if you want to see more paintings on the wall you should go to Penang, I'm sure you won't regret & love it...most importantly you need to stay longer in Malaysia at least for 4-6 months for you to visit the 14 states that are available in Malaysia

Those indians guys they sold you what looks like kuih lapis and pulut bakar its normally associated with Malay desserts (kuih) but Malaysia is multicultural adopting all cultures. The indians have their own traditional desserts like indian halvas ( made with sugar milk and ghee , flavored with nuts, rose water or pistachios etc) which is very sweet if you prefer. If you like roti you must try roti canai its the most popular roti in Malaysia ( generally breakfast item but can be had all day and night). Roti Bom is derived from it. Roti canai is normally savory. Roti Tissue would be sweet and also roti pisang (bananas) also sweet.

@@dreamsbecomewings Malay and chinese kuih are usually focused on flavor and texture rather than sweetness. That said there are few very sweet desserts they do exist and on the east coast those same kuih has more sugar it's the preference of the region. Also Chinese bakeries and patiserries often have the sweet stuff and pastries filled with pandan, lotus seed paste, kaya or mung bean or red bean paste in flaky crust pastry they also sell western desserts very yumm.
