To help you decide what’s the best for your bundle of joy, Nina Spears, co-founder and CEO of the parenting website Baby Chick, shares infant formula basics and how to make formula on the go.

Ingredients to Avoid in Baby Formula
Baby formulas must include the ingredients above, but what else is included in their composition depends on the manufacturer’s formulation. In some cases, there may actually be harmful ingredients in the baby formula that don’t stand out right away. The best way to get a sense of what’s in baby formulas is to compare the ingredient labels of multiple brands.
Here are a few common commercial harmful baby formula ingredients that you may want to avoid:
Corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, and other added sugars, as these may contribute unnecessary sweeteners to your baby’s diet.
Added DHA and ARA, as these are commonly processed using hexane solvents, a neurotoxin, and are not necessarily beneficial in this scenario.
Palm oil, which is highly destructive to the environment and may inhibit calcium absorption in infants.
Carrageenan is a thickener derived from seaweed that, while generally recognized as safe (GRAS), may cause intestinal inflammation as demonstrated in some animal studies.
Heavy metals and pesticides, which are not listed on the label, should also be avoided. But, you can minimize your exposure by choosing products that have been independently tested for these contaminants.
Hormones and antibiotics, which may be present in dairy-based baby formula as a result of animal agriculture practices.
Artificial, synthetic flavors, or colorings, may increase the likelihood of hypersensitivity and behavioral disorders.
Baby formula is heavily regulated.
But maybe some good tips to help make paranoid moms even more paranoid.

The bottle is convenient if the baby takes the bottle. We bought three kind before he chose the one he like.

If your baby will drink at room temp do that ! It will make life a lot easier

But now we’re finding out the plastic is leaching all kinds of stuff out especially when it’s microwaved and when it’s shaken, the particles of plastic are like a scale inside the bottle and come off into the milk, you’re feeding your baby
Can i use room temperature distilled or nursery water to make the powdered similac formula without boiling the water. Never thought of boiling before cause my baby is too impatient when she is hungry lol.

We have been using the ready to feed Enfamil gentlease 2oz bottles for 5 weeks now for our newborn and I'll tell ya what, I'll go sell BOTH of my kidneys to afford this stuff!! It's that good and WAY convenient.

I wish you would use organic formula for your baby 😣. Can I please recommend a brand to you. Enfamil and similac are both owned by Big pharma and have so many toxins, metals, arsenic, palm oil and high fructose corn syrup in their formula. It’s not organic at all. The ‘vitamins’ are all artificially made. The commercials are so misleading. 😞
I can recommend a really good brand that is affordable as well. Less expensive that the ones that are mass produced. And is all organic!

Instead of spending a fortune on these bottles, you can buy a little round container that has dividers to put your formula into and then you just pour it into your regular bottle as needed. I’m sure that would be way less expensive than buying these fancy bottles and way less complicated to wash these constantly.

Very important: please read the ingredients in the formula.
1. Do not pick those with added Corn Syrup or Sugar. Pick the ones with the natural sweetener which is Lactose.
2. Do not pick those with bad oils like Palm Oil or Soy Oil.

I use kabrita for my baby when no other formula even nutremagin and elecare didn't work. Even breastmilk bothered her. Kabrita was a life saver. And decent ingredients too
My baby 8s also allergic to oatmeal and rice they break her out badly. She is allergic to alot. But today I bought gerber gentle pro and so far she is doing okay on it. We have 32 Oz cans of kabrita but we're keeping her on formula until 2 well the kabrita she will have until 3 bc it goes until age 3. She is 11 months and is in some 3 to 6 and 6 to 9 month clothes and a size 2 diaper. So she is tiny

Some mothers cant use their natural milk because they may be taking medication that interferes with breast milk.
