  • This clip, filmed on June 4, 1977, features Austin television personality Carolyn Jackson interviewing Carrie Fisher at the press junket for the film Star Wars. Their discussion covers such topics as the most frightening moment during filming, her desire to be cast in a musical, her Jawa-Munchkin impersonation, tales of the Star Wars cast going out to lunch in costume, and Carrie's many relatives in Texas.

Some context for all you kids: At this point in time, if you wanted to watch a movie you went to a theatre. If you wanted to see something on TV you had to be watching WHEN IT WAS BROADCAST. Otherwise you waited until it was re-broadcast. Yes, home video recording existed, but in reality nobody had it. If there was nothing on TV and you didn't want to see a movie, you read something or did stuff, often with other people.

The part about doing musicals was heartbreaking - it made me remember that at one point she was supposed to do a revival of Guys and Dolls with John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, and Gilda Radner. That would have been incredible. Sigh.
