ME!!! hhahhaHA I specifically looked for the part where a phrase is played an octave higher, which is very shocking for a viola (actually Mr. Chen kinda seemed to mess the phrase which turned out to be harmonics up... 2:54)
No : I'm here because as a violist myself, I typed in the piece and didn't just type in the popular "TwoSet" who are just a couple of lads with a channel who simply rely on fans for views and/or-more-importantly-to-them .... income.
Didn't realize until 1 minute in that this was my viola teacher. He coached me to play competitively when I was in high school. Unfortunately, I didn't continue on to play viola professionally, but I have fond memories of my classes with him. Great teacher.
3:04 - that REALLY is a superb " scattered bow" technique in order to achieve that great sound!!! Bravo. Even my best teachers for viola could not show/teach me that...
artificial harmonics. basically you place your first finger down normally then lightly touch your fourth finger to the string in a specific interval to sound the note you want (especially useful for getting high notes on the viola and making an eerie effect)
@@hannahviolist7069 I would not use the term "artificial", since it is a well known technique used in stringed instruments. He certainly made more use of them than most in this piece, I thought to great effect, and his mastery of them is astonishing to me! Harmonics are especially hard to do well, because if you miss the note just slightly it will sound awful - whereas in regular playing, if you miss a note just slightly you can correct the pitch - or if the note is too short, so there is no time to correct it, one keeps playing and (assuming you get the other notes right) no one will notice. Note, I am a mere mortal, a long time viola player but not anything close to professional level much less this level!
Who is here after Two set viola sight reading? This viola piece is really good...
Meeeeeee!!!!
It IS amazing! Violas can be virtuosistic indeed, I just forget sometimes with all the memes lol

Let Brett play this masterpiece on his viola on 4MIL drop
As of he can even read alto clef 😂

Apparently he used harmonics on that high note that eddy couldn't reach lol

E Paganini disse a Berlioz : Non ci siamo! E nacque questa composizione. Berlioz, dal canto suo prese la partitura e scrisse Aroldo in Italia.
Could Eddy play the part in 8:26? (obviously on viola)
Me encantó :0
Bravo! Bravo!! Well done! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

@@hannahviolist7069 thanks for explaining...wanted to learn harmonics for a while now.
It isnt a paganini peice without harmonics lol

Viola just better
谱子版本好奇怪。。。为什么pont段不拉,而且前面抛弓也没有这么快啊。。。
Hello,
I would like to know where did you find the string orchestra version? Did you have it made for you?

Che per assurdo si è un brano sonatistico ma riconduce più ad un concerto che ad una vera e propria sonata
poor Chinese all play with a Chinese accent and don’t hear it, the democratic world turns a blind eye to it
That's actually what my teacher had told me after listening to me playing very lyrical pieces. There are too many twists and bubbles in my notes
Невозможно слушать , ужасная азиатщина в исполнении
