    Any LOVE for the GAP Test part of the video, do you find it useful, is there any point adding it in or shall I dump it to reduce the length of the videos? 👍

      Gap test if the clubs head are available, but if you don't have it for most of the clubs you are testing, it doesn't really add much to the comparison to other irons.

      Gap test is a good addition. Gives more value for just a few minutes more. Well done!

      @paulbedder889 maybe just a few minutes more on the video, but I was hoping to get more positive feedback from the inclusion, for the considerable extra swing work and also editing work, I'm not sure I'll be doing much more of it going forward 🤷🤦👍🏻👍🏻

    I watch a lot of reviews and this is one of the best I’ve viewed. Extremely objective and very informative/honest. Now subscribed. I tried the 241’s today and loved them and was surprised at the level of forgiveness. Having said that, I noted your comment around the lower lofted clubs and am now likely to blend with 243’s and possibly even 245’s right at the top end. Excellent video. Thank you.

      Hi Mark, thank you for the very kind feedback 👍🏻 I try and give as much information as possible to allow golfers to make a more informed choice during their purchases. I know it's not the cinematic music filled speilberg production that some other channels choose and my channel won't suit some viewers wants from content, so it's very much appreciated to receive this kind of feedback 👍🏻

    The gap test is a big value add for anyone seriously interested in the clubs. I really appreciated the video and as a 221 player I wish there were more reviews like this. Virtually everything you read or see about blades these days is a hit piece. These clubs look amazing and I hope to get a chance to hit them soon.

    Agree totally on missing the chrome. Chrome blades stay looking new and smart even when dinked. Matt clubs look shocking after a year or two, just look at any second hand MP 18.

      I guess time will defo tell on that one, but I agree. The lack of sun reflection is absolutely a consideration but on the whole i prefer the chrome 🙂

      @@AskGolfNutI’d be interested if you ever thought about doing a review of the stock shafts Mizuno use on their various iron sets. I’m always intrigued as to why they would put a specific shaft with a specific club e.g. Modus 120 on JPX 921 forged, KBS $ taper on this latest MP. I know they will fit you for any shaft but I’d be interested to know why they pick certain shafts e.g. how come they have ditched dynamic gold in the recent blades as main stock.

      @@AskGolfNut My 4 iron turned into a 7-wood magically. I am debating if I want to try to fit in a 5 and 6 iron of a more forgiving club like the 243 or 245 or if I want to shell at the money and just get a complete set.

    I like the gap section of your videos. I would love to see a video on blending the 241/243/245 set. I’m thinking about blending a set of 245 and 241. Would that be a mistake? Should it be 243/245? Currently playing all blades and with age and less playing time, I know I need to make a change but would like to keep blade like feel for my low irons. 9 or 8 to GW. Thank you!!

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  6 месяцев назад

      Not at all you can quite easily blend them, but experience says the best way I have found is to have 2 say 7 irons for example as the loft of the 245s are 1 club stronger than the 241s. Remember to order the 245s though 1/2 inch longer to stagger the shaft lengths properly and also order the 245 heads 1 degree flatter than the 241s to keep the lie angles consistent and fluid 👍🏻

    What shafts did you test? I am currently playing the JPX921 Tour with the KBS stiff and am considering the 241, 243 or a combo of both. My 7 iron averages 169 carry, club speed 89 and 6352 spin on Trackman. Would you recommend moving up to x-stiff?

    • @AskGolfNut

      I'd suggest to go for a fitting on the Swing DNA and see what bend profile you come out with and then tweak the choice depending on your feel requirements 👍🏻👍🏻

    Jay what are reasonable tolerances for impact location to aim for when practicing with a launch monitor? Goal is scratch.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  7 месяцев назад

      Definitely on a 241, single digit misses with reasonably only maximum 5mm high, can go 9mm low but verticals are more important that horizontally. You can get away with just over single digit millimeter misses horizontally, less so low on the face and very much so less high, basically try and stay away from anything high on the face 👍🏻

    For consistent distance, go for this or ping i230?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  21 день назад

      Definitely, they are consistent for sure. There are also other options out there that provide same to similar consistency. Although generally tend to be the supposedly harder to hit options... 👍🏻

    I totally agree with you Jay. I've been playing Mizuno blades for over 20 years and I expect blades to be finished in chrome. The satin finish on a blade is just wrong on all levels.

    Loved MP69s. Then MP5, loved them. Then i was convinced that a 65 year old swining at 78 mph cant play a balde.
    But what im offered has not loft, and not much spin.
    Can i play this? Or must i expect a JPX 923 HM HL?
    Help!!please!!

    • @lkae4
      @lkae4 7 месяцев назад

      Complete opposites. 241 are probably for 3 index and better. HL are for 33 index and better. There's probably something good for you in the middle. Good luck.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  7 месяцев назад

      At 78 mph you are right on the cusp on the change. Due to your age and the unfortunate nature of how the continued passing of time takes on our golfing bodies, swing speed is generally only going one way which is slightly slower over time. For that reason I would say that going to something like the HL is going to give you as many flight benefits as possible, just wont give you the looks benefit. 👍👍

    Would love to see the shot at 7:50 compared with the same strike using the 243 and 245. I've always thought that while there is some additional loss when using a blade it was more of a feel thing than anything else. A poor strike with any club is going to not perform great. The more forgiving clubs just mask the feel compared to a blade.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  7 месяцев назад +1

      The efficiency would have been better, now how much that transfers into extra forgiveness distance is debatable but it does make a certain difference..... But..... The forged irons do feel massively better and does give superior feedback from off centre hits 👍

      Thank you very much for fast reply. I was hoping you would reply fast enough so I can pull the trigger on getting one or the other . I do know with blades there’s not really a big difference feel wise one only will feel better than the other if you truly hit the perfect sweet spot , and if you do hit the perfect sweet spot with both is pretty much the same feel so I’m gonna go with the prior model than the new .save me 20 bucks lol I just want a 7 or 6 iron just too play and kop a feel ….im a players distance iron type of guy and I had a cobra blade that I really liked and sold it so I’m gonna do the Mizuno and when I wanna kop a blade feel I’ll just bring it out too the range or pull it out on a 7 or 6 iron shot on the course if I’m feeling lucky haha .i appreciate you fam! Thanks
