, but of a different sort than we achieve by intellectual practices.
Scripture says of it that its in the heart/spirit.....a normally, Adamicly speaking, dead thing....
I would say that all those with faith believe, but not all that believe have faith. Basically a person with faith has encountered God personally in a manner by which the gift of faith has been received...the change in that person results in an ongoing relationship with God.....they are taught, chastened, loved, supported, and more.....
All to often those that believe stop short thinking that by singing, reading scripture, doing what they see as good in the world, they are His children.
Belief as James says is good but even the demons do more; they know enough to fear God. If belief leads to repentance and that to seeking God and that to an encounter and that to faith then a child is born a soul is saved, but if that belief leads to confidence that is misplaced then the church has failed.....
Scripture is specific as to the role of faith its presence, where and how we come by it......
Thank you for this opportunity......not every Chanel allows comments.

Jude 1:22-23 Have mercy on those who doubt. Save some by snatching them from the fire. Fearing God, have mercy on some, hating even the clothing contaminated by their sinful urges.

Too many are hugging the line and the mirror the world versus taking the seriousness that being visibly distinct/different from the world. It’s basically putting a basket over your lamp.

If the Holy Spirit's a person in the Godhead how come Paul never mentions it in any of the introductions of his letters

See Parts 17-20 in the series
      Part 19 is Paul’s descriptions.

The list there shows that your argument from silence doesn’t hold up.
Plus Peter used it in his opening.

God does many things through the power of His Spirit. Mary was empregnated by the Holy Spirit but it wasn't considered Mary's husband or Jesus Father

No, JWs are no more Christian than Roman Catholics or Mormons. To be a biblical Christian you must be born of God John 1:13 and no one can give himself a new birth, this is given to only those that God has chosen to save out of the human race.
