In Greek, we also have a word similar to covidiot. In Greek, idiot is ηλίθιος (prnounced “Ilithios”) and Coronavirus is Κορονονοιός,pronounced “Coronoios”. Therefore, we say, “Κορονοηλίθιος” pronounced “Coronoilithios.”
That's so interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Thankyou for this video. It really lifted my spirits. Stay safe

"Nothing burger" I think it's the best one ;-)
It's a fun phrase, indeed. Example: Unfortunately COVID-19 is not a nothing burger.
@@SimpleEnglishVideos I know that you need to follow the youtube code.
Would you tell me you know any pandemic in the animal world or insect world? No, no animal virus can infect human,
Species barrier is impossible to overcome. No virus from a laboratory can infect humans. Our technology is away limited, genetic sequencing will lose the capacity to reproduce. Please trust nature, not the government!
I quote an extract of an article for the scientific explanation:
Mostly, these disease-causing agents stick to one host species. And many barriers stand between each of us and that previously unknown infection hosted by an unfamiliar animal.Once inside your body, a virus still must overcome barriers. If the virus evades your immune system, it next needs to breach the membrane of a cell, which is protected by receptors that only allow interactions with certain substances.
Human beings and most rodents are not susceptible to infection with Escherichia coli type 1, responsible for diarrhea in rabbits, because only rabbit intestinal cells possess the specific receptor for this bacterium [Cheney et al., 1980]. By the same mechanism, certain breeds of piglets are resistant to infection with Escherichia coli K88, which can infect most pigs, because they lack the specific cellular receptor for this strain of bacterium [Selwood et al., 1975].Cell penetration can occur only if there is mutual recognition between cells and the pathogen. Such recognition, which is a vital step in the multiplication of an intracellular pathogen, depends on the existence of appropriate complementary molecules (and ligands) within the host.
I guess you know already that very many doctors and scientists in the world are taking courage to say there's no pandemic, medical workers are dancing and singing. I'll put A link here, just in case.
Pls, stay healthy, stay outside!

Hi Nicolas. Thank you too for watching! :-)
Good morning! Vicki and Jay! (It's 1a.m. in Russia, so I think it's morning in the USA).
Glad to see you safe and sound! (Now its not just some polite words, it's much more about feelings, the words are getting really more meaningful than used to be). Thanks a lot for some explanations. As I understood, this year gave some unpredictabe opportunities to learn more about ourselves, our partners and the world around. In different parts of the world we come across the same problems.(It was the first time, I've dyed my hair and my husband has cut my fringe. Both are satiafied with result). Thanks for new words! They are really beneficial.
P.S I would be graeful, if you record a video about different ways of looking and walking( maybe some other verbs, helpful for multiple choice) and everyday life.
Thanks for the suggestions, Swed. It sounds like you and your husband are doing well. Be safe.
Hmm interesting
I just learned some new words
Glad we could help, Karina.
Hey please stay safe!your videos really help!😁

Love watching your videos. They’re very helpful. I studied English at the University and I was watching your videos then ( they helped me sooo much). To be honest, I still watch them regularly. Stay safe guys from England

coved 19 pr ye quiz aacha h bhai
Great stuff! I'll be having a grandcoronial in October! (my third grandchild is due then).
Oh that's wonderful! Many congratulations!
Hello! I have a question. What is the difference between people and folks?
There’s really very little difference, مروان أشرف . Folks is a little less formal than people but they are interchangeable. If we want to sound relaxed and informal we’ll say folks. “Lot of folks are having a rough time in quarantine.” Or “Many people consider quarantine to be a difficult situation.” I hope that helps.
This is so wholesome
:-)
Simple English Videos : )
Oh I like it
That's great. Thanks Dung.
Fattening a lot !!!
Ha! Us too Johnatas. :-)
How can we sound our vocabulary?
Would u mind recommending some good websites for that.
Hi Akbar. Our friend Rachel has a great pronunciation channels for American English. Look for 'Rachel's English'.
Hello! Is it correct to use these contractions during speaking in job interview (gonna , wanna ,lemme , gimme , dunno , gotta , outta , etc)?
No, because it is not formal. مروان أشرف
My knee-jerk sense as a native speaker is no, but at the same time, avoiding them can sound stilted and unnatural, so my advice to you is to go with what you feel most comfortable with. If you aren't comfortable using them, don't use them. If you are, when you use them, do so with extreme moderation and remember that you aren't necessarily talking with friends but with an employer and you're attempting to make your best impression. Since those words are features of my dialect (I speak Michigander with a twist of AAVE and Appalachian), I use them so frequently I don't even notice I do. They're a bit like "aux" and "du" in French or "do/da" in Portuguese. But that's not true everywhere. My best advice? Watch videos of mock job interviews and listen to how they converse, the words they use, and the like. And then see if you can do something similar.
One place you should NEVER use them is written formal communication - especially on your resume or cover letter, or in inter-office emails. Never, never, never. Never. You also don't use them on formal college essays, formal documents like letters to government officials, etc. In fact, you shouldn't use ANY contractions at all in those documents - including words like "shouldn't," "couldn't," "can't," "won't," etc.
If you want to replace them, or some advice on how to use, mine is as follows:
Gonna - "going to" works, but sometimes context demands a stronger verb with a slightly different meaning. "I plan to go to NYC over the summer" rather than "I'm gonna go to NYC over the summer." It's worth noting that saying "I plan to" shows that you aren't committed yet, but "I'm gonna" shows you are, so it's a matter of nuance. Noting that you have plans is useful in a job interview; that's why you say "I plan to get a position as a supervisor" rather than "I'm gonna get a position as a supervisor." However, if you're going to get your bag, it's fine to say, "I'm gonna get my bag; I'll be right back."
Wanna - "want to" works just fine, but "would like [to]" or even "trying to" can sometimes work. "I wanna get a job as a manager" vs. "I would like to get a job as manager" or "I'm trying to get a job as manager."
Lemme - "let me" isn't a great phrase; "let" is a weak verb. "Allow" is a much better one. "Allow me to hold the door open" rather than "Lemme hold the door open." Keep in mind, though, that "let" is still a real common verb, and just because it's weak that doesn't mean people don't use it on a regular basis, myself included. In formal situations, it's probably one you want to avoid.
Gimme - Remember what I said about how you can use contractions in interviews? Not this one. In English, "Gimme" is a command and it can come across as rude and pushy; avoid it and avoid "give me." Rather, us something like "can I have" or "may I have".
Dunno - "I don't know" is fine; "I'm not sure" is also one that gets used.
Gotta - "got to" isn't a great sentence for formal situations. "I have to" is much better.
Outta - "out of" works fine; "my pen is out of ink, can I borrow yours?"
It comes down to where you're at and how comfortable you are with the language, ultimately. If you aren't comfortable with it or you don't really understand the finer nuances of how to use the words, don't use them. If you do, moderation is key but don't go out of your way to do use them, and be mindful of what they mean.
Hope that helps, and good luck any job interview.
Good answers here. Thanks for helping out guys.
