I like that they're making use of your computer to analyse them first - definitely a better route to get better quality. None of the current controllers, or even full CDJ's will ever do live Stem analysis. The Qualcomm CPU's simply do not have the power to do this. You would need a controller with a Intel i7 CPU which of course will never exist. So fair enough really doing them ahead of time. A very welcome update !.

I’d say cpu isn’t the problem. We already have good enough ARMs. The issue is the price (fast cpu, ram, better cooling), pro units are already crazy expensive. Imagine if they’d cost twice the price ;) It’s smart to prepare it all on PC. IMO they should let us use lower quality stems on unit itself (at least to cut off the vocals, leave acapella).

No, the stems beta was made available for the 4+ because Denon wanted a small test group. They never said the full release would be exclusive to the 4+
It was never their main marketing reason, it actually had been leaked by a shop by accident. Also, the more devices support it, the better it is for further feedback and improvements. The $10 solution is fair. Pioneer would never offer that.
There is no denying that it was a huge selling point for the device. Some people even upgraded from 4 to 4+ for live stem potential. Turned out live separation is completely unnecessary for now
It's gonna be $9.90. Paid once for a life time license. From the Engine Stems FAQ. Will also install a third party tool in to Engine at first time use of stems.

@@enry2346 Ahhh right, ok, cheers, I'm ok with that then I suppose, I'm just not down with all these other subscription models being rolled out by every other creative industry company it seems
I understand why it’s going to be a paid feature but it does feel a little bit annoying. I get it costs to develop software after its initial release but when you’re paying money for the hardware you feel like updates and new features should be free. Apple doesn’t charge you to get updates when you update your iPhone. Have much more respect for native instruments for dropping their subscription model and going back to free feature releases
I agree. I'm relieved that Denon/Engine DJ didn't go with any subscription garbage. Native Instruments did the same with Traktor. It seems that the best way to go is to Develop something of value, and then sell it outright. No one like to "rent" their gear/features. Owning it outright is the better option.
I know traktor 4 wasn’t free, Traktor 4 was a major upgrade/release which I can understand why it’s paid for. Like you have to pay for major upgrades for most software packages, then upgrades are typically discounted if you have the previous version as an incentive to upgrade. Like I said I understand why companies do this, it costs to employ people to make these features. Hopefully the cost of new features ain’t going to be too expensive and they don’t make every new feature a paid thing, it’s when all the extra features all add up to be a silly price it’s gets a bit stupid. It’s like when almost any extra feature in serato you had to pay for at one point. Thats why I never swapped to it. You pay one cost for the base software then a cost of all the extra DLCs. I’m glad Denon are not going down the subscription route. That is one of the biggest bug bears I have with modern software development practices. Just hope they don’t make every single new feature a cost for users.
So it’s not doing realtime stems on a standalone unit, just playing the files. So it’s basically the same thing that VDJ has has for years now, for free. You can save all 5 (yes 5) seperate stems as files to play on a standalone unit or CDJs such as acapellas or instrumentals. Nothing new here unfortunately.
Yes, there's plenty new here. It's the combo of pre-analysis plus loading a single file for easy control of stems on the pads that makes this a great addition to a whole range of standalones. VDJ is great, but so is this.
oh here it comes - the Denon junkies going nutz - pay for services. Oh no - not Denon lmao. Only Pioneer/Alpha does this. Everyone jumps the shark eventually. Its a business folks. Surprised took this long. Still an awesome feature but just laughing as I know everyone loves to basj the subscriptions.

Hope there will choose a small one time payment instead of subscription. Else it gonna be problematic 😑
The fee will be 10$ (Source Mojaxx)
And fortunately it's a one-time fee, it's not a subscription. Not too expensive imo.
Hey
Didn't Natives Instrments start stems ?
Kind of... long story.
So, if you buy a 2 Denon SC6000 Ms and a Denon 1850, you have to pay for this, but if you have the Prime Four plus it is free? Really?
Stop crying for a one-time payment of $10 for up to 4 devices. It's not a monthly subscription.
I own 2x sc6000m’s a 1850 mixer, prime 4 and a prime go. Looks like I’ll have to stump up £10
@@DJ_BeatBlasterz I'm not crying, I'm a Pioneer DJ- I don't intend to use it. It's just odd from a business perspective, using the older customers (who actually spent more) to subsidize the new customers. Not sure that is a solid business practice but you can run your business anyway you want.
@@DJDOG-zakkgamer6423 I guess you should have just bought the Prime Four Plus, ha ha. Then you could have had extra features and stems for free.
@@kennethmalafy8012
Well I guess that 2 sc6000M + an x1850 +10$ for the stems license is still cheaper than 2 CDJ3000 + 1 DJM A9 which doesn't have stems.... And that when you spend so much money on such a setup, we are no longer at 10$ more
Hooray, after I've paid for my adobe, soundswitch, AI art & now Denon subscriptions, I may have enough left to eat at the end of the month
I will own nothing and I WILL be happy, just as uncle Klaus predicted during the 'You know what that we're not allowed to question that was 100% like totally safe & effective dude, trust me, I'm on the TV' ha ha
It’s a lifetime payment not subscription
It's 9.99. dang. You know good and well that you never expected that feature on your current gear. So a 9 dollar upgrade for a gamechanging feature is worth it to me.... But I have a prime 4+ until it comes out for my 6000ms
@@enry2346 Ahhh right, ok, cheers, I'm ok with that then I suppose, I'm just not down with all these other subscription models being rolled out by every other creative industry company it seems
Imagine being a DJ with expensive gear, crying about a ONE-TIME $10 payment for an OPTIONAL feature.
if it works prooperly I pay! :D
It does!
Traktor 4 was not free
It's a single cost that is less than 2 beers.
I agree. I'm relieved that Denon/Engine DJ didn't go with any subscription garbage. Native Instruments did the same with Traktor. It seems that the best way to go is to Develop something of value, and then sell it outright. No one like to "rent" their gear/features. Owning it outright is the better option.
@@eespecialeventsdj you also get up to 4 devices for that cost on your account too.
Its not a subscription though. Its an optional single time cost
9.99 single price, or free if you use a Prime 4+..... at least read before spouting.
Once again Denon showing Pioneer errr I mean Alpha-Theta how it's done.
An Engine DJ rep commented on their RUclips video that stems will run a whopping, completely unreasonable $9.97 for a lifetime license. Unreal! Do they think we're trillionaires?!
🤣
