3:28 not only do they know nothing about other Yakuza games. It's actually an AI listen to that. That's a robot voice. There's no way a human made this video
Yakuza games are closer to a mix between 3D brawlers and action RPGs. They also tend to be fairly easy and u can choose different difficulties ranging from easy to hard (There's also a legendary mode that's usually only playable after beating the game once). A lot of ppl find that the combat gets stale or is mostly a button masher simply because the games never really challenge u to learn the intricacies of their combat systems. It's up to u if u want to experiment. Worst case scenario u can usually just grind to be stronger than whatever challenge u face (Dunno if u can do that in this game).
I know it sounds weird, but if you've seen Devil may cry 5, it is kinda similar to that in terms of gameplay. In 3 of the Yakuza games, technically 5, you have different fighting styles you can use that are usually better at doing something than the others. For example, in Yakuza 0, the first main character has the brawler style, rush style, and beast style. Brawler is really good for a couple enemies and for using counters, rush style is best for enemies with small windows of vulnerability or if you need to escape and dodge quickly away from enemies. Beast is best for a big group of enemies and is best used when there are weapons in the area. Each fighting style has a lot of depth and can be upgraded a lot and through upgrades you can increase speed and opportunities for switching styles mid animation so you can get pretty creative with combining moves from different styles together. - It is a 3d action story based fighting game semi-similar to SIFU, and you have this meter in all the games called the heat bar, which allow you to do special moves called heat actions which are just cutscene brutal attack moves, sometimes with qte's like smashing a dudes face with a car door, stabbing someone, pouring boiling water on someone, bashing their head against the ground, etc. In some games it may also allow you to do special inputs to do specific actions only available when you have enough of the heat bar and sometimes may give you a rage type transformation. Difficulty-wise, the games typically aren't difficult except for 1 or 2, and I would typically play them again on a harder difficulty, while also limiting how many healing items I can bring with me and limiting what styles I can use and if I can upgrade them or not, to actually make the game challenging and intense while also being really satisfying, because unlike a soulslike that has artificial difficulty with enemies that either have hard to dodge attacks or do stupid damage for no reason, these games are way more fair and feels more like user error than the game just being op.
No, they’re not as hard as soulslike games, especially not the newer entries in the series. Some of the older entries have a few frustrating mechanics like boss healing in Yakuza Kiwami 1 and constant blocking in Yakuza 3, but I still wouldn’t consider them hard games on normal difficulty. There is a challenging superboss you unlock in these games but he’s optional.
Never got into the yakuza series. The ones I played felt like Adam West's Batman to The Dark Knight's Sleeping Dogs. Now THAT is a game I would live to see a remake and/or sequel for.

I’ll wait until the game goes to $20 these all play the same I’m
sure it will be on game pass
3:28 not only do they know nothing about other Yakuza games. It's actually an AI listen to that. That's a robot voice. There's no way a human made this video
Wow I actually didn't get no hate for saying that color me shocked I used to always get hate when I talk about Yakuza
Gamepass unless they give us an option to turn off all that dbz bs
Nah, when another Like a Dragon game comes out the "before you buy" thing is irrelevant.
There is no “Before you buy” !!!
It’s Ryu Ga Gotoku so just buy it!!!! Buy it nowwwww and put the cookie down!!!!! Nowww!!
Finally: Yakuza: Ishin instead of Yakuza: Yakuza.
it has always been ironic as Kiryu has never been a yakuza member in game xD
just ex-yakuza xD
SHIN SEN GUMI
Does anyone know if there is an Upgrade path for the original japanese copy for ps4? Ive had it for years.
No because this game was remade from the ground up. Its not a simple graphical upgrade.
It's a remake not a remaster, so I wouldn't assume so
As somebody who never played yakuza is ishin in the other games
Ishin is an adaptation of events in the Bakumatsu era of the Edo period.
I love when these videos Papa watch people get mad I don't like the Yakuza series people get so pissed off when I say that LOL I don't care
I just don't understand why even bother watching a video about something you don't like
I'm not familiar with these type of games. Are they soulslike (which means insanely difficult, not casual friendly)?
Now I’m buying this, I was scared it was gonna be a turn based rpg
Give it a year, it'll end up on Game Pass.
Never got into the yakuza series. The ones I played felt like Adam West's Batman to The Dark Knight's Sleeping Dogs. Now THAT is a game I would live to see a remake and/or sequel for.
Yukooza
There is no before. You just buy! 😈
Things To Know Before You Buy : This is not a Kiryu.
Liked the turn based stuff best from like a dragon wish this had that again
that combat system is specific for Ichiban as protagonist and will return in Like a Dragon 8
