Loved this and all these “Behind The Scenes” clips!! I watched The Wire when it first came out, and 3 more times since then. It is the most comprehensive and authentic TV series about an American city and its inhabitants and institutions. An intelligent, complex urban saga at its best. Doesn’t pander to or spoon-feed its audience. Sophisticated and thoughtful writing, complex stories, original characters (e.g., Omar and Bro. Muzon - sp?), excellent acting, and memorable scenes throughout each and every season. All 5 seasons rocked and were their own critical chapter in this social commentary of a show. It required your attention and your intellect. It made you feel, it made you think. The Wire wasn’t just one thing, it’s everything, and it’s done brilliantly!
Season 4 is so next-level brilliant, I can see how S5 could seem underwhelming in comparison. I still thought it did a worthwhile job of tying off all the series' loose ends, and was plenty entertaining in its own right.
@@cftvdata season 5 the best season joe gets killed, omar, snoop, butchie, savino and all the crew gets locked up season 5 was action packed it just was the end so nobody going to like their fate and our fate was watching nothing happen to Marlo
@@positivevibesandmorelife7307 That's right. Personally I still haven't got over how the story writers couldn't save Duquan, give him a foster home, let him go to college. Still hurts. Not to mention Omar' senseless death (will it have killed them to let everyone's favourite character go back to the seemingly beach paradise he had fled to?). Other than that, it was a fine season. Hysterically funny too at times, with all the serial killer business; in fact I'd never laughed this much watching The Wire. All in all, a nice wrap up of the series.
@Gudheinz You can evacuate people... If you gave them a laxative. In the dictionary definition of the word The Wire is correct, but language changes all the time so the saying of evacuating people (from a building) is fine really.
The Issue w/ me with the Wire's last Season, is not the emphasis on the Newspaper Industry, But you can tell the whole vibe of the Season is basically "Okay, lets Wrap this up" and half asses it in the writing department. You can tell they are trying to tie up as many loose ends as possible, and it being only 10 Episode, looks rushed. And some of the Realism the show is famous for loses it in some aspects (Omar being out of character gunning after Marlo's crew on one leg in broad daylight, the whole "Fake Murders" subplot etc.) The thing is the show told the grim future about the Newspaper industry very accuractly, plus there was still some great "Wire" Moments peppered in here and there. But definitely the weakest of the 5 Seasons
Am I the only one who liked McNulty's scheme? Especially the scene in which Lester gets totally into it, much to Bunks horror. BTW is it really true, that you can't "evacuate people"?
@jonb3917 I thought it was compelling, it totally rips the media a new one. I hated the McNulty plot with the serial killer because it made me hate mcnulty.
i seriously love the wire..but i honestly didnt like season 5 ..i find the other 4 seasons were great! IF they come back with a 6th season which i doubt..i hope they go back to the previous ways..

Goddamn Chris sounds different when he's not acting.
Carcetti AKA Aiden Gillen's Irish accent threw me off!
some of the english accents on the actors real voice is just shockingly different to the show
RIP Reg E. Cathey
Seemed like the real life person was the same person playing the mayor’s top aide.
3:01 I was watching this episode last night, and I was like "WOOOAHH That has to be Kevin Durant.
the real Gbenga is so cute!
I didn't think S5 was as bad as many made it out to be.

THE WIRES THE BEST T.V. SHOW IN THE NATION.

The ONLY thing wrong with The Wire was season 5 being 3 episodes too short.
Lol Carcetti's accent
this fucking series is so ahead of it's time and the fucking news are still fucked.

Nah. That over the top scheme went against the realism of The Wire.
Does anyone know about the song that plays after 6:21 ?? I'm curious as hell, would appreciate if anyone knew!
Sometimes you got to be hated to get things done ey.
@jonb3917 I thought it was compelling, it totally rips the media a new one. I hated the McNulty plot with the serial killer because it made me hate mcnulty.
Exactly right. McNulty, as misguided as he was, had the right intentions.
Your comment is the truth.
I personally hated the whole story of the newsroom and the press in season 5. I thought it was boring

This guy is kind of affirming the reason I don't read Slate
I fast-forwarded every time the news people or Mayor were on-screen during this season.
*facepalm*
McNulty is the shit :P
Drunk moron whahahah
Every character got his/ her thing.
i like snoop, she cracks me up :P
my god this Jami Floyd is annoying.
the newsroom? worst season of the wire without a doubt. Bc the news is complete garbage today. Mainly bc they are failing and the people lack talent.
