@nathanlong-wade7176 I think I paid around £1400 for mine in September so they'll be in the bag for the foreseeable future... just going to avoid all the 245 reviews 😂
Definitely a good and honest opinion on the new Mizuno's. I quit playing for 15 years. I played the tzoid Comp Ez's. Then moved to the Mp33s. Though being a lot older now. I figured id better get into a modern iron set. Jpx 923 pros. A little more distance about 10 or so yards more. You have a good understanding of clubs. Great video.
I'm about 12 and the 243s are the best clubs I've ever played. Feel and sound are incredible, forgiving for a players cavity and there's still feedback. Wraparound sole is great for diggers. I've been testing irons for two years. I'm done. Until my swing drops off and get the replacement model with lighter shafts, hah.
I gamed the 245 this whole year and they are amazing. However I’m down to a 4 handicap now and just got the 243 and they are way better from a feel and consistency perspective
realy great review trying to decide weather to buy the 245 jus love how they look and we all know how importent looks are just getting a little older now not realy sure if they would be the right choice suppose will have to go and try and find some one local so i can try them
Great video! It would be interesting to know how the 245 launches vs the 243. The 7i sporting 30deg of loft, that is essentially a 6i in some cases (or a 7.5) - so it will naturally be longer. But if you can get enough height on the ball - then decent angle might help in stopping them on the green.
I hope you still stick with mp20. I wouldn't change a thing. The mp20 are incredible irons. The only way I would upgrade is if they got damaged or wear out by overuse.
Amazing review! Not sure if you also tried the new Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi but wondering which one would be more forgiven and longer in a 4 iron between the Fli-Hi and the 245.
I have 245's lovely irons. You are definately getting some help with them, but i would not call them game improvement irons. High handicaps would do better to look elsewhere.
Hi, great review. I currently game MP 20 blades (scratch) but in my 50's so looking for a bit more distance and forgiveness, really like the look of the 245's as they still look like my blades, however you're saying they are for higher handicap players, do you not think they would suit lower handicappers?
@@Fitter4life for me, out of say 10 shots hitting 175 average with 7 iron I was getting 1/2 hotshots that come out at 190s! (This was probably down to the user not the irons) but If you’re trying to hold greens at that distance then get a hot shot, you’re sailing the green. Hope it’s not the same for you buddy 🙌🏻
@@RootEzroo well to be fair it’s not about the distance not holding greens. It’s your spin numbers and landing angle. I can carry my 7 stock about 185 and as long as I have that baby up over 100 feet in the air and a steep landing angle I’m holding the greens on a dime. Maybe switch up your ball. Just my 2 cents. Hope that helps
Would you say the 245's are too strong. I play the mp18's atm, and hitting the 7 iron about 160/165. Worries that they will be a bit harder to control. 9hc!
The 245’s are 4 degrees stronger than the mp18mc’s , so they are exactly 1 club stronger. You would hit an mp245 pitching wedge, the exact same distance as an mp18 , 9 iron ….
At first glance, the idea of a 6i-PW in the 241 and 4i-5i in the 245 seems really appealing, but the 4-degree difference in loft seems like it would make it difficult to mix them in a set.
"It's bounced on the green... and pissed off" Ahh classic winter golf over here 😂 Love the look of all of these, currently gaming JPX 919 Tours but definitely considering those 243s!
You could have them bent a degree or 2 weak. I agree that lofts could be a little weaker more to the likes of T100. But I understand why they went a little strong.
New irons every year because they are nowhere near the quality of irons from 30 years ago. These days irons look 20 years old after 18 months which when you’re paying such a ridiculous price is piss poor
Have you ever tried the very small outlay of iron covers? My MP18's look pretty damn good still. If you're going to drop £1000+ on irons head covers must be a must surely?
As a Mizuno Pro 225 owner... it crushed me when you said the 245 is a big upgrade 😂😂
Same 😂

I love my 225s. Can’t see myself upgrading
Haha sorry mate!
@@thegolfsupply it's alright- I'll just get the 265s when they come out... I'm sure they'll be a massive upgrade on the 245s 😉

