  • I'm definitely going to continue practicing with this, climbing was really fun and made for a unique workout. Worked very well.

    Fun video man, love it. That was the first grappling hook I bought when I was about 13 lol, that thing lasted over a decade. I eventually took it apart and only used 2 hooks bc it was lighter and quieter like that, and worked just as well.
    These days I use the TRG Grabber, it’s much higher quality and is worth the money. If you’re still into this stuff check it out.
    Also I’ve got a 3 part series on my channel on stealth climbing - using grappling hooks, rope, harnesses, free climbing, all sorts of different techniques and methods from historical ninjutsu and modern things, ideas I’ve invented etc. Might be right up your alley. Thanks for the great content 👍

    When placing your next foot onto a knot, you can release the previous foot by rubbing it onto the back of the Tabi that is now in position.

    I think the spring goes on top of the hooks so you can thread the top hook all the way

    You need to use your lapels gi (kimono) to the other side, becouse that way (rigth over left) means dead in japan, they only use that way the day of his dead, and they use left over rigth every day

    Cool I wonder how its like descending out of a three story window with one of these, to practise escaping a fire without using the stair case.

    You should just use a kunai to throw the rope over the tree or limb then climb using a swiss seat and prussic knots. Just a thought

  • @ethanellis4582
    @ethanellis4582 4 года назад +1

    If you throw it underhand so that it is moving upward ls instead of downwards when it is in front of you it will be much easier to get it to land where you want it.

    Can you show me the end of the rope at the other side? Could i thread a magnet and tie it on?

    • @JuardianK
      @JuardianK  5 лет назад

      It just comes as a normal 30 foot rope, nothing special on the end. I did all the knots and tying myself. It's decently thick so I'd say it depends on the exact magnet you're trying to put on.

    Instead of using the split toe in your tabi, climb it like a regular rope with both feet pinned against the knots, it will be harder but it will work, the tabi just get stuck in the rope and originally shinobi neber wore tabi, they wore usually straw sandals just like regular old samurai, one more fun fact, they were never warriors, they were only used for reconnaissance and assasination like poisioning a leader of a clan or using a deadly trap on them, that soumds obvious but actually ninja were regular samurai so they did also train in martial arts and taijutsu never existed (that stuff they do with the older guy in the purple hair and the huge Ninjutsu Dojo on RUclips is not legitimate), the most they would probably do is sneak up you and if guards were alerted they definetly ran and used other tools to help them escape.

      You're preaching to the choir my friend. I've read the translated versions of the Bansenshukai, Shinobi Hiden, and Shoninki. Historical ninjutsu is my thing, I just like the fake ninja aesthetic so I do this stuff for fun. I have climbed the way you described and it works well. I just wanted to see how it was climbing with the knots in the tabi boots.
      Always makes me happy when somebody acknowledges that Hatsumi(purple hair man) is a fraud. As far as I know he still claims that he has legit ninja scrolls verifying some of his techniques, yet he refuses to show anybody haha. Anyway glad you liked the vid, always cool to have more viewers from the historical ninjutsu community.