Great review Ash the 245’s look incredible for a mid-high handicap 👌🏻
It really is!
@@thegolfsupply just checked out the price 😩😂😂
Great review. After new irons and as a 14 handicaper need to try the 245s and 243s in the shop I think.
Yeah for sure

Interesting opinion about the 243s, almost all other RUclips reviews say that is the iron that has advanced the most out of the three
I couldn’t really tell them apart if I’m honest bro
Im definitely interested in the mizuno 245. Especially now they come in left handed 🙂
I gamed the 245 this whole year and they are amazing. However I’m down to a 4 handicap now and just got the 243 and they are way better from a feel and consistency perspective
Great vid - love the editing also!
Much appreciated!

They are super clubs
I hit the 243s and was impressed!
Really good

Great suggestion!
I was gaming the 245 and I never once have had an issue with stopping them on greens. I’ve hit 5 and 6 iron into many green and they stop on a dime
Should I still stick with my MP-20’s? I just don’t like the 241 being satin, I love the chrome look lol
I hope you still stick with mp20. I wouldn't change a thing. The mp20 are incredible irons. The only way I would upgrade is if they got damaged or wear out by overuse.
Good video and the irons look amazing. When is the release date to the uk
End of Feb I think mate
Amazing review! Not sure if you also tried the new Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi but wondering which one would be more forgiven and longer in a 4 iron between the Fli-Hi and the 245.
Erm would be close

Great ball striker but, try as I might, I could find no ‘24free’ made by Mizuno…
I got fitted for the 243, originally wanted the 245 but kept getting the odd hot shot.
Unreal irons!
Yeah so good
Same! I can’t wait for them to arrive !
Interesting I got fit for 245 out of 10 shots with 6 iron my carry yardage was within 2 yards

My head fell off at the distance you hit that 245 9 iron on the monitor. My god.
😂😂😂😂
Brilliant 👍👍
4:29 Is the loft too strong for your liking??? 😂
Huh? Lol
Can someone explain the difference between the 240 line of irons and the JPX line?
Near as I can tell, the jpx are bigger and stronger lofted.
Agreed. 923 forged vs 243 slightly bigger out back and stronger loft
Would you say the 245's are too strong. I play the mp18's atm, and hitting the 7 iron about 160/165. Worries that they will be a bit harder to control. 9hc!
Just get the lofts adjusted my guy

My guy, where did you find your bag???
They aren’t for sale boss unfortunately
I feel if you used the same lofts rather than the same iron number it would have been a better illustration.
Noted
243 might need to be a pick over my p790s
Not even close
Better upgrade yeah ?
Oh ya go for them. I am switching from 790 to the 245 and even those are a night and day difference
switching from new 790’s or old 790’s?
Is it possible to combo 245 in say 4-5-6 and 241 7-8-9-pw? No lefty option for 243
I just ordered
245: 5,6,7.
241: 7,8,9. Loft gapping will be perfect
At first glance, the idea of a 6i-PW in the 241 and 4i-5i in the 245 seems really appealing, but the 4-degree difference in loft seems like it would make it difficult to mix them in a set.
Just get them bent mate so it works

Those 241's look money 👍
So pure
I despised the hollow-body feel of the 245s.
That’s mad
224 yard 5 iron - that's pro length
It’s lofted like a 4/3 iron boss
Great review Ash!! 👊🏻 you smoked these new 24… 😳🏌🏻💪🏻
Thanks! 👍
stron grip
243 needs to have traditional lofts . new lofts are terrible . Make Mizuno Lofts Great again !!!!!
You could have them bent a degree or 2 weak. I agree that lofts could be a little weaker more to the likes of T100. But I understand why they went a little strong.

Glad I don't have to upgrade my 223's aha

Made in same factory as the old TP-9s and 19s. Same process, with a few more layers.
I’d say you’re rough on your irons… I have 140 rounds on mine look good as new other than typical wear marks
